@@NickyandHarri Always look forward to watching one of your videos. I loved watching the stunning designs and layout can i ask what AI tool you use to show these designs. You have inspired me to do an ensuite but i am not really a design person.
Get an extension pole for the roller. You can do floor to ceiling in one go with limited movement and aids giving a professional finish on the last lay of the paint. Efficient, quicker and better finish.
Well done to you both, that was a hard week. Loving that you can finally move in, much better to be onsite. Your slow cooker will become your best friend , just chuck it all in in the morning while you still have the energy & by the end of the day you'll have a delicious, healthy meal. Take care
You never fail to impress with your hard work & dedication. It's absolutely incredible what you've achieved. Fantastic job on the drainage! I love it when you finally get to dress a room. The bedroom sanctuary looks so cozy. The drawers were a great find. A spot of wall panelling would add an extra touch aswell as a feature wall colour. Not forgetting a light shade & cozy curtains. Looking forward to next week. Take good care of yourselves ❤x
Awh thanks as always Harley, we’re chuffed with what we’ve achieved so far. We’ll be going ham with some wall panneling inside when we get it a bit closer to a finish product, we can’t wait for all the final touches that transform it 🤗🥰
Another week of great progress! I don't think you are, but just don't bury any stumps or tree limbs in car park. Over time they will rot and you'll get a sink hole....
Really annoyed with you two. Had a week’s holiday last week and got nothing done in my new house. Literally went back and watched all your videos. 😂 newish to the channel. Love the dynamic and banter between you two. Just finished work and now on this episode. Wish you both loads of luck and will be watching every Sunday. ps need to protect the cut ends of the timber. It’s treated until you cut it. Use Creosote to protect it otherwise it will rot. Alec
There are many reno couple channels on RUclips but you two just do it best! Very likeable pair, great Sunday videos and amazing progress for just a few months, very inspiring (like many commenters, I am also starting a renovation in the near future!)
Suggestion if there’s any mouldy areas windows etc bathrooms ceilings use cillit bang black mould and mildew cleaner on the area then put a Ron-seal anti mould paint then paint as normal.
Love the addition of the sleepers and flower bed. That will definitely improve the curb appeal! Bedroom looks hood but I would definitely add a small wardrobe in the corner by the dresser, and curtains! A double track on the ceiling, then you can have a sheer privacy curtain and a black out curtain. You can get it all cheap from IKEA.
Cheap stain you can make with fine steel wool and distilled vinegar. I’m applying some over treated posts for a different look. Color you will get is not too predictable, but it’s effective.
And on the day the camera was recording, the move-in day observing, was the precious time of life, in which Nicky and Harri learned a lesson of great price: never store the TV flat on the floor! 😂 I mean hey, with this memory engraved in your brains, you'll never make that mistake again! If you have a slow cooker, you might want a rice cooker as well, preferably one that also doubles as a vegetable steamer.
French drains are fantastic, so many people forget when doing basements or back gardens about adequate drainage and just live with water damage, well done
Your hard work is really paying off, it’s already looking great! You really should be so proud of yourselves, your so hardworking & there’s a lot of people out there that could take a leaf out of your book! Plants for the flower bed will obviously depend on several factors but hardy perennials are the best to go for as low maintenance & you’ll get colour year after year. Just a few ideas for plants & ones I love are things like Salvia’s, Hosta’s, Coneflowers, Peonies, Asters, Hardy Geranium’s, Allium’s, Phlox, Aquilegia, some varieties of Hebe’s & even Ornamental Grasses look lovely hope that helps. I look forward to seeing what you decide on & I look forward to next weeks video as always. Have a great week guy’s. xx
What she said! 👆👆 Great advice. I have most of these in our flower bed under the study and they are low maintenance and good value for money as they come back year after year. I also like Hydrangeas (Hortensia)
If im about to get on a multi-hour flight, who do I need to bribe to get the next episode a day early so I have something to watch? ...who am I kidding? Its Nicky. Nicky, if you could just post all your raw footage from this week, please... 😁
Get yourself a dyson air purifier we had one when we were living in our renovation and it helped purify the air so we didn’t get ill from the dust and bad chemicals in the air. When we first put the dyson air purifier it was reading the air pollution in the room as dangerous and red and after a few days it was in the green.
Love your dedication and commitment to this project. I bet it tests your patience most of the time, but love how you guys never take it out on eachother. Ps, to make the rooms that little bit more homely and cosy, I’d have taken the window ledges down to wooden with a wood varnish for the rooms!! Extra warmth. So excited for the rest of this series x
All the little wins on site make your day better, atleast you don’t have to leave at the end of the day now just relax. Keep smashing it and I don’t mean the tv 🫣
Absolutely amazing, since I have subscribed a while back now I have always looked forward to Sunday just to see what you and henri get up to. Love you guys videos it’s amazing and a motivation for anyone around the world ❤❤❤
Amazing work. ❤ You guys showed some AI shots of how the front and kitchen would look of your property. How do you do that. If you don't mind me asking.
Great series guys, can’t wait for next instalment. I’m no expert but why not try an extension pole on your paint roller. It’s not so much about reaching but more about allowing you a much longer, more even stroke with your emulsion paint. You’ll find it much quicker too I think. Obviously you will still need to ‘cut in’ with a brush.
I'm thinking for when I do my next reno I'm going to invest in a proper paint sprayer because yes you're right painting f##%% sucks... might be worth it for you guys if you're going to do more
Love watching what you’re getting up to. It’s going to look great when you’re done. Driveway, i Don’t how you do it, that’s a lot of hard work. I feel knackered just watching 😁.
Thanks Michelle, it was a lot of back-breaking work but luckily for us we’ve had some awesome friends help along the way! Roll on some more progress 😅🥰
Greet Job Nicky and Harri watch the 2 renovation in 1 day 😀 no nice keep going , have to make a t shirt Nicky The Brickkie 😀 grettings from Benny from Holland 😀
Great progress. Do you have a wardrobe or some larger sized storage furniture in your new den? I couldn't see anything. Perhaps there isn't enough space?
Yeah, any time sleepers are used as a retaining wall for soil it's a good idea to treat them as much as possible. Wood just won't last long if it's constantly damp.
Well done on slogging the drainage out and that little sleeper solution. Sometimes you just gotta role with it and work it out! We survived for over a year on our Reno with a cheap counter top microwave and and a 1970s oven and grill! ( it was immaculate 🤷♂️) We found it important to get a clean space done away from all the work……. Plus we were sick of sleeping on the lounge floor lol. The things you do during a complete referb 🤣🤣🤣❤️
100%/ the best ideas always seem to come to us when we’re working on our feet, it’s impossible to plan out exactly what it will look like (especially with the hill to work against!). We lived in such worse conditions the first time round so we promised ourselves we wouldn’t do that again (hence the cozy space!). The things we put ourselves through though hey?😂
@ me too!❤️❤️❤️I’ve got red-wine Lavender and violet one. It looks awesome especially on spring-summer time and stays green over autumn-winter. Very beautiful plant!🪴
Guys loving the videos but I’m concerned that you’re doing all that hard work to the front of the property and possibly still got an old water supply pipe in which could burst in the future Or have you had it replaced ?
Think you guys are doing a great job, but is the base of the retaining wall wide enough for that height of wall given the amount of soil its holding back?.
One of those zip up dust barriers for the door into your bedroom may be handy as dust always finds a way in!
My partner and I are new subscribers, we live in Australia and hope to renovate our house! We look forward to seeing more ❤
Awesome to have some viewers on the other side of the world! Best of luck with getting started 🥰😅

Also you guys have made some wild progress. So impressed

Great watch as usual.. fantastic progress.❤
The little room looks great. I'd be adding an air fryer to that kitchen, too!
Already on it! 😅
You guys became my favourite RUclipsrs, keep it coming guys, loads of love from Sri Lanka
Hi loving it! Would it be better to plastic line and treat the interior of sleepers before filling to also prevent rot?
I watch your videos on Sundays. A hug from Buenos Aires Argentina 🫶
Great job guys! I’d put some small inset or up/down solar lights along the bottom of your new wall and sleeper wall

Loving the house renovation it’s looking great!! But you cut your sleepers but didn’t protect the exposed wood 🥲
Brilliant episode, nothing like a cozy sanctuary after a long day 😊 we have love the

You could burn the sleepers surfaces and wire brush them after, looks natural and lasts a lifetime.
I've just realised from the video of you at Curry's, you must live very close to me. Interesting as some of the neighbouring towns are beautiful.

Newbury Retail Park! It’s awesome to know your local! Keep up the good work! 😊

Hi both, so glad you’re finally in …, one step closer 😊to
One step closer to the finish line! 💙
I do worry about you smashing your head on the corner of that desk 😅.
For the sleepers, I'd go with a UV oil like Osmo or Manns (cheaper)
Luckily Nicky’s on that side and she’s a very peaceful sleeper 😅

Make a balcony on top of the kitchen extension
I think it's worth chasing in power and data for TVs in bedrooms. Too late now for that room but worth it for other rooms. Means you can hang the TVs.
They can always do it later, this bedroom is not yet in its final form.
Oh….. Cuprinol Ducks back has always been my go to, contemporary shades as well.

Ngl, the decentralized TV triggered my OCD hahaha. Jokes aside, you all are doing a really great job. Keep it up!
If the soil is clay your better not using the wrap it will just clog up in no time. The gravel on its own is best.
Why would you plaster a room but not the window reveals 🤔🤔
