  • Heloo.
I have made an example how to make a custom voice in Yamaha Expansion Manager (YEM) v 2.5.0 (first version ready for Genos).
I have added a wav file, in the first element, only on C3 key. I have set a velocity of 1-100 to this wav, after that on the same element I have added another wav file, on the same key, but started from 101-127.
In this way you can make your own MegaVoices, but it is better to use the same rules as Yamaha did, about velocities.

Very informative. And for Mega voices what about the touch off feature and set it where you use multiple waves in each velocity range and eash one has its own volume fixed. Also if you don’t mind make a video about creating a mega voice using this method

This is awesome! (Is this video missing sound?) And where can I get more info on Yamaha's rules for velocity? Thanks!

Yes. missing sound, because video was made using desktop capture software, and the sound was bypased to keyboard thru USB cable (Midi)

Thanks! You said in the description, "it is better to use the same rules as Yamaha did, about velocities." What are those rules?

A MegaVoice on Yamaha is base on a couple of samples on each note. This means every sample must start on an expression level, and , of course, stops to some expression level.
      The levels are:
      1- 20 Open soft
      21- 40 Open med
      41- 60 Open hard
      61- 75 Dead
      76- 90 Mute
      91-105 Hammer
      106-120 Slide
      121-127 Harmonics
(greetings to Paul Drongowski AKA pj, from psrtutorial forum ;) )
It is better when you create MegaVoice voices, use the same levels Yamaha uses, because if you want to change with one of the presets MegaVoice. Everything will match, even if you will
      make changes ;)

I don't get anything like that when I load a wav.

Yes, it is possible if wav file is not in the correct format. You must use only wav files which has maximum of 44100Hz, mono or stereo.
