I really wish they add a feature where the camera sends email notification with 15sec video as attachment (option) when it detect a motion. I dont even know why most if not all security camera out there dont have such basic function. When I review playback from other Xiaomi cameras on the timeline there are highlights when "movement" or "person" is detected in different coulours, which is invaluable. Is there a way to turn on such function here?

I'm frequently having error "couldn't open camera 2, try again later". I searched for it and got results like the camera should be from the same region as mi home app. But this doesn't looks like the issue. I need the key area feature so i set this international version in chinese mainland region of mi home app. In like 5 min of preview i get this error, restarting app again fix the issue temporarily. I faced the same issue when i set the server to my own region. So think the issue is something else

I have the EC3 English firmware but it's not compatible with N2. The EC3 hardware seems different because of the upgraded camera. I don't think this camera is compatible with NVR/DVRs. Thanks.
When powering the camera using the included power adaptor, how do you waterproof the wall socket connection? Also, how do you waterproof the ethernet connection when it's not in use? (network connection via WiFi).
You have to use/install a wall socket at a weather proof location and probably use the 3 meters cable to connect to the cameras. You can also install a weather proof power box outdoors, which can house the socket and the adapter. For the RJ45 connector, you have to use the provided water proofing cap over the unused port and the tape to cover up the cable opening in the cap. Thanks to your comment.

The Key area care feature is available only on the Chinese Server as mentioned in the video at 11:17. The AI feature is supposed to be integrated to the cloud servers, when you enable the Home Monitoring option and will get notification based on the Humanoid detections, etc. Thanks.

The Key area function is an extra function and I do not think its unavailability in the International server affects the other functions. However I also like to see the Key are function in our local servers, I don't know why Imilab didn't add it. I hope they add it in the future. Anyways thanks for your comments and suggestions.
Just got that camera recently. No movement of people recorded. Only movement of plant in the garden . No notification send to phone. This is one usuless piece of equipment I have bought and regret.
First delete your camera from your Mi Home App. And then in the Mi Home App, go to Profile->Settings->Region select Chinese Mainland. Login again and pair to the camera. That will be the Chinese server and you can access the Key Area settings. Thanks.
@@DSmartLife Live view is more jerky when connecting to China servers. I am in the UK so Europe servers make more sense. Its a shame that they have not included that functionality for Europe. It surely should be a straightforward software patch!
@@simpleuser01 Yes, it's better to connect to a server near to your location for faster service. I'm not sure why they have not included the Key Area function in the international servers, it's a shame. I'm guessing it's related to cloud service and additional computing requirements to the cloud servers to detect movements in a specific area. In the Chinese server, they also offer paid cloud storage services but not in the international ones. Anyways, I don't think they will add the key area function outside China in the future. @@DSmartLife Key area monitoring should not be dependent on cloud as its a software feature. I had contacted the imilab support who advised that the feature is under development and testing and will be released next year to everyone.

@@asmaakter8165 Mi A3600/AX1800 is better than Huawei AX3 Pro in cooling performance. All Xiaomi/Redmi Wi-Fi 6 Routers have good ventilation for cooling but Huawei/Honor Routers lack good ventilation due to the compact form factor. The bottom of the router heats up very fast. Thanks.

Ideally speaking, not much different. But sometimes people complain that the Motion detection notifications come late. And some counties may face slow streaming speed over the internet via the Chinese servers and so on. A local server will be better in speeds of course. Thanks.
Most of the time for me is not possible to connect at all to the camera, chineese server and reset required.. picture quality some time is awful , like 360p. Sd card is died after week, so i am not recommend to buy at all this camera, better to invest in prooper one. Sadly, because is good looking camera for me...

That is feedback echo noise, it usually happens when the source mic and the speaker are near to each other. Are you trying to use the voice talkback feature with your phone near to the camera? Please try it when you are far away from the camera. Please try and let me know. Thanks.
Your Camera cannot reconnect to the Wi-Fi after a power failure or the problem is just during a brownout? It can never reconnect(needing a reset) or it connects after a restart or after some time? The problem can be from your Router or the camera. To make sure the problem in with the camera, you can ensure that your Wi-Fi SSID is not hidden. And you can also set a separate 2.4GHz if you have a single Dual Band network. You can also try powering Off just the camera and power again to see if it reconnects and vice-versa. Anyways let me know the details. Thanks.
After having three of these for nearly a year, I don't recommend them, they have multiple disconnection issues and freezing. You can't trust in this toys. Looking forward for more professional alternatives.
Works fine, no disconnection or freezing for me, used 2 units since Mac 2021. My only gripe is 2 things, video is always zoomed in as default in the app and no tilt function.

I can't see the " Key area care setting " and I don't see " AI humanoid detection to reduce false positives " do you know what to do to have all functions ? it is new Camera
The Key area care feature is available only on the Chinese Server as mentioned in the video at 11:17. The AI feature is supposed to be integrated to the cloud servers, when you enable the Home Monitoring option and will get notification based on the Humanoid detections, etc. Thanks.

The Key area function is an extra function and I do not think its unavailability in the International server affects the other functions. However I also like to see the Key are function in our local servers, I don't know why Imilab didn't add it. I hope they add it in the future. Anyways thanks for your comments and suggestions.
Just got that camera recently. No movement of people recorded. Only movement of plant in the garden . No notification send to phone. This is one usuless piece of equipment I have bought and regret.

Hi, how do you change the server to connect to China? I want the key area settings that are not available on European servers
First delete your camera from your Mi Home App. And then in the Mi Home App, go to Profile->Settings->Region select Chinese Mainland. Login again and pair to the camera. That will be the Chinese server and you can access the Key Area settings. Thanks.
@@DSmartLife Live view is more jerky when connecting to China servers. I am in the UK so Europe servers make more sense. Its a shame that they have not included that functionality for Europe. It surely should be a straightforward software patch!
@@simpleuser01 Yes, it's better to connect to a server near to your location for faster service. I'm not sure why they have not included the Key Area function in the international servers, it's a shame. I'm guessing it's related to cloud service and additional computing requirements to the cloud servers to detect movements in a specific area. In the Chinese server, they also offer paid cloud storage services but not in the international ones. Anyways, I don't think they will add the key area function outside China in the future. @@DSmartLife Key area monitoring should not be dependent on cloud as its a software feature. I had contacted the imilab support who advised that the feature is under development and testing and will be released next year to everyone.

Some reviews write that the camera works only through wifi and if there is no wifi then there will be no connection via the local network (via cable)

@@asmaakter8165 Mi A3600/AX1800 is better than Huawei AX3 Pro in cooling performance. All Xiaomi/Redmi Wi-Fi 6 Routers have good ventilation for cooling but Huawei/Honor Routers lack good ventilation due to the compact form factor. The bottom of the router heats up very fast. Thanks.

What's the maximum microSD size it can handle?
In the EC3 product listing it says 256gb but N2 was 64GB. I haven't tested above 64GB. It will likely work till 256GB though. Thanks.
I have used 128gb card and works fine. It needs to be formatted in fat32 however.

Ideally speaking, not much different. But sometimes people complain that the Motion detection notifications come late. And some counties may face slow streaming speed over the internet via the Chinese servers and so on. A local server will be better in speeds of course. Thanks.
Most of the time for me is not possible to connect at all to the camera, chineese server and reset required.. picture quality some time is awful , like 360p. Sd card is died after week, so i am not recommend to buy at all this camera, better to invest in prooper one. Sadly, because is good looking camera for me...
@@digimaxi5 This camera can be connected to you local server and need not be connected to the Chinese server. I don't think there is much problem with streaming online though local servers. I have been using the N2 version for over a year now and I didn't find any problems. The Raw footage of the EC3 is 2K as I have shown at 10:02. Thanks for all your comments.

That is feedback echo noise, it usually happens when the source mic and the speaker are near to each other. Are you trying to use the voice talkback feature with your phone near to the camera? Please try it when you are far away from the camera. Please try and let me know. Thanks.
My unit wifi sucks , once we have brownouts reconnection is not possible
Your Camera cannot reconnect to the Wi-Fi after a power failure or the problem is just during a brownout? It can never reconnect(needing a reset) or it connects after a restart or after some time? The problem can be from your Router or the camera. To make sure the problem in with the camera, you can ensure that your Wi-Fi SSID is not hidden. And you can also set a separate 2.4GHz if you have a single Dual Band network. You can also try powering Off just the camera and power again to see if it reconnects and vice-versa. Anyways let me know the details. Thanks.

After having three of these for nearly a year, I don't recommend them, they have multiple disconnection issues and freezing. You can't trust in this toys. Looking forward for more professional alternatives.
Works fine, no disconnection or freezing for me, used 2 units since Mac 2021. My only gripe is 2 things, video is always zoomed in as default in the app and no tilt function.

Thank you for the great video. I have a problem hoping you can help me, I am using 2 Xiaomi IMILab EC3 cameras. The two cameras use two different wifi networks because they are very far apart. I can only view the camera on the computer when the computer and the camera are in LAN. I tried to change region, firmware upgrade but still failed (This is software that i use to view camera on may PC ruclips.net/video/iYeYlvX3alQ/видео.html). It shows "Establishing a safe connection..." Please help me, thank you very much
