  • Hello everyone, welcome to my channel!
In this video I chat about what I have been making so far this year, whats been inspiring me and how I have done so far with my 2023 Goals!
    Our Yarn Store: dandelionanddogwood.co.uk
My knitting patterns on Ravelry: tinyurl.com/2z...
My Knitting Patterns on Etsy: tinyurl.com/2q...
I am wearing: My Clandon Sweater ( www.ravelry.co... ) knit in our Kiki Delaine colour-way ( tinyurl.com/2e... ), Schiap lipstick by Nars and Model Citizen nail polish by Essie.
I talk about Heather Ross Fabrics, CSY Art Gallery paints, Educated by Tara Westover and our new colouway called Daisy Fellowes.
If there is anything else I mention that you would like details on please just ask!
I hope you enjoyed spending some time with me and that you are having a good, creative start to 2023 :)
    About Me:
My name is Ami Lowden, I design modern knitting patterns which you can find on Ravelry and Etsy, and own a hand-dyed yarn business with my sister called Dandelion & Dogwood.
My first love was sewing and I trained in Tailoring & Pattern-Cutting at London College Of Fashion. I wrote a sewing blog for years called Little Tailoress. I then gradually transferred my pattern cutting skills over to knitwear after falling in love with knitting for a second time after my first son was born.
I am inspired by a huge rage of things which is reflected in our Dandleion & Dogwood yarns and their quirky names.
I live in Surrey, England with my husband our two little boys and our two dogs.

My goodness, why have I just found you? You are a delight! I love everything you portray. First, your knitting is so gorgeous. Your color palette is so like mine. I love Oracle cards, and so wish I lived in the UK to join the club. And….Educated was a book that was hauntingly excellent! I read it when it came out, and remember it vividly. It certainly made an impact on me. I, too, enjoy Audible. I just finished Anne of Green Gable, and adored it. I also love to journal, although I do have a hard time keeping regular with it. Now that I’ve found you, I will go back and binge watch your podcasts. Enjoy every day…oh…I’m also going to check out, Paper-dolls….Also…I like Essie; it does seem to last longer. I was going to do my own dip nails, and have everything, but have never gotten to complete it. ❤

Hi, Ami...Your bullet journal is just beautiful! You are gifted at so many things, and I am always amazed at what you are able to accomplish with 2 little ones! It stands to reason that you are extremely disciplined, and use your time wisely. I have an artist friend who has been documenting her days for years by drawing and sketching in her journal each day. By now she probably has an entire library of them, and what a legacy they will leave! Can you tell me where you purchased your telescopic lamp that sits on your desk? Also, where you found your pink journal? Your sweater is so darling on you and I love the color! Thank you for sharing so many wonderful things with us!

I particularly enjoyed the excerpt about Shocking Pink from the colour book, what an interesting story. I have the Tracy Chevalier book in my ‘to read’ pile too. I will be interested to hear what you think of the book when you’ve read the second half.

      Hi Claire!
I have historically been exactly the same way! Every year 😆
I began trying in my paperchase grid page journal and it it bled through horribly. I asked for advice on Instagram and was recommended to get one with paper of 150 thickness and up. So I got the Ottergami one (it’s 160 thick and dotted) and I can literally use any pen/paint and nothing bleeds though at all!

Ah thanks so much, that's so nice to hear! Yes the watercolour is so quick but really makes the pages pretty! I think the idea of keeping a record of the books read over the year is so nice, and I feel like it is motivating to prioritise reading too!

My daughter-in-law loved that jumper in the tv show and asked if I could knit it for her? So enjoy watching your vlogs, thank you.

Lovely podcast thank you Ami. I’d love to see more journaling as you develop, it’s something I’m trying to do. I have a Hobonichi weekly planner along with my phone, so planning isn’t a problem, it’s the journaling I find harder. Can I ask what book is it you’ve bought, it’s such a gorgeous pink colour?
And at the age of 54 I still can’t paint my nails that doesn’t look like a 3 year old has done it 😆

    • @andotherknits
      @andotherknits  Год назад +1

Hehe, not the look alone is going for really ;) I bought the Ottergami Journal, I'm SO pleased with it. I got it after I was recommended one with thicker paper (I have was having serious pen bleed-through with my paperchase one) You can literally use any ink/paint with the Ottergami and nothing bleeds.
I was always really intimidated by blank journal pages but somehow this year I've managed to get past it. I'm sure it will morph as the year progresses but I'm looking forward to developing my page layouts!

I would love to test knit for you! I have done some tests through yarn pond which seems like a nice way to discuss and keep progress notes. My question is, would there be a way you would be able to tell me approximately how much yardage I would need to make your new sweater design that is currently with testers? It’s the one that you first talked about on this podcast episode. I want to order that exact yarn, the Pyrex colorway, and I am just not sure how much I would need to order. My bust size is 40 so I guess you can go from that. Thank you so much in advance, love all of your Podcasts and your designs!
