"can't look like the NFL or I won't watch". The fact people watch the NFL doesn't make that statement untrue. I know I'm not the only one who doesn't watch the NFL and loved college football for NOT being the NFL. I'm not saying no one will watch, but I am losing my refuge from soulless professional sports.
Nobody under 40 thinks Nebraska is nationally relevant except Nebraska fans. It may take a few more years to get there, but Nebraska fans will realize their time is over. Minnesota fans know it and Minnesota dominated in the 1950's.
I'm not saying I'm a fan of the 24 team playoff offered, but if we had to go to it, my belief would be it'd have to be a world cup style divisional rounds, such as A1 vs B2, A2 vs C1, A3 vs D4, A4 vs E3, or something of that nature to avoid every division automatically having rematches until possibly in full playoff, plus some divisions 4th place would be better than others 3rd place, so you'd get better teams in
I said it as everyone was saying they were going to kill it next year. Texas was load on the offense last year. Expecting them to go 10 wins 11 wins is crazy
Some points on Mizzou. First their schedule is not tough. It's actually as easy as any SEC team could ever expect to play. Far easier than lasts years schedule. Second, they replace their left tackle with proven transfer who may actually be better. Third, as good and E Rakestraw is at CB he won't be a huge loss from last years team because playing hurt most of the year and missed a ton of snaps. I believe he didn't even suit up for 4 games. Plus they add one of the top cb transfers the class. The big issue Mizzou will have is replacing Robinson and Baker. Even so they should really have no issue winning 9 to 10 games with the way their schedule is constructed.
The addition of Oklahoma and Texas doesn’t make the SEC any EASIER. I know Mizz has Alabama and Oklahoma in back to back weeks. We’ll have to wait and see how they react to 2 straight losses.
Look how they always praying on Michigan downfall. Didn't mention that Michigan can easily have the best defense in the country again next year. We won 12 games with Cade McNamara at QB, prepare for another 10 + win season and playoff berth again HATERS
@keynojuan we recruit the right kids not the overly entitled " im a 5 star I should get the start just because ".. let these recruiting sites give the offseason natty we will have to re earn it on the field and once we beat satan down south they'll just cry " cheaters" ..
@keynojuan hey man let osu get their offseason title ( dallas Cowboys). we will just earn it again.... if I was a coach on Michigan staff I would want a 3 star that's a dawg and works his ass off to earn everything then a spoiled entitled 5 star bust..
As a lifelong Michigan fan I’m tempering expectations for a few reasons. First is the fact that they have a new HC, assistant coaches and strength/conditioning coach even though many are familiar with the program. Second is the schedule, because it’s one of the toughest in the nation. Third is the quarterback situation, no clear starter even though they return experience at the position. All that being written, I won’t be surprised if they win 10+ games or go 8-4, but I’m certainly excited to watch this fall.
Mr. Staples, try this concept on. The Super League should be linited to the 10 very best teams. That's including only teams that actually are Super. They would play a round robin schedule, providing the very best money making opportunities. The top 2 teams will play for the title & $$$ associated with the title World College Football Champion !!! The remaining P3 or 4 teams would be pretty comprable, similar to a monster Big 12 conference. They could go with the 12 team CFP that has been approved. The Supers non-con oppponents would be guaranteed a stupendous payday to be involved. Big money gets bigger in the Supers while the rest of us get great, exciing & interesting games every week while not being ruined! Good for everyone!
I'm one of those people who say if CFB looks like the NFL, I won't watch. You say I will? You're wrong. I don't watch the NFL. If CFB is big business run by billionaires then not only will I not watch, my connection to may alma mater(s) will weaken. Don't ask me to be a booster for a corporation. Don't expect me to contribute to your endowment either. Changing the CFB to be more like the NFL will hurt the schools because it will weaken their bond with the people who actually care about the SCHOOL as opposed to just sports fans.
the argument i keep hearing is "we are going to expand our reach and bring in a whole new audience that otherwise would not be tuning into college football." No good outcome ever comes out of this situation. look at movie/video game franchises that release a new ip and have a cult following then change their operation and try to cash in on the biggest paycheck possible. The fast and furious movies went down hill quick. the expendabl got stale quick. sure call of duty and madden sell like crazy year after year, but the quality is by far inferior to their "golden days"
I'm actually very impressed with you 2 guys. Staples only wanted to ruin college sports and the other guy I don't knoe for adam. But you guys really are good. NEBRASKA-OKLAHOMA were the bestt teams 200 players could buy. Miami v Nebraska was like Super Bowl III.

Big facts. Same here. I didn’t watch an NFl snap all year. Had so much more time to spend doing better more fun things.
Wow I'm not alone .. To me football is ruined and we are being sold on something we will all regret in 5 to 10 years.
On3 using Nebraska or Matt Rhule on every thumbnail to being viewers lol. Can’t say I hate it, just funny.

How does “we’re tired of getting the town destroyed every spring break” = “don’t come unless you’re rich”. Crappy take.

Fsu gonna disappoint
Coach Rhule will get it done. GBR

No, really. If they go to two conferences etc. I’m done with watching.
Yeah right. I bet you don't watch the NFL or drink bud light either.
