Anime is Japanese animation. Manga is Japanese comic novels. Chinese comic novels are called manhua so Chinese cartoon can be referred to as ""manhua anime". Korean comic novels are called manhwa. Cartoons/comic novels of Japan, China, and Korea each has a distinctive style and of course, different sense of humor
this is true however if you actually go to japan you'll find that there every kind of animation is considered anime. it's only in the west you'll find any weight in the argument of calling an anime a cartoon, or vice versa, incorrect.
Leonard quickly found how Sheldon was training Penny's behavior. But he has yet to discover, how Penny is using sex as positive reinforcement on him, to train his behavior.
@Michael Andrew Imagery I couldn't take advantage of that. I always have the toilet seat down, but that's because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to stand while doing it. Also I don't have a girlfriend.....
Penny didn't have to use sex to control or train Leonard's behaviour, Leonard wanted to get laid and sleep with Penny from the first moment he set eyes on her. That's why Leoanrd went out of its way to woo, dote on impress and win Penny's heart because pretty much all he wanted, valued and cared about in their relationship was sex.
"Are you saying that I am forbidden from applying a harmless scientifically valid protocol that would make our lives better" "Yes, you're forbidden" "Bad Leonard" *spritzes him with water* XD
One of my lecturers played this clip for my Language and Literacy module for my Early Childhood Studies Degree. We have to study a number of different theorists. Skinner being one of the most popular. This clip was my first experience of the Big Bang Theory and I loved it. I had to try and put it out of my mind for the rest of the lecture because it made me laugh every time I thought of it.
+ZehMysticBoi highly unlikely. The definition of a weeaboo, is a person with a massive obsession over Japanese culture. If you observe Sheldons typical behavior, you will soon observe that his highest points interest, are inside of SciFi, superheroes, science and trains. You may very rarely observe him talking, or referencing anything related to Japanese culture. This means that Sheldon is not a weeaboo.
+Jonas Dalbakk the term otaku applies to all the guys in Big Bang. Otaku is anyone who is knowledgable of his hobby that goes beyond amateur. They are all serious comic/sci-fi otakus.
Yes it is. Otaku is someone who knows a lot about their hobby and things related. They spend alot of their time on their hobby. "A person who has a greater understanding and/or a greater passion towards something than the average individuals".
Best part of TBBT I've seen so far. I started watching/catching up on it about a week ago. Currently on Season 3, Episode 10 The second best moment was Sheldon's Christmas gift.
Leonard: Okay, I know what you're doing. Sheldon: You do? Leonard: Yes! You're using chocolate as a positive reinforcement for what you consider correct behavior! Sheldon: Very good! Chocolate? xD
Joe Lau ok a person born with only 1 opening in their nose. Went in has nose surgery to make it with 2 holes instead of 1. The surgeon screwed up and gave her 3 holes. FYI if a joke or funny line has to be explained. It rinders it totally not funny at that point. Though to be honest it isn't that hard to understand. People have 2 holes in their nose called nastruals. Where as a deformity caused the girl to have only 1.
I find this so hilarious; I am an animal trainer myself and we use this video very often to diagnose how training works to students and interns. It’s just so fun to watch it this way! LOL
Now that you say that, I remember where I first saw this. My mom got mad because I thought we had already watched this episode. I guess every psych class has to watch this.آلجۅد
*Japanese Audio* *Laughs* Penny: What's this cartoon called again? Leonard: Oshikuru Demon Samurai *Laughs* Sheldon: It's not a cartoon, It's Anime *Laughs* I can go on but, really? I feel like they force the audience to laugh after every freaking sentence.
To be fair, Sheldon is not doing any harm to penny. The things he teaches her like no unnecessary talking or leaving the room to talk on the phone are things that everyone would appreciate.
I can’t believe that no one’s talking about this. The anime Sheldon and Leonard are watching is 'Oshikuru: Demon Samurai',which was introduced in Two And A Half Men and it’s theme song was written by Charlie Harper from the same show Two And A Half Men. It’s the most subtle yet clever way to mix two of my favorite shows!
Leonard: Ok. I know what your doing. Sheldon: Really? Leonard: Yes, your using chocalate as postive reinforcement for what you consider correct behavior Sheldon: VERY Good, chocalate? Leonard: Sheldon, you can't train my girl like a lab rat Sheldon: Turns out I can
Oshikuru is like the only thing i can remember from Two and a Half Men well that and Jake wanting to learn how to play Queen on his guitar since he thinks it isn't "Gay" Wow.. if you take away the alcohol, dope and anything sex related.. It's a horrible show.
"it's not a cartoon, it's anime" But anime are cartoons. Anime is literately Japanese cartoons. I'm pretty sure the term "cartoon" isn't confined to only western cartoons, but Japanese also.
joshua Paul You: "calling anime a japanese cartoon works." Me:"Anime is literately Japanese cartoons." Is this message for me? Because otherwise you're just repeating what is said.
+joshua Paul So, you're referring to "But anime are cartoons." Okay, so what you're saying is that the term anime is just "Japanese cartoons", but you can't separate Japanese from cartoons, otherwise it would just be cartoons. I get your point. but look, western or Japanese, it's still cartoon regardless. It's the process that defines it, not the culture. Well, in my own opinion, it's just a sub-category, a genre if you will. *After all, anime isn't a medium, but a genre for animation.* Anime isn't synonymous with animation, because otherwise Disney movies by definition would be called "anime." ~Sigh, I don't want to dwell to deep on the whole genre or medium thing, and that's not the point of the discussion, the point i'm trying to make is this. "We don't call animations made in Canada, Canadian cartoons. I don't see how Japanese cartoon is an exception." You might say, "but you're also calling cartoons Japanese cartoons and that you're contradicting yourself." I was using Japanese cartoons to distinguish from cartoons. Otherwise my op would have went something like this. "I'm pretty sure the term "cartoon" isn't confined to only cartoons, but cartoons also." which made no sense I wasn't implying that Japanese and cartoons is inseparable when defining anime.
I'm so glad Sheldon knows the difference between cartoon and anime
No Japanese

Have a chocolate…

Leonard quickly found how Sheldon was training Penny's behavior. But he has yet to discover, how Penny is using sex as positive reinforcement on him, to train his behavior.
He knows, but doesn't care :D
@Michael Andrew Imagery Its she who makes you feel smart :>
@Michael Andrew Imagery u of course
@Michael Andrew Imagery I couldn't take advantage of that. I always have the toilet seat down, but that's because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to stand while doing it. Also I don't have a girlfriend.....

Chocolate---Positive reinforcement
water spray---positive punishment
Chopping off hand, negative punishment
Taking away pain from chopping off hand (Somehow), negative reinforcement
Sex - positive reinforcement
