Odissi is from Orissa, it is known for it's Tribhangi...the three parts movement (the head, pelvis and chest move separately). Kathak is a fusion of Indian classical dances and Mughalai dances (not precisely from Maharastra). Classical dances are often "fun" and are not always religion oriented, but they tend to be based off of religion...
