      But they aren't doing well, not sure where you're getting your news/information from. More Ukrainian men have left the country (much like Denys) than are/have served in the armed forces since the invasion. 50% of Ukrainian battalions are under 75% manned. And nearly 75% are what western militaries would classify as "combat ineffective"
      And freedom??? Buy your way out of enlistment... shutter elections, arrest opposition leaders... rampant corruption...

      The US's substantial stockpile of Atacms missiles would have been removed from US inventories regardless whether Russia had invaded Ukraine. There was no need to extend their service life as the Precision Strike Missile comes into full production. (The first PrSM was delivered in December 2023, with accelerated production ramping up in progressing months). Most likely, the displaced longer range Atacms will be transfered into Ukraine's inventory at the same rate as PrSM are produced. That is, unless the Taiwan situation heats up.

    On native Ukrainian born congresswoman not supporting Ukriane, it shows that support for Ukraine does not depend on where one is born but on one's values. For example, General Syrskyi is an Ethnic Russian born in Russia and he is the leader of the Ukraine army.

    • @scrapiron1525
      @scrapiron1525 Месяц назад

      I think you are not understanding American politics just like Denys does not. I know she is 100% a Ukraine supporter. Once the Bill was finally up for vote, it no longer needed her support. (More Republicans voted to proceed to vote than supported the final vote.) Once and if the Bill got up to a vote, the democrats were 100% going to vote for it to protect Biden and themselves. Her vote for it was unnecessary at that point. So, she voted against to nullify any threat of getting knocked off in a future primary from the far right. This ensures that she will still have a seat in congress to lobby and vote for Ukraine when a possible future need arises. The far right MAGA movement wanted to bargain with the Ukraine aid for fixing the open border as it had been their political mantra Dems defend foreign borders through aid (including paying for foreign border walls) but won't defend our border or fund the border wall. Dems open border is a criminally self serving policy. The far right are 100% correct showing the dems hypocrisy and underhandedness. And things are very heated in partisan politics right now. Two wrongs don't make a right but the Maga movement lost sight of that in my opinion. Slava Ukraini!!

Taxpayer funded arms still have value. So it IS money going abroad, in the form of equipment, American resources like steel, semiconductors etc. All of these resources could have been used to rebuild American infrastructure if not used for weaponry that we are giving away. It has value. Maybe not the same value as it did the year it was built, but our old weapons are still clearly superior to anything out there based on field reports.

      The difference is that the U.S. can ship literally a thousand Bradleys in a couple of weeks (out of our 250,000 total vehicles in reserve) - we have immensely large stocks of most things, ready to go. Miles and miles of them in several military bases as large as some small countries. Most of Europe has to spend time producing items. We just need to ship it over. And as for ammunition, I believe we keep a few *billion* rounds of small arms as a stockpile "just in case". (and about 400 million artillery shells - oof) This aid, while late, is a huge game-changer and puts Russia in a no-win situation. Yes, I know that the issue is that certain specific shells and rounds are in short supply, but I don't think anyone in Ukraine is going to complain about a bunch of slightly different munitions at this point - a gun is a gun, an artillery round is as well, in the end.

    As I understand it, some things may start showing up very quickly. Some of these weapons are located at US bases in Europe. A lot of these may be moved almost immediately and later replaced on the bases. Although no one is saying it, there is some belief that over the last several months, some excess inventory was moved/pre staged at those bases. It is not unusual for some excess weapons to be stored on us bases located in other countries. For example most of the 155mm cluster shells are considered excess inventory. I'm sure Ukraine could use these to good effect on territory recently taken over by Russia, but with low resources. believe that Ukraine may be able to hammer these relatively weak Russian positions and potentially reclaim them fairly easily.

This doesn't include the cash for their refugees (500million) , nor does it include the several hundred million allotted in the yearly federal budget, nor does that include the billions in weapons. If you add up all the support we have given ukraine, they are in debt to the US for the next 1,000 years (and that's if they give us 100% of their budget). Sorry, they aren't a bulwark, at best they're cannon fodder. The US strategy isn't to win, its to not let Ukraine lose.
