His number probably was around 40-43mil for other teams.
How do let him walk? He’s going to be 36 coming off an Achilles tear. Paying him 90mil guaranteed over the next two years is foolish. They’ll build a team around a rookie and utilize KOC’s qb development skills.

Russell was never the reason Seattle got to those superbowls. It was the Legion of Boom and Marshawn Lynch. Look at what he's done since then.
@@evelking728 Dan Marino is a hall-of-fame quarterback who had a 5,000-yard season when his peers were fortunate to have 3,000-yard seasons. Marino was leaps and bounds better than Tony Romo.
Makes no business sense to overpay that dude. He's not in the QB company to command $45 mil a year. $35 mil per for two years would have been more than fair. And given his age and injury status, that's too much. Definitely don't get the four year deal either.
45 million for two years and ten million in that third year. This what happens when Authur Smith put all his eggs in Ridders basket. It didn't turn out well.
We had the money to spend. Yes it’s a lot but it’s not hurting us falcons.
It's not about if Kirk Cousins is worth 45 million a year. It's the going market many players in all sports aren't worth their keep. It's about the failure to get Deshaun Watson, the alienation of Matt Ryan. An egotistical Authur Smith who thought he could win with Ridder and Marcus Mariota. It's Authur Smith refusal to start Ridder from the onset. It's about not being in the playoffs in seven years. Finally it's about an owner whose tired of losing. We know what Kirk Cousins is , one of the best quarterbacks in the regular season. He can get you to the playoffs, build your defense and if you make the playoffs. You have a chance. This is where the Falcons are now.
@@TheNamronTV There's no we other than -we as fans. Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot don't want to lose their jobs. You're right they still got money to spend. Now they can get their pass rusher in Dallas Turner. If the Falcons want to go deep in the playoffs. They must get younger in some positions and bring guys in who can fortify the defense.
@@TheNamronTV Yes it does. Even having the money to spend, they shouldn't have put a chunk of it on Cousins. Kills the cap space. And they have no clue how he will perform or if he's healthy enough for a rigorous full season. Entirely too much money. He's not elite. So why does demand so much?
Butter biscuits for the both of y'all. It's the owner', it's not the coach Kirk?Cousin is not a perfect fit. He's a backup. Kirk Cousiin is done.
Need 10 yards? He’ll get you 4. We’re glad to be rid of him.
Let’s see the Vikings get a better QB than Cousins this yr or nxt yr. Cousins will out play any QB the Vikings bring n for the nxt couple of yrs. The Vikings will regret letting Cousins go. Watch in see.
Wrong. Long time Viking fan NEVER wanted this average, teeth clenching QB back in 2018. You will see however as time goes on. Kirk is good in the regular season, but generally panics in the post season. Good luck!
@@jgiza8888 They are looking at Kirk Cousins' numbers, not at whether he impacts a game. They certainly are not looking at Cousins' record against winning teams or in prime-time games.
@@jgiza8888 doesn’t make what I said any less true. Let’s see if the QB y’all bring in be better than Cousins for the nxt couples yrs. We’ll find out QB by that time.
I'm going to lmao when Atl wins this division and gets that first playoff win looking at the next opponent and all you people talking mad $hit are acting like it was your idea to get Kirk here.
This was a great move, and yes we still need our qb this draft. He will have the perfect situation to sit and develop.
Let's Go Falcons!
GL you can have him, he has 1 playoff win... wakeup
All of y’all have got to be kidding me so Kirk Cousins is a great fit in Atl with them young players over there . 12 years one playoff win had never won a Monday night game …
After 5 years of below average or terrible QB play we’re literally paying for an average Qb with an above average ceiling. If we just had average QB play the past 2seasons were at least in the playoffs. Kirk is 76-67-2. Fields is 10-28…. They took the safest route and Kirk probably commanded between 35mil-45mil a year depending on how desperate your team is. That’s the new going rate for QBs. All the top 10 QBs are around 50mil a year. For perspective Baker got 38 a year. And said he took less money from other offers because Florida has no state income tax. His number probably was around 40-43mil for other teams.
How do let him walk? He’s going to be 36 coming off an Achilles tear. Paying him 90mil guaranteed over the next two years is foolish. They’ll build a team around a rookie and utilize KOC’s qb development skills.
😂
