🔥🔥🔥I think you didn't fully resonate with 'Loose Rap' because you're not used to this somewhat experimental style. Aaliyah's music was written by Static Major, who was very creative, and this slightly offbeat style of 'Loose Rap' is an example of that and you can hear him singing in the background on a lot of songs. I love this song. Static Major also wrote Lollipop by lil wayne. It's him that you can hear on the chorus. 'I Care 4 U' was for 'One In A Million" album initially, that's why Missy wrote it. And no 'Extra Smooth' is not produced by Timbaland lol, it's Static you hear in the beginning, Timbaland produced only 3 songs on this album : 'We Need A Resolution', 'More Than A Woman' and 'I Care 4 U' Yes, indeed, Aaliyah passed away just after finishing shooting 'Rock the Boat.' Some scenes were filmed just a few hours before the crash. And yes rock the boat is about making love, Static wrote it when Aaliyah was like 18 so they wait few years to record it.
Tim only did three songs on this record(we don’t include “Try Again” because it wasn’t originally there, the song “Messed Up” was) the Aaliyah album was recorded while Aaliyah was shooting her last film “Queen of the Damned” in Australia, so the vibe of the album represented that. The bulk of the about was written & produced by: Bud'da, J. Dub, Rapture, and Eric Seats. Also, sidenote Dame is very inaccurate when it comes to Aaliyah info, it tends to be all over the place…listen to interviews with Eric Ferrell, Fatima and Derek Lee (Aaliyah’s close team) for a better understanding.
Yeah they flew out to the Bahamas last minute to finish filming the Rock the boat video and she unfortunately passed in the plane crash after filming. Many people have conspiracies because there was no need to fly out there when they were already filming in Miami. Plus the plane that crashed wasn’t supposed to be the one they used. It was way too small to hold her and the 8 passengers. 😔
I still say OIAM was her best album. I do like she experienced and experimented with different sounds but there were times in the music where you couldn't hear her voice over the hard elements of rock and other genres. I feel they could've picked better beats. I feel production could've been better, honestly. I still like Aaliyah but Im not sure if she had a storyline too much or I wish we could've gotten a bit more insight into why each song went into the next and why she chose these beats. im a listener where I like the beats then the lyrics with a storyline. Im wondering if she worked with a different producer because Tim had a crush on her and it got weird to the point they didn't talk to each other for a while; along, with her uncle stirring up trouble. I don't know I felt like missy and timb were missing . Although, they worked on this album but not as much which made me a bit sad. I just wonder if that might've been the reason, along with Aaliyah learning to grow as a woman also made that a factor. Also, I didn't like Loose Rap myself but I definitely understood the story because Aaliyah was dating certain people in the industry while others were talking about her crew and some of the women, mainly a woman (not Beyonce, of course) was talking crap and that's why they made that song after I did my research. So loose rap is a acquired taste, it's just the beat is like spiraling wine with a blueberry taste. Missy even mentioned in Supa Dupa Fly, that everyone talks crap, I forgot which interlude or song I heard from that album that mentions this but she even said Aaliyah talks crap so they worked on Loose Rap for a very long time most likely. I also recommend listening to Supa Dupa Fly by Missy. It's a storyline I appreciate.
I love all of Aaliyah's albums, she was so talented. I miss her so much.
She my favorite!! lol we ready for that broken silence reaction too lol
