@ArnitraFitzhugh-mx1gq I actually received a band scholarship to TSU from Mr. Clarence in 2005. I'm kicking myself for choosing UAPB (they were offering more money. Lol) but I LOVE Htown, TSU and I love your band! That's why I auditioned. 🤘🏾💙
Sooooooo Proud of Brian Simmons and TSU Band!!!🔥🔥🔥 "When we rise, we bring everybody else with us!" Yessir! This is the way HBCU bands are supposed to behave.
So proud of the TSU band. What an epic performance of skill and showmanship. And the greater meaning of bringing the roots, culture and traditions to life with Queen Beyonce.
The entire band did FANTASTIC. Loved when he said just live up to the standard. Beyoncé brings out the perfection in anything she does. So glad she got a band that can reflect that! Great job to everyone on a beautiful jaw-dropping show!

Go TSU band!! HBCU baby! Yes I think the HBCU bands here in Texas should get more recognition than what they get and I wanna say thank you Ms Beyoncé.🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽♥️
I am a proud graduate of an HBCU in NC. I was a dancer in the band, so I know how exciting this experience was. it was a joy to watch and I am proud of you and the band members. Congratulations!
This halftime show made me American Proud. Texas really is a beautiful state and if it had the right leadership man it would be really amazing. I'm so glad they got this opportunity. They were damn good.

TSU is an awesome band!!! I was actually offered a band scholarship to TSU (I play flute and piccolo). Mr. Clarence was the band director then. This was in 2005. So, I actually know what he says to be true. What they did was nothing new. Awesome job!!! P.S. I'm from Chicago, but every time I come down to HTown, I hit that Frenchy's on Scott Street right across from TSU! Shout out to TSU and them too!💜🤣🤘🏾
See why I love some Beyonce...because mama have that mantra...if im eating...my people will eat too She make sure that black Texans can be real represented in this halftime
With utmost 6:25 sincerity, THIS confirmation by the production team and Mr. Simmons, means more to me than the Fandom surrounding this event. My kid is a Freshman, who entered with amazing qualities like humility, dedication, hard work, and drive. The Ocean's leadership team has fostered these qualities to the 10th power! Even their alumni chapter shows so much support. I applaud the excellent standards that exude throughout the band. This has been a huge transition for a mama bear like me, and I have trusted them without disappointment. THANK YOU for the validation. These directors are so talented and the best!#grateful #oceanontop #whoosh🌊 #percussionlivesmatter❤ #409proud #beaumontunitedalumni
Stop texting on your phone it’s rude and distracting, and makes the interview disingenuous. Anyhow congratulations TSU I absolutely love love the dancing life and that high energy of a band. Miss those days on the Alief fields….
Queen Beyonce is bringing solo much artistic excellence, cultural awareness and the light to the hidden history of black contributions to the foundation of America, and the racist practices that continue to hide and deny them. Princess Blue Ivy was a gem! Ashley is back! Best entertainer for my money and mind. Totally agreed with Queen Mother Tina - Yaya.
@@TayyLeeMazinWe not haters he’s just arrogant because he come from a band program and city who think they’re above everybody, therefore his heart isn’t in Ocean. He literally spoke about the New Orleans students who performed and not the band as a whole.
I'll wait on the naysayers with first hand knowledge... wait?... my kid started @ age 11 and is now 18. He does this "in real life" and said basically the same thing. The difference for him was only that there were way more people ON THE FIELD. Their work ethic is insane in all they do... YOU'RE WELCOME

I just found it interesting that he tried to downplay the magnitude of this performance and tried to low key equate their past performances, which I’m sure were spectacular, to the machinery, artistry and energy of Beyonce’s, which is beyond ridiculous. The person interviewing him picked up on this as well and had to bring him down to earth. He did not seem very gracious at all to me. Just my opinion.
