My name is Karen Blackwood. I'm a sophomore here at NSU majoring
in criminal justice. People usually ask me at home, friends and
family yk, a day in the life of an athlete - when do you get up?
How do you start your day?
Truth is I start about 5:45 in the morning. I get ready to go
weight train at 6:30 a.m. It usually lasts about an hour. It's
really nice to have a brand new facility that's only two years
old, that's state of the art that I can really just train and
focus on what I need to, to be a better athlete.
On Wednesday, since I have class from 6-10, I go ahead and do my
conditioning at the gym and then go to breakfast at Starbucks
with my teammates. Afterward, I go back to my room. I do about
two, two and a half hours of homework before I go to practice.
Classes here are very difficult. You have to make sure that your
academics do come first and then your athletics. At about
twelve, I go to practice. Our tennis courts are off campus so I
drive across the street to go to the courts by Will and Kell
Graduate dorms.
Speaker 2: We're going to have an uncut match today between Kami Andrea
and that person is going to play six.
Yes I have. I can't wait. Thanks so much for replying!
So inspiring!!!
Woahhh only four hours of sleep.????
It's a good thing we have a Starbucks right on campus :)
Hey, I was accepted into Nova and I wanted to join the women's soccer team. I'm going to the open house on the 16th, does anyone know who I should talk to? Thank you. Go Sharks!

Crazy
Hi Erin! You're going to love Open House on March 16th! You can talk with current students when you arrive and take a tour of campus. We'll have representatives from Athletics on hand, so they can answer any of your questions. Have you RSVP'd yet?
