Truss is only responsible for a short-term loss of confidence - it is merely a blip in the decline of the UK economy that has being going on for years. Never truly recovered from 2008 financial crisis before the current state of affairs: Brexit and the global pandemic have hit hard because both these have been a shambles. No-one knows what they are doing and they are mostly interested in lining their pockets. Corrupt government backhander contracts and companies that run people into the ground while paying employees barely enough to survive. Cost of living crisis is nothing new. High inflation is a global problem right now: and is primarily the result of money printing during pandemic (US Federal Reserve is the #1 culprit) and compounded by energy price hikes which western countries did to themselves by boycotting Russian oil & gas. UK is a net importer of foodstuffs and other goods. If you want to blame somebody then look at the big players in the financial sector who have their sticky fingers in every pie and manipulate the markets while freely assisted by incompetent/corrupt government officials. Slate needs to be wiped clean. Does anyone have the balls?

Generals and Prime Minister's need to look and sound like leaders. Height and a powerful voice have usually been vital given the reality of politics and war fighting over most of the last 2000 years.
Thatcher was an exception like Ramsey MacDonald.Most of the real talent had been killed or ruined in the First or Second World War. For Thatcher the skills of a brilliant forensic tax lawyer combined with keeping the last cabinet and caucus with mid and high ranking combat tested officers and a reasonably large military and real officer class. Richie and Truss have none of that and lead a Tory Party that prior to Ukraine know nothing about the military and modern combat forces and could be compared with Gorbachev in 1984 they have zero ability to analyse British, US, Russian and Ukraine air, sea and land forces and rely entirely from advice from dubious intelligence sources, nothing about including the compilers is within their scope

Thing that sickens me is that in a few months or a year she'll probably be holding a serious post in government again. In other careers when you fail miserably you're finished, yet in our most essential jobs in the country they can flounder, ruin us, and still carry on.

This unnecessary, inflammatory and ill thought out speech was painful to listen to. Her assertation that we are a wealthy nation beggars belief. For a politician, her blunt confrontational stance is one that could lead to a lot of people getting seriously hurt. She mentioned several times that "we" must learn lessons, I wasn't aware the politicians needed to learn lessons it has always been my belief that one should be capable of doing a job before being employed. Absolutely pathetic.
Stupidity has no boundaries, no respect, no lucidity, no shame, no plans, no self respect except self service…
