I think this goes even deeper than clock’s birthday being forgotten, like many people have theorized, remember, it came from the sky, where we also saw the channel number in episode five. So I think the present is basically this universe’s version of announcing whether or not a show has been renewed based on the company’s and viewer’s interest, and the gift being empty means that everyone has stop caring for ITFT as a whole, so the world and life as clock knows it will end soon, that’s why they become manic and depressed at the end, that’s why they were so attached to the gift, it was something that literally meant life to them, and that’s also why they couldn’t bring themselves to open it, in case they were met with devastating results. They spent the whole episode delaying the inevitable and telling themselves everything was going to be fine.

Okay so, I have a theory.
We got 6:58 now and it showed that the box contained a fragment or the full on Polka-Dot portal, The Void destroyed that world meaning either
A) That was a previous show Clock hosted and the box was a glitch in the programming
B) Same as A but, Clock managed to escape and started with a new show and when the present landed clock wouldn't want to open it to not unleash The Void and when he saw that the box was empty he knew that the Polka-Dot Void was already in that world and was slowly consuming things one by one.

Clock is sad, probably because people forgot his birthday. It shows how object clock was alone and sitting by himself. He acts weird because he has never met new friends. Remember wheel being called? He wants wheel to be back.. So he's not in controll in the eleminations.
This also comes back to the birthday card in episode 1! Seeing as how trevor from channel 56 has a human name but is an object. It could be that object clock's name is lucas.

I like to imagine that after the show is over, Clock will just bring back the contestants like it's nothing, and Polka Dot will ask about him "not knowing what happened", with Clock just responding "nuh uh" and disappearing.
I found that the real music intro is called ¨you dont know my name¨ its sounds ¨Ow! ohh, ohh, ohh¨ and the piano track, but the one I heard so similar to the show it was ¨will you ever know?¨ who is the same thing is says in the final part of ITFT [6:00]. So I investigate when the music release date and It was release in 2003, so I guess the show was release at the end of 2003 or at the beginning of 2004. Thats why the music its sounds like retro, and the titles are of songs retro ( at ITFT [5:00] to ITFT [7:00] ). Also at 12:15 its the same song that its sounds at ITFT [6:00] at the finale.

Okay guys hear me out, you know each elimination someone dies. What if all Clock's friends died and he made the contents act like his old friends (Or they are his old friends) and made the show as a coping mechanism. Maybe the show's name is "It's time for letting go of the past." 13:43 Look how excited Clock gets when he thinks Wheel is back. He gets genuinely happy at the thought of Wheel coming back, he clearly cares about them.
Edit: I wanted to add more, the theme of birthday keeps coming up. The card from the first episode and now this gift. Birthdays are usually associated with fun but important for my little theory, growing up. Growing up and letting go of the past, something Clock has been desperately been avoiding. He's scared of moving on, because all of his happiness was in the past, and moving on to the future, growing up, means he has to let all that go. And go to unexplored possibilities and chances, he's scared of moving on. But no matter what, the clock keeps ticking. Time keeps going, stopping for no one. I know I said the full title is "It's time for letting go of the past." But maybe the full title is actually "It's time for moving on."
