Looking forward to seeing your channels new FFS comparison with new ML-2 vs AT-2 & lvs34. I think it's still gonna hard to beat the Lvs34. No matter they will all continue to improve upon everything. Can't go wrong with any of 3 brands these days. I run a echomap ultra 106sv, steady cast, & lvs34 system on my kayak. I love it! Had it close to 2 years now. I'm all in with all that including my lithium batteries for just under 2500.00 buying with sales & coupon codes.
John, it looks like the transducer that comes with the xplore is different part number than the one that comes with the Apex or solix. Hummingbird confirmed that it will work with the solix MSI transducer?? Also it appears that the map card isn't the premium so it will not have 2D Shaded Relief or aerial imagery. Do you know if the cord provided with the xplore will have Smart strike??? Thanks. Guy
@@guyb5333 it is just a compact version. That's what the c stands for. Solix/Apex ducer works confirmed by Humminbird. I will have to check on the smartstrike
@@RussellMarineProductsLLC thanks John I appreciate you checking. When you get a chance I hope you can make a video showing how to put the Mega 360 in SI mode using an XPLORE unit. Your previous vid showing how to put the Mega 360 in Side Imaging using a helix was an awesome eye opener. With Ultrex SI, I wonder if they conveniently forgot to put the capability of locking that MEGA 360 forward to display SI from the 360? Thanks man
So if I understood you correctly, even though today a Solix and Apex will network with the Helix, a Explore will not be able to network with a Helix? Also where did you get the information that Helix 9 and 10 are being discontinued? Ulike the 8, 12, and 15, the 9, and 10 ares still available on the Humminbird website.
What is wrong with the solix or helix? Or the OG ultrex for that matter. These forced tech advancements from Johnson are getting old. If you don’t want to pay for an xplore unit or quest motor then I guess they don’t want you as a customer anymore…
Well said! I purchased another 12” Helix unit (run 3 now) and purchased Mega Live unit over Garmin as the Hummingbird salesperson told me “you will always be able to update” this unit versus updating the transducer….. NOT true! In less than 8 months Hummingbird did exactly opposite than what many of us were told…. Going to find it hard to support them anymore as they could have at least made it compatible with Helix!
XPLORE 9" --> $1300...Mega Live 2 --> $1500...Wearing a Garmin coat while introducing the NEW birds --> PRICELESS!!! 🤣🤣💯

I'm fairly confident that the Helix 5G2, 5G3, 7G4(N), 9G4N and 10G4N are not going to be discontinued, they are in the 2025 Humminbird Catalog
Both are behind Lowrance with 1000$ eagle eye 9 with live scope
Refer to the 2:32 timestamp. this info came straight from Humminbird...I guess I could be wrong tho!
Humminbird still playing catch up to Garmin. 😂
Hummingbird did their customers dirty
will they work with a old ulterra on the contour following?
Yes!
Thanks again ! You might tell the guy talking in background competes with you talking at times......tks

I would just like to know if your Apex or Solex screen protectors will work on the Explorer units
no they will not, we will redesign them and have screen protectors for them though.
Big difference in price between the US and Australia, around 1K aud more for the same thing

Correct the Helix and Xplore will not network with each other. The information came from Humminbird.
How did they not put a button to turn off and on zero lines mapping
It appears that you would have to be crazy to buy Helix unit from any retailer
Wanna know why? Because they dont use a black box. If they did you wouldnt need to buy a whole nother unit
agreed! live is a LOT of data/information to take in and a module will help process it!
