I am sure the ball isn't going to go 40yards farther but the box did say swing speeds 70 - 90 mph so the ball needs to spin more to stay in the air for those speeds, I believe you are 15 to 20 mph faster than recommended, I also just want to say I really look forward to your daily videos, love to watch them at the end of the day to relax !!!
James, for 40 years, companies have been saying the same thing: more distance, more accuracy, more spin, lower scores, and yet the results have remained unchanged...
Can't be legal if it's under sized. It's also not cheap. I bet a Callaway Warbird or TM/ Srixon Distance / Marathon at about $14 to $16/ dozen will likely fly further.
Hi James. Years ago, before my time, British Golf used a smaller ball. I’ve read of American golfers having to come to Britain earlier to get used to the smaller ball. Today there is 1 size golf ball.
As per the box, it is a ball for slower swing speeds and maybe someone with a slower swing speed would have gains with this ball vs a ProV1. Something to consider. Great videos ... keep them coming.
I have a box of new Dunlop DDH small balls from around 1985 , last time I used one in a bounce game, about 6 yrs ago, with driver it was 40 yards longer into a 30 mph wind than the other boys who I was usually level with give a yard or 2
To many players ,use proVI when they actually don't swing the club fast enough to compress the ball ,to benefit from the technology within the ball ,, for a pro VI you really need to be swinging at least innthe high 90s , mph .
I bought a box of that brand, not that smaller ball though. What I noticed was that they are really hot off the putter, it was hard no to hit it way past the hole.
Golf rules for the ball state "a golf ball has a mass no more than 1.620 oz (45.9 g), has a diameter not less than 1.680 inches (42.7 mm)". If this ball is smaller and heavier, it's a non-starter for any golf round.
I do like your attitude when you go into these types of reviews. Looking for the positives. Not like a certain reviewer in Manchester who goes in negative and looking for the negatives. So keep it up Robbo . The true test is if you can beat Gaz with it 😂
With that Manchester reviewer always feeling so certain of his abilities to distinguish (negative) differences from his perspective on equipment and balls after a couple of swings SMH
I don’t have a problem with my distance. Drives are 250-260 depending on the day and for the courses I play that’s more than enough. Rather have forgiveness
I might play those IF I believed the 40 yard claim. But I don't. Oh. Further into the video, it says they're non-conforming. Smaller and maybe heavier. So if you're not conforming to the rules of golf, you're not playing golf. Maybe using golf clubs on a golf course, but not actually playing GOLF. So of course anything can happen. Silliness.
You show the damage on the ball after one wedge shot, but I've had two different balls do that pretty consistently. One being some Cut balls that I tested because of their cost. The other is ProV 1's. Any time I hit a prov with my sand wedge I end up with flakes coming off the face of the ball
Thanks for be willing to try out such ridiculous claims and showing us the truth. I believe honorable golfers have integrity for the game and use conforming golf balls for even friendly matches. But it is fun to see you try out all of the different balls and clubs that seem to have unbelievable claims. Very entertaining!!
It is when Kirkland signature is praised by all these pga reaching pros praise it in head to head test on video. Pro v is the John Deere of golf. Everyone knows the name so they buy
@ praise, not use, either solo or professionally… a truly competent, achieved, and successful player ultimately plays the ball they play the best with, so they get more wins… This “it’s only the money” BLSHT cope from uneducated clowns has to stop at some point. Yes, money matters, but if you truly believe that pros or this caliber are willing to compromise their careers, money& legacies over a period contract with a wholesale warehouse which could end at any moment… you’re truly fkndmber than your comment reflects. But that takes an education. You’re most likely a Republican with your lack of logical processing skills.

A launch monitor won't show the difference of the smaller golf ball. The extra distance comes from less wind resistance.

I did not see a lot of distance, but they were consistent. I love them!
I tried these balls and went from 282 yards with ProV1, to 798 yards with this ball. 👍

Well done James 👏 do we as golfer s get too fixated on distance mmm 😊
I could be legal back to the day that British ball size applied (1.62 inches) 😅
Can I ask I am playing with sixzon soft feel and it feels like it faster off the club face and other balls is at me or the ball
What was your swing speed? The box said for golfers with 70-90 mph swing speed

Callaway chrome x tour is about 10 yds further than pro v with 98~103 ss.
There was a time when you could play smaller balls in the Open Championship. The R&A gave the player the choice.
Maybe a bit into the wind like the old links ball? 🤷♀️
How about a comparison of a 3w @ 16.5° and a 5w @ 16.5°
Nice chip..

U can play any courses with those distances!
Well, your second chip shot went miles too far, so there COULD be something in it, eh? 😁
Great content, as always, James!
Hahahahaha one of your best yet Steve
@JamesRobinsonGolf regardless If it went further or not, on our channel it always goes in the trees 😂
This ball look,s like the balls when I started golf back in the 1960 when you had a British ball and a American ball
That’s a shame, I was just about to order some 😂😂
😂😂😂
Is it legal ?

there is a legal limit on the minimum size and weight of a golf ball. read the rules
All of these balls that claim to go further.Seem to go shorter.Have you ever played a ball that was illegal that actually went further?
if it sounds too good to be true then.............
Its called "lying" been around in marketing FOREVER. lol

PW 170 yds ? Who you kidding?
Are you ok?
What do you accept. Lol😂
Golf and fishing gear fulfill the same need: satisfying a fragile ego.
Can't stand pro v1 balls. Callaway all the way.
Why?
Pro V1 is the most overrated golf ball
Tell us you can’t afford Pro V1s without telling us…
Never mind, you just did.
Well it’s not…🤣 You’re comment is

It’s very bad for putting 😂
40 yards? 😂😂, not even 4 yards longer. But, thanks save my money tho, 😊

Crazy init!
