@joandevries1256 Yes Sir! he did an amazing job! I just preferred Andy Whitfield but since he was not able to finish out the series they found an amazing substitute!
Cannot get enough of this series, both the Andy and Liam versions. Both are brilliant and evocative 😊in their own right. I think he is one of the most herioc figures in history.

Spartacus is one of the best historical series there has been. It's style is suitable for expounding on the fact that Rome was bloody and parts of it's moral or immoral character if you wish is beyond what can even be shown on video today at least in legal terms. It's writing was top notch and even though the main actor Andy Whitfield passed they were still able to replace him acceptably and end the series with honor and in an entertaining fashion. This is unheard of and too bad they could not have realized the HBO series Rome to the same extent. Thanks for the video.
What you never have thought is this: If Spartacus could turn around the Roman world And he could have the Romans as slaves he would have done that. His rebellion was not about stop slavery, but about to make another state out of Rome.
Crassus: It is unfortunate that you had not been born a Roman. We could have fought side by side as brothers. Spartacus: Then I thank the gods, that it was not so.
I thoroughly enjoyed the full Spartacus series and last episode was incredible. Spartacus's death was treated also like when Christ was taken down from the Cross where he was surround by compatriots at his death and the clouds parted and sun shined upon him. I was blown away by that cause I was rooting for the army of slaves and not the Romans.
Spartacus was a great t.v. series, Andy Whitfield took that character to another level, sad that they failed in freedom and good that they took a lot of roman's with them..
He probably did alot more and beat them even worse cause if you think about it it's Rome that wrote the history and they would make themselves look good at every turn
Fun fact about Spartacus. His great grandpas were King phillip cousins living just 10km away from Pella and have had a beef with him aswell. Thus, Spartacus was blood related with Alexander the Great.
I never understood why Spartacus just didn’t leave Italy. The man had fought his way out of chains and had so many opportunities to leave but I guess he really did think he could defeat the Romans which at the time it was just impossible to do with no professional army.
correct me if im wrong but this doco says that was Spartacuses goal, but his co commanders seemed to want to stay and fight. And youd need to stay with ur men id almost garauntee you couldnt walk off on ur own back then he wouldve been found and tortured immediately.
His name was Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus. (Pompey the Great, or, less affectionately, adulescentulus carnifex- the teenage butcher- earned during his years spent hunting down and executing Sulla's political opponents.) There was no Sextus in his name..
@@mrhumble2937 Nah, Crixus was a Spartacus wannabe. An Alpha at best. Gannicus was always, unapologetically, his own man. And we all know Sigmas outclass Alphas. Always.
It’s funny how all these illustrations picture Spartacus (and his comrades who struggled to find food most of the time) with a bodybuilder’s shape that is near to impossible to reach even with modern training, perfect diet and supplements 😂. Unless anabolic steroids were handed to them from ancient aliens 😉
Absurde absolu ! Spartac est trac et leur place de naissance est un Bulgarie région de ville Sandanski et pas en macedonie .c'est une fact ictoric bien noté dans les chroniques de chroniqeures romain encienes.
Really don’t know if to trust this documentary, one moment they are fighting near Sicily, next moment they are in the alps. Almost impossible with a 100.000 plus army I would say
Did not Spartacus ultimately meet his fate at the sharp end of an impalement stake? Like his made-up name, we do not need to believe any of this legend, right?
Spartacus did not defeat the Roman Empire, he marauded within Italy during the Roman Republic, which was anything but "almighty". He was a trained soldier and an auxiliary of the Roman Army that broke his oath to his command and ended up in chains for it, which was appropriate for anyone who broke their commitments in ancient military orders. He was given the opportunity to have a place withing civilization. an opportunity anyone in his position would have dreamt of, but instead chose to rampage through Italy and slaughter innocent civilians along the way.
No, he did not defeat the Roman Republic (the Empire wasn't around yet). But he is remembered even now as a symbol of the oppressed standing up to the oppressor, and has inspired many people since.
Since when Thrace is North Macedonia And why did you show the place of birth of Spartacus in Bulgaria but didn't mention it? How much did you get paid for that lie?

What a warrior, their rebellion really did a number on Rome and they even went down in legend
Crassus: It is unfortunate that you had not been born a Roman. We could have fought side by side as brothers.
Spartacus: Then I thank the gods, that it was not so.
Spartacus: Most likely the same out come the civil wars that Rome had , Capua was a Greek colony where you think Rome got it all from
Also Rome writes the history since they won, like Crasses loses the first battle his men retreating. Of course its written he didnt order the attack.
He did what he had to do by sheer will and determination. It really makes you think of what one man can accomplish if he sets his mind to it ⚔️
He accomplished nothing practically. Rome became even stronger and slaves more smart than him became free citizens.

Italy was Rome's weakest turf. Almost all of their army was outside of it. Spartacus mostly fought against militias and newly raised troops.
