CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Clouseau (Peter Sellers) tries out the parallel bars and drops in on some suspects, literally.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Most Inspector Clouseau fans regard The Pink Panther Strikes Again as the best of the clumsy Parisian detective's "comeback" films of the 1970s. Driven insane by the stupidities of Clouseau (Peter Sellers), ex-inspector Dreyfuss (Herbert Lom) transforms into a master criminal. Kidnapping the inventor of a death ray, Dreyfuss threatens to use the demon device indiscriminately unless Clouseau is offered as a "sacrifice." A hunted man, Clouseau is forced to adopt one transparent (but hilarious) disguise after another. He is rescued from being incinerated by Dreyfuss when Soviet spy Olga (Leslie Ann Down) falls in love with him and strives to protect him.
CREDITS:
TM & © MGM (1976)

I'm here because of CONAF. Loved this.
Conan with Russell Brand 👍😎
Reggie watts
@@waynedamron8006 Yep
Conando and Reggie
Conan and Reggie !
I laugh every time even though I know it's coming. One of the best-timed gags of all time.
Ive seen this scene a million times and its still so funny.
Same here. Lmfaooooo!!!
True me too
Reminds me of my days at the academy.
I saw it at the theater in 1976 and hurt myself laughing. I just burst out laughing, sitting here all by myself again. I don't know why it's so FUNNY. Its even funnier if you watch the entire movie and things build up to this. lol
It doesn't age one bit.
Came here after Conan mentioned it to Russell Brand
amazing me too
idem
had to pause and come here for the same reason
Same!!!
here too!
The old woman screaming when he steps on her foot always kills me adding to the hilarious stairs scene. 😂
When he falls down the stairs, I just lose it. Showed to someone who had never heard of Peter Sellers or The Pink Panther (a 15 year old) and when she saw this she nearly wet herself laughing.
Uaaah
Showed my 14 year old son today… same reaction 😂😂
But it is hilarious!!! Lmfaooooo!
I about choked on the popcorn at the movies😅
Well! That felt good!
Who else came here to relive childhood memories when watching this with family?
On the parallels. Funniest Peter Sellers scene ever.
I was 15 when I first saw this; and I never remembered laughing hard then, or even now. These movies are pure cinematic gold.
Best watched on a TDK E180 with adverts for Rumbelows, with your Dad's numbering system on the tape
I do ! Kaattoooooooooo 😂
I come here to relive being in the stage version I high school.
I watched this movie in Chile, 35 years ago. Still so funny to see this scene,
Inspector Clousseau’s cry when he’s falling down the stairs always has me in stitches!
Weird edit though - you can tell the scream was dubbed in over his line "I remember it-"
Who else is here because of the Reggie Watts episode of Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend?😂
I give the rest of the cast credit for keeping a straight face throughout this scene.
😂😂😂 I’m 42 years old and I still remember clear as day when my dad introduced me to the comedy of Peter Sellers. My dad passed away in the summer of 2022 and it breaks my heart that I can’t share the laughs with him anymore. He introduced me to a lot of great comedies and comedians when I was growing up. The Pink Panther movies, Animal House, Monty Python, Young Frankenstein, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Lenny, Bruce, George Carlin. The list goes on and on. My dad was the greatest and I’m so grateful for him showing me what great comedy truly is.
I could have written this word for word ❤ I am 49. My entire childhood. My father passed 5 years ago and it was he who introduced me to those too 😊
RIP to your old man. He showed ya the good stuff!
conan needs a friend episode with reggie watts brought me here. did not disappoint.
Here because of Conan and Reggie Watts. Had to see this my self
Me and my grandpa use to watch this scene a million times 😭😭man I miss those memories
Stuntman falls down stairs, vanishes behind sofa where Sellers waits and rises where his stand in is unseen...great stunt technique with comic timing!
You ruined it for me!
...see it again to catch the original replacement of Sellers with the stuntman. It's just after the 'Pavlova of the Parellels' statement when he jumps and does the half-turn.
That kind of stunt is called a “Texas switch”
Ah....Inspector Clousseau in his eternal battle against the Laws of Physics.
The sighting down one of he bars is the funniest part to me.
I just love the way he starts singing before he falls
Another completly hilarious scene.. thanks for sharing for us..
I saw this in a cinema in 1982.Never laughed so hard. Before or since.
82 u sure..this was released in 76...sellers died in 80..
Neither did I only just saw it and couldn't see the following scenes for the tears of laughter that were obscuring my view😂😂😂
I think it was part of the end credits Sellers tribute in Trail of the Pink Panther...indeed released in 82
THIS is Clousseau......Steve Martin, you're awesome, but only Peter Sellers is Clousseau.
Totally true
Agreed!! No one could ever replace the original! 👍👍
Some movies just shouldn't be remade. This is a classic. Steven Martin as the Inspector, ahem.. CHIEF Inspector was an embarrassment to see. Just like how Johnny Depp and Tim Burton disgraced the Willy Wonka movie. Gene Wilder was the reason why that movie was so good and original.
Yeagh i agree theres only one
Martin was HORRIBLE, I don’t know why they didn’t use the Mr Bean guy. Surprisingly Alan Arkin wasn’t bad though.
One of the funniest scenes in movie history.
Peter Sellers was truly a comedic genius.
Yes It's all coming back now.
This is one of the funniest scenes in cinematic history; so funny that I cry and hyperventilate from laughing so hard.
Every time i watch this i try to see if i can hold my laugh. I fail every time. When he falls down the stairs i lose it.
The first time I saw it, it was so unexpected that I could not stop laughing long after that scene was over. I'm sure it annoyed everyone at the theater, but I couldn't help it. Brilliant acting, directing, stunt work, and editing. Flawless scene. Actually, all of these Sellers films were full of brilliantly flawless scenes, but this particular one is one of my absolute favorites. Whenever I have people over to see this film, this scene never fails to crack everyone up. Peter Sellers was, and remains, a worldwide treasure, bringing joy to millions.
Blake Edwards traversed in and out of comedic timing. What a master.
Yes, it's all coming back now...
My favourite scene. Still hilarious after millions of repeats
When he hits the bag as hard as he can and just keeps moving cause it probably hurt like hell haha.. *R.I.P. Peter* Thanks for the laughs
Here because of the Conan O’Brien interview with Reggie Watts. 😂 worth it.
Same lol
Me knew this since the 80s I am 50.
Here from Conan's podcast!
Same!
Same!!!
Ah yes. It’s all coming back to me now!
I was seven years old when my mother and I saw this at a theater and It's still just as funny so many years later.
this never fails to reduce me to tears, so very very funny
When I saw this scene the first time I didn't know what was coming of course. I laughed until I could breathe.
Peter’s interrogation method is hilarious 🤣
🙏🏽 for the laughs and memories.
One of the best.
Why is this so funny
King of comedy
How that stuntman didn't fall on top of Peter Sellars is a miracle
So damn funny, this set of movies just oozes with pure comedy that never will be seen again.
This "pavlova gag" is one of the best in history....just look how he strokes the bar, this is only a thing that one mad comedian can do!
"Yes it's all coming back now hehe, oh yes i remember...Aaaah! Well THAT FELT GOOD!"
Maybe this is the best lines in comedy ever? This line and "My greedy little yellow pimp" he said when Cato opened up a pleasure parlour when he thought that the chief inspector was dead.
who's this pavlova anyway?
This never gets old. Hilarious 😆
The Pavlova of the Parallels.😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
laughing to tears, priceless
My 10 yr old son told me that he watched the Pink Panther (the ones with Steve Martin) at a friend's house. I told him how this was probably the funniest scene I had ever seen in a comedy in my life. Classic! We are going to watch the real Pink Panther movies.
Cool story.
0:23 🎶 Ah yes. I remember.🎶 Ahhhh!!! That part it honestly felt like he was the singing
This scene is beloved by my family! This whole movie is IMHO, the best Pink Panther movie! 🤣
The pavlova of the parralells gold
Saw this movie for the first time early last year and I about died laughing at that dismount! 🤣
1:26 "swine knight" lol
That poor knight didn't do anything and Clouseau destroyed him
Peter Sellars at his best in Pink Panther films...love them.
WELL....That Felt GOOD! 😂
My Grandfather showed me this movie when I was 10 and it was my favorite. Still laugh like crazy.
Well! That feels geeud!! Lol
Me because whenever I try to explain the scene am in stitches and people can't make out what am trying to say in between gasps.. So I now resit to just sharing this.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥵🤣🤣🤣🤣🥵🤣🤣🤣
0:20 "yes it’s all coming back now" Must have laughed at that sentence for 20 years..
Yes, yes. I know. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:24 XDXDXD
This makes not only my dad laugh, but makes him tense and makes his shoulders rise in an empathetic reaction when he dropped steeply down the stairs like that! 🤣
I can't stop laughing n shet😆😆😆😆😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💀😆😆😆😆😁👌🏾
LOL at 0:34 you can see Sellers stepping over the stuntman on the floor behind the sofa.
Funniest scene in movie history !
seaness267, I think the exact same thing!! Just saw this movie recently and this scene is the best one I've ever seen in any movie. The lady says "But that was a priceless Steinway", and Clouseau says "Not anymore."!! LOL
Peter Sellers was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!
Whos is here because of Conan needs a friend Reggie Watts episode
Same lol
My grandad god rest his soul found this scene helerious 😅 and its still is even today
This never gets old haha 😄
This "'The Pavlova of the Parallels''' was all day in my head. :D :D :D
That's a Priceless Steinway, not anymore
Never get tired of this, so funny 🤣🤣🤣
I rememb-WAAAAAAAHH
HE WAS MARVELOUS. NOT SORRY STEVE MARTIN YOU JUST DON'T COMPARE. MISTER SELLERS WAS ONE O A KIND.
What does it for me is when they’re trying to reassemble the knight. 😂
I've seen this maybe half a dozen times over the years and it makes me laugh every time
WELL! That felt GOOD!
conan
When he steps on the lady’s foot😭😭😭
Comedy Genius
Probably the best scene ever created! It´s even better though if the minute before is included i the clip.
Peter Sellers had perfect timing for his goofy antics.
Ah yahss...I remembuAAHYIIEEYAA!! ABC would always show that "dismount" bit on the promo commercial for Pink Panther SA...at 9 years old I would just howl with laughter. Peter Sellers, thanks for everything. Genius.
No comedy that comes out today come anywhere near this or any comedy made between the 60s and 90s for that matter. Comedy just isn’t allowed to be funny anymore.
NOBODY could have played Clouseau as well as Sellers.
I just realized the glove is stuck because he punched the bag and his hand is probably swollen.
"That Felt Good!!" 😂
The gardener is the old man that Rick berates in the DHSS office during the Bomb episode of The Young Ones
How do you do that by accident 😂
Fuckin hilarious!!!!
People needed nerves of absolute steel to work with Sellers.
AND THE GOLD MEDEL GOES INSPECTOR J. CLOUSEAU.
0:24 😂
"I was something of an astra-lete, you know" 😂😂
Hi im Inspector Clousseau and welcome to Jackass!
Now this is comedy 😂😂😂😂😂
Don't forget about his time on the treadmill too 😂😂😂
his attempt at a recovery after his plummet down the stairs is the best part lol!!!
How did he make that noise when he was falling.
truly genius
Classic
0:26 the way he screams kills me 😂😂😂😂😂😂
