Hey Andy! This reminds me of a fun but sweaty summer when I was 15.... my first year doing hay. 1st cutting and second, I wind rowed and loaded square bails. It takes a ton of bales to fill those 52' vans 😪
#lazypondfarm it sure does! There’s been several times I thought I was going to pass out picking up square bales lol.. and no matter what it always seem to be the hottest day of the year!
Andy, if this is a '48 B how come it has square axles. I didn't think they came out until 1950 or so. the position of the decals on the side of the hood would also indicate a 1950 or later model, but it is the square axles that caught my eye. Great video and thanks for sharing!

Is your '50 B 6 volt? I am looking at a '51 that is 6 volt wondering how the 6 volt works? If I buy it not sure if I should shaould change to 12 volt system.
@@Marine-72 mine is 6 volt and it works good. As long as the generator and regulator are functioning to specs it does a good job. There are videos on RUclips that deal with the 6 volt systems and how to maintain them.
@@lawsonlawnandfarm8073 oh okay I gotcha. Last year was my first year doing hay. I only got a tedder towards the end of the season and I have no idea how I did it before. Such a huge help
@@lawsonlawnandfarm8073 sometime last year I cut a small field in the morning and immediately tedded it and it sounds crazy but it’s the truth... I baled it later the next day
Good to see the B in use. They maintain better when actually used and worked.
When i started farming my first tractor was a 1949 JD B
Love the Model B
Awesome video 👍
My first tractor was a 1948 JD B single front wheel. I miss the " Popping Johnny " sound. It was music to my ears. Thanks.
I feel the same way every time I run it.. there’s no better sound. Thanks for watching

Yea that’s something I discovered later on. I don’t think it’s a 48 but that’s what I was told when I bought it
New Yankee subscriber here! Very good videos, and like the way you explain reasons for how and why things are done.
Thanks. Unfortunately I haven’t made a video in a while. Life has gotten in the way but hopefully I can get back at it soon
