Thanks for the showcase! I'm thinking of buying a 96 4x4 for about 9k. It has like 280k miles however but looks like it's in good condition. What are your thoughts?
Glad you enjoyed it! Mine has been nothing but reliable n I just hit 264k! About to do a bunch of suspension parts since I’ve been off-roading it and it needs a few bushings, other than that it’s an amazing vehicle, definitely get one!
Hey dude.. I’m thinking of buying a one owner ‘96 SR5 (2wd) listed for $9K.. would you recommend? I’m a little nervous buying a 25 year old vehicle but I hear they are reliable. Any major issues or problems you can share?
Hey man, the 96 has 2 less body mounts compared to the rest but it’s not a problem if you don’t want to body lift it. Unless it’s super low mileage 9k for a 2wd is a bit high. As far as the car itself, I just rolled on 263k and mechanically it’s still amazing, if it’s taken care of they’re invincible mechanically. Now with mine I’ve been off-roading it pretty hard and at this mileage the suspension is getting tired. If you do buy the car do the ball joints immediately as it’s the Achilles heel of these cars, aside that they’re pretty solid cars. Lmk if you have any questions!
@@seizethespeed - Thanks man.. that’s great information and advice! I really appreciate it. It is a bit high but it only has 174K miles on it.. which is harder to find with these models. There’s another I’m looking at which is a ‘99 model with 218K miles, very clean, lifted/new wheels and tires. They just replaced the timing belt, water pump and valve cover gasket (or so they say).. but it’s listed for $16K! A bit steep.. but that’s the way it seems to be now. I would definitely replace those ball joints.. I also hear the radiator might be a good idea as well. I’m still considering everything. I’ll definitely hit you up if I pull the trigger or have any questions. Thanks again man!

9k is a lot for that mileage even though they are very reliable
At min 8, looks like the other driver you were pulling out didnt put transmission in nuetral or reverse.
I'm in Houston Texas where did you do this trail? I have a 2002 4runner that I'd like to take to this place
It’s north of Fort Worth, it’s called Bridgeport OHV park.
@@seizethespeed thanks for your reply and keep up with more videos 😎

I just bought an 02 with 140k for 15,000 and no regrets! It had a lot of mods but it is definitely worth it
