I would have never made it In Hollywood! No amount of money and/or fame would I put up with ANY DISRESPECT! When people say “everyone wants to be famous!” I have always laughed and said not me. I’ve never wanted a picture with one never wanted an autograph. Half the time I don’t even know who is who. I’m a southern CA native and would be with friends saying “oh look that’s so and so” and I’m like “who?” Not sure where I got my self-esteem but I love who I am not an ounce of greed in me.
You and me BOTH! When I graduated high school way back in 1984, I wanted to be an actor, that was all I wanted to do! I enrolled in my local university, taking one drama/acting/speech, etc., course after another....I did every local theatrical production that my school schedule would allow. When the bottom fell out from under me due to several major family traumas, I left the midwest and headed to California....and I was immediately horrified by the things I saw, horrified by the....things....that people were willing to do to make it in Hollywood; pornography, hooking....it blew me away, just HOW MANY young guys my age were selling their asses on "The Strip," and after two years, I said, "ENOUGH!" I never looked back, and I am so glad that I refused to sell myself and my very soul....just to make it. I've rarely ever gotten what I WANTED in this life, but I ALWAYS got exactly what I NEEDED. I know that I was somehow protected from all of this misery, and I am eternally grateful for that.
Omg! I've always wanted to sing & dance professionally all my life; but was so afraid of getting caught up in that kind of nonsense. And as a young woman, experiencing physical/ sexual abuse; that was the last thing I wanted to be involved in. I vowed I would not go through that again. I was very talented; but it wasn't worth enduring more abuse (especially on that level) for fame & fortune. I'd still love to perform; now that alot has changed. Perhaps l will. God bless the survivors! And remember; What's done in darkness, always comes to light - eventually! Bless you all!
