- Ithaca probably is most famous for the university that resides here - Cornell University.
I was so fortunate to have visited this city during Cornell's graduation day. The town is more than lively and beautiful.

Ithaca is a city and college town in the Finger Lakes region of New York, United States. It is the seat of Tompkins County, as well as the largest community in the Ithaca-Tompkins County metropolitan area. This area contains the municipalities of the Town of Ithaca, the village of Cayuga Heights, and other towns and villages in Tompkins County. The city of Ithaca is located on the southern shore of Cayuga Lake, in Central New York, about 45 miles (72 km) south-west of Syracuse. It is named after the Greek island of Ithaca.[2] Additionally, Ithaca is located 124 miles (200 km) southeast of Buffalo, 247 miles (398 km) southeast of Toronto, 223 miles (359 km) northwest of New York City, 230 miles from Philadelphia, 350 miles from Cleveland, 360 miles from Boston, and 325 miles from Washington, D.C.
Ithaca is home to Cornell University, an Ivy League school of over 20,000 students, most of whom study at its local campus. In addition, Ithaca College is a private, nonsectarian, liberal arts college of over 7,000 students, located just south of the city in the Town of Ithaca, adding to the area's "college town" atmosphere. Nearby is Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3). These three colleges bring tens of thousands of students, who increase Ithaca's seasonal population during the school year. The city's voters are notably more liberal than those in the remainder of Tompkins County or in upstate New York, generally voting for Democratic Party candidates. As of 2020, the city's population was 32,108.

My home town. 1968. Love it.
Driving in Ithaca is such a pain.
I'm visiting this area next week. Is there any particular town or city I should check out in the Finger Lakes area? I'll be coming from Rochester NY.
definitely check out Ithaca and Watkins Glen. They are about 40 minutes apart.
It's my first night here coming from the city, I'm in Dryden😃
Honking your horn during a video kills the experience.
place is trash. roads are terrible, cost of living is way too high.
Do jobs pay good there? Trying to move to NY state from Florida.
@@pithaywood unfortunately, no.
@@ralphharrison6622 and they converted orange street lights to led's.
It's the worst deal in NYS, really high cost of living and offers nothing but pot-holes unless you're student or working at Cornell in some high-paying job. Most Cornell jobs don't pay enough to live here.
@@bigwetbutt very true. i live in slattervile, just outside ithaca, and drive thru everyday. constant road construction, year after year, but nothing gets fixed.
What an absolute shit patch of NY state, downtown Ithaca (watefalls aside) is Halloween all year long. Meth-heads in Wegmans, trans people walking naked through the trails, college students driving 100k cars while texting -- what a hell. Drive 30 minutes north of Ithaca and you'll be in the actual Finger Lakes, with nice lake views, public docks, old "Greek Revival" homes and wineries.
Lived there in the early 90's, and back then it was a lively bustling little city with the feel of a much larger city than it was. I loved it. Now it looks a bit dead and rundown than it did back then. Nice to see that it's going through a nice infrastructural renewal faze now. The population has jumped about 10% since 2000 as well, that's very impressive.
My old home town still looking good.
Lol 3:12 a car appears grand theft auto style

Only lively when the university students come.
I know that's why I can't wait to leave Ithaca for good one day

You're on a bike?
That’s my old hood!!!!
I have lived here for a year and it's always been boring since day one. There is literally nothing to do in this college town. Can't wait to move to Georgia in a few years.
Georgia lol. You sound like a 12 year old. If you’re bored in Ithaca, it’s you that’s boring
