Apart from common marketing as entry level Dreads, they are quite different. Most notably, Yamaha has 10mm string spacing, Cort 11mm. I own multiples of both brands in both acoustic and electric guitars. Despite Yamaha's erstwhile reputation, derived from their past performance IMEO, Cort offer better value for money and their production standard and QC is higher. What Yamaha spend on high profile advertising and promotion, Cort put into their guitar build quality. So in my opinion, to my tonal taste and for component quality along with fretting friendliness (neck profile, string spacing) and overall value i.e. OEM coated D'Addario phosphor bronze strings fitted OOTB on the AD810, Cort's AD810 would be my choice between those two, although if prejudiced toward the F310 because of the Yamaha branding, you wouldn't be disappointed if you buy it. Either are up to the job.

I believe the OP means open pore. So filler is not used on the mahogany which gives it a different look and feel.
