I was recently testing it in this meta, bc I thought it would counter some card effects, since in this meta card effects are strong as hell and there aren't many counters against them. So I was testing it, basically forgot about that card and it destroyed everything. I've learned that it is a hard counter to spells like econ and superrush, most common trap cards like mirrorwall, wall of disruption, floodgate and puts so many decks under pressure, like gladiator beast's, cyber angles and six samurais. Whenever you have an "ace" monster which you need to protect, put it in your deck, it's so underrated in this meta. Spells and traps can be dealt with, what misses in this meta are good ways of protection against monster effects I guess
BaciNis Dimension Gate was very common in Handless Gaia decks, but since the release of Phoenix decks, people stopped playing it. It's like the Super Rush, everybody stopped playing it because of CA but it can be a good surprise card against a lot of decks.

So if a monster is unaffected by monster/card effects it doesn't matter, unless the monster can't be tributed or the card mask of restrict is on field you can go ahead and golem/kaiju ANY monster if your card allows you to tribute a monster. The only time this is in effect where it ignores a cards effect is if a card like the virus' are activated. It is unaffected so it can't be touched by the spell/trap even if the cost for activation is to tribute a monster. You will attempt to use the effect but it will resolve without effect, as its cost can not be/was not paid. Yu Gi Oh is weird.

Hey gunz, I am a long time player (since Jan/feb) and was very active, but had to take a break from like July-September and got way behind. I have been keeping up with recent events and buying new packs but don’t know what pvp decks to play anymore. Any decks that are competitive (aka KOG capable) that I should work towards now that all my decks are outdated? Speaking from a essentially F2P standpoint, but willing to grind hard.
How come when I normal summon my ra, I cant tribute life points to level up his attack. It doesn’t give me the option. It just sits there as a 0 attack 0 defense monster on the field.
I've been playing Ra out of a Naturia deck, been working well for me. Naturia swarm the board easy enough and can play on their own if needed. Been playing it with restart so I dont brick. Draining shields, wall of D , and econ to help with Naturia (especially since no beat down) some back up Aegis of Gaia for some good Ra plays, either clear the board of boost attack high. Also double summons so you can Ra out when you summon things with Naturia Pumpkin. Chucked in a couple regen slime as a backup but they can probably go.
Ra is fine with Marik's skill that lets Ra gain the combined ATK and DEF of the 3 monsters you tribute for it. I use it in a dark magician deck, since you can summon 2 of them with magician navigation, so its easy to get 3 monsters on the field. Add some traps and soul exchange and youll have almost always a Ra with 8000 ATK
The effect of Ra that negates everything when it summons doesn't work, it's buggy. Once Normal Summoned other cards and their effects cannot be activated, that includes Amazoness Sword Womans effect, but somehow it doesn't work. The effect still goes through
TRu3NZ That's not how the effect works. You can't use effects that work on summons like floodgate trap hole. After it is summoned it's a normal card basically.
TRu3NZ The part in Ra only applies to once it is summoned, meaning they cannot be activated the moment he is summoned, like mentioned. No cards are negated upon the summon of Ra.
PSA: you have unlimited attempts at level 50 Marik, and all you need to beat him is...a decently strong beater and enemy controller. Attack any second monster he has, then tribute take ra and attack. It’ll take some resetting for luck (use Restart to increase your odds) but it’s a simple and cheap solution

My lvl 50 marik hasn't spawned once do I have to trigger something or reach a certain amount of points
you have to reach 1 mil points and beat marik lv 40. once you've met the requirement, marik lv 50 will spawn in the duel world.

I had a very intricate strategy I used to beat level 50 Marik. I used E-Con to steal his Ra, then attacked with Ra.
Marik has a skill that gives the winged god the attack points of the monster's tributed instead of your life points
I’m kinda new to the game I’m wondering why you did not use Kaiba’s skill beatdown to push the Ra to 4,200 to kill in one attack
it's an ok idea, i have healing cards in this deck so i can get ra higher
you might as well use LP boost instead of beatdown so your ra can be 4900
gunsblazing you might as well don't play the deck at all, so you don't tilt yourself beyond infinity
