Yeah infantry spends the most time training. But if you asking how I have time to play COD and post RUclips videos its because I'm a former Marine I got out of the Marines a few years ago and I use youtube to tell my stories. But I am the ONLY combat veteran gaming commentator on youtube :)
Hey DDG, love marine core Mondays. I've been thinking about joining the Canadian army, I want to do the education plan where they pay for my university, and I go to officer training (you need a university degree for that). Just like to say that these vids are really helpful, I know it's different in the States but still, every one of these makes me want to do it more and more! Thanks a bunch!
Taylor Flaxson you must be a fuckin POG. At delta SOIW they treated us like absolute shit, I had an easier time in boot camp, not physically, but by the sheer amount of stupid bullshit and blasting the CI's did. it was beyond retarded. Granted it was better at bravo but still.
chewing tobacco is tobacco you chew and get the extract...which then you spit it out. While dip is what you put in your lip at the bottom gum and let it sit. Then you spit out the extract so you don't get sick.
I went about two years ago, and it was basically boot camp with some phones and more guns. It was not chill or fun... but granted, we literally got rained on every single day we were in the field
When I was a conscript and we were on hikes we weren't allowed to bring snuff or ciggarettes either and some people got real sneaky. One guy in my pluton who smoked would always wrap some ciggarettes in a plastic bag and then hide them under the handguards or tape a few inside the pistolgrip. It was really fun to see if they caught us but when they did we had to take some extra tankmines or rocks in our bags and we would walk some more =) Still good times.
If you fell out of humps they'd take your weekend liberty away from you?? That sucks. Humps are no joke and tear your body up. Do they get easier or harder once you hit the fleet??
***** ????? They get HARDER?!!? No kidding, huh?? Ruck-marches are never a cake walk on any level... even (or especially) in Boot camp... so the fact they only get worse once you get to SOI or in Infantry Units makes it clear that going Infantry is no joke and never to be taken lightly. But, now that you mention it... the fact that they only get harder after boot camp makes sense considering that Boot camp is only an introduction to or a taste of Infantry life and only gets more concentrated or serious once you get to these Infantry units where that's all you do. How anybody can do that is beyond me... and spending a 20+ year career doing that is a feat to say the least.
Yeah, my dad was a grunt for 20 years; he has basically no cartilage in his knee joints anymore, he's had his shoulder re-built twice. It's not an easy life, that's for sure
I'm working with a recruiter to get enlisted in the Corps. I really want to work with the M1A1 Abrams, but I really don't want to be a POG. I always am told about POG's and they're like looked down upon. Are all POG's not real Marines through 0311 eyes?
You can choose your MOS, but ultimately the Marines choose where you go. You're likely to get the MOS you signed up for, but they can change that at any time
Dude, 7D's suck. but the 14's are money. Did you get issued those once you got to your unit? I was in an Airborne unit so we got issued 14's and they're the fucking shit.
Yeah, i'm in DEP right now, and I've never smoked a day in my life. And i'm with you, I wanna stay clean. I don't care how much i'm pressured, I won't budge.
I realize now, thank you for making me a fucktard. But you shouldn't yell "damn POGs" because the POGs save the Grunts asses half the time when they're REALLY fucked.
Alright so I'm a HS sinior and I want to joins the Marines. I want to do Infantry, Artillery, and MP. I prefer Infantry but those to are other options. Witch MOS will be more likely to take me?
also who makes the call to your specific mos? (rifleman, motorman etc?) i signed an infantry contract 03XX so will i just be assigned to be whatever i excel at during training?
Also, a quick question, in the Marines, is "Semper Fi" used? I mean Semper Fidelis means basically no man left behind, so if it were to risk your whole squad's lives, you would still go back to get that one guy? I'd rather see this in a Q&A episode so you can go more in depth with this than just a RUclips comment. Also, have you ever had to go save one of your squadmates?
I got a question. D-dog, if you were a crack shot in your battalion, & you were assigned to be your unit's designated marksman, why didn't you apply to be an 0317 rather than remain as an 0311?
im 15 years old and am going to join the military after I graduate, probably the marine corps. i have a few questions. where do you go after SOI, and does the marines assign you an mos or can you choose whatever? thanks, liked the vid
I want to do ground combat. Is the training for the rifleman harder than others? Like do the mostly jog 5 miles and that's there pt for the day or what? Also I'm a smaller guy but more stocky 5"6 160. Is there any guys that are like that there? Do you have to be a certain height to actually do ground combat? Everytime I see a vid it's of people that are like 6'0-6'3 190-200lbs.
i have a real question i have a rare syndrom called mfs and i developed 37 numothoraxes got them removed from surgreys got my appendix removed , i dont have bad vision but not the best , and an inlarged aorta ( heart condition) is there health restrictions from joining? im in canada if that helps thumbs up to help me question pls?
It’s for this reason I’d say 11B training is harder then 0311 training. As an 11B basic and infantry training are one event and there is no chill. I mean now a days they get their phones and shit but they also have 22 weeks of boot camp. I only had 16 weeks but even during the AIT part my DSs didn’t give a fuck we were still getting hazed for the smallest dumbest shit in gold phase with a week left before graduation after 2 weeks in the field and a 16 mile ruck march which included a 12 foot section of a telephone pole. And the entire time the closest thing to a weekend break we got is if you went to church. Also fun fact the Jewish service at Fort Benning serves bagels.
i was just talkin to a marine who just came back from SOI he said the hikes and humps just fuckin kill everyone. he said by the end of the cycle more than half of the company had been dropped. Is SOI really that hard, not even that..is it really that easy to be dropped from SOI, cuz im somewhat colorblind and Infantry is what i want, but if i cant make it my other options are REAL shitty.
i gots a question im want ing to be a marine sniper with the light fiftyor more famously known as the barret 50 callibeer sniper rifle i would like to be a marine sniper with a spotter i know that the us doesnt send lone snipers they send spotters with them any thing that u know about it type back
Well.. MCT is part of SOI. (yes i am a POG). Infantry attend Infantry Training Battalion (ITB) which is part of SOI as well. But you know that of course obviously because you attended that.
You forgot one thing! "Hurry up and wait". The amount of time you spend sitting on your pack is horrific.
USMCsharpshooter0317 or standing in formation counting rain drops
Yeah infantry spends the most time training. But if you asking how I have time to play COD and post RUclips videos its because I'm a former Marine I got out of the Marines a few years ago and I use youtube to tell my stories. But I am the ONLY combat veteran gaming commentator on youtube :)
soi has changed!! im fresh out .. and there still is hazing! and getting yelled at.
"Them paintball bullets, they hurt...aaaaaaggghhh"
Nice Jarhead reference :)
Back to the grunts dick face
Man these marine corps Mondays were the freakin best !
"Everyone smokes, everybody dips" oorah yut
Did anyone else realize the work he just put in thats round? Semper fi
@shadowgun22 Combat support does go to MCT since they are not infantry and yes they get attached to Infantry units
You take a bus to the area that has the ranges but they drop you at the front and you hike everywhere we were never driven to any range
fk I got SOI ITB at Geigar in like 12 hrs......
Just out of boot camp! Now I'm fucking freaking out for the ITB 15k hump!!!!
how did it go 😂
I'm in DEP now. Might go in soon, picked infantry as one of my top 3. I knew I'd enjoy it.
I hid my dip in my flak behind my plates hahaha
someone in my sisters platoon was caught because he forgot he had it in lmao. i got a good few months before i go to bootcamp
What mos you gonna go with ?
Hey DDG, love marine core Mondays. I've been thinking about joining the Canadian army, I want to do the education plan where they pay for my university, and I go to officer training (you need a university degree for that). Just like to say that these vids are really helpful, I know it's different in the States but still, every one of these makes me want to do it more and more! Thanks a bunch!
"they dont really yell at you or treat you like shit"
yeah fuckin right hahahaha
they don't.
+Lunch Boxer Well, it's the Marine Corps. My experience was different. I was a motherfucking 0311, Sir.
Thanks for all the MCM bro, helped me with the nerves when I went to boot camp!
I started watching your videos today and i really like them i hope you make it big.
No you will never fire the M40 unless your a Scout Sniper
hey when they take your cell phone what do they do with it, do you get it back? Also what's your favorite kind of dip?
EricJrSEC 83788 lol
EricJrSEC 83788 you get it on the weekends during liberty
EricJrSEC 83788 yes
you probly went to soi during the right time of the year. soi in the winter just plan sucks in camp gieger thats when i went.
chewing tobacco is tobacco you chew and get the extract...which then you spit it out. While dip is what you put in your lip at the bottom gum and let it sit. Then you spit out the extract so you don't get sick.

@CreatedCreator21 I agree.. Work then Marine Corps Mondays. Keep uploading!
SOI some of the "happier" times. MCT is just the first month of your general rifleman course
If you fell out of humps they'd take your weekend liberty away from you?? That sucks. Humps are no joke and tear your body up. Do they get easier or harder once you hit the fleet??
***** ?????
They get HARDER?!!?
No kidding, huh??

yesh 120 lbs thank god im a roofer im use to 90lbs on me walking around
Yeah, my dad was a grunt for 20 years; he has basically no cartilage in his knee joints anymore, he's had his shoulder re-built twice. It's not an easy life, that's for sure
These were amazin. Should get back to doin Marine corp mondays
Watching this 9 years later in soi
Just graduated SOI West last Friday, and the information in this video is fun to listen to but extremely outdated; so don't take it too seriously.
I'm working with a recruiter to get enlisted in the Corps. I really want to work with the M1A1 Abrams, but I really don't want to be a POG. I always am told about POG's and they're like looked down upon. Are all POG's not real Marines through 0311 eyes?
When caught with a cell phone do you get it back afterwards??
You can choose your MOS, but ultimately the Marines choose where you go. You're likely to get the MOS you signed up for, but they can change that at any time
Dude, 7D's suck. but the 14's are money. Did you get issued those once you got to your unit? I was in an Airborne unit so we got issued 14's and they're the fucking shit.
Where do the USMC EOD go?
Please upload more MOS videos. I'm enlisting in August. Grandfather is a marine, was in Vietnam. Ohh-Rah!
@HellFireMissle1 It is really easy i mean i suck at math and i almost got a perfect score lol
Does combat support have to go to SOI or MCT, because support is with infantry almost all the time.
I always wondered what the term meant. Figured that was it.
I didn't start smoking in the Corps till my 1st deployment, that was my breaking point. Former Marine Infantry Rifleman.
mondays suck for the most part, but i highly enjoy this series. keep up the good work man
were you 0351 ? I noticed you mentioned the launchers and I thought that was only 0351 assaultman. I just received that m.o.s. and signed it
I wouldn't think that a person heavily in the field would have enough time to play. I found out later that the uploader is retired.
AT4 is an Anti-Tank rocket launcher. It shoots an 84mm rocket, and the name is a rip from the round it shoots.
when they took the cell phones and laptops, and stuff like that do they give it back after your done?
Yeah, i'm in DEP right now, and I've never smoked a day in my life. And i'm with you, I wanna stay clean. I don't care how much i'm pressured, I won't budge.
but I like people babysitting me, Basic Training Forever, hoohah!!!!
Dang what ITB did you go to lol? My time sucked ass. We didn't do like half that shit lmao
@TheDevildogGamer cool, so whats your MOS
what is your favorite weapon. It doesn't have to be one you own, or one you have owned, or even a gun, just your all time favorite weapon?
damn pogs!!!! 0311 lead the way
I want to do my part as a Marine, that's why I am working in Aviation. I want a career afterwords.
It was not ment to be taken to litteraly i understand the work that every marine puts into his job.
Tom Druz He didn't say he was a POG at all...
Never said i though he was i was making a general comment.
I realize now, thank you for making me a fucktard. But you shouldn't yell "damn POGs" because the POGs save the Grunts asses half the time when they're REALLY fucked.
how did you hike to every range when there arent any ranges within hiking range of geiger? you only hike to ranges if you went to itb west
Because its fun?!?!
I laughed when you said they caught people using cell phones by using night vision goggles lol.
you would need to get a waver i would think
Also, a quick question, in the Marines, is "Semper Fi" used? I mean Semper Fidelis means basically no man left behind, so if it were to risk your whole squad's lives, you would still go back to get that one guy? I'd rather see this in a Q&A episode so you can go more in depth with this than just a RUclips comment. Also, have you ever had to go save one of your squadmates?
Great story mate
I just joined as an 0351. Were you an 0311?
SOI sounds sick, but I'm scared of boot camp. I really do wanna be a marine tho.
In ITB right now
Did you end up crossfiring 6850's? I already have once and i'm thinking about getting another
I got a question. D-dog, if you were a crack shot in your battalion, & you were assigned to be your unit's designated marksman, why didn't you apply to be an 0317 rather than remain as an 0311?
***** He was 3rd LAR, they don't have a STA platoon.
So i want to be a Support Gunner in the USMC but how do I get selected for that?
im 15 years old and am going to join the military after I graduate, probably the marine corps. i have a few questions. where do you go after SOI, and does the marines assign you an mos or can you choose whatever? thanks, liked the vid
Do they allow you to smoke in SOI I didnt understand that very well.
DayZ Chronicles depends on the instructor but generally not in the field
I want to do ground combat. Is the training for the rifleman harder than others? Like do the mostly jog 5 miles and that's there pt for the day or what? Also I'm a smaller guy but more stocky 5"6 160. Is there any guys that are like that there? Do you have to be a certain height to actually do ground combat? Why is the Marine Corps logo blurred?
Does dip mean to chew?
i have a real question i have a rare syndrom called mfs and i developed 37 numothoraxes got them removed from surgreys got my appendix removed , i dont have bad vision but not the best , and an inlarged aorta ( heart condition) is there health restrictions from joining? im in canada if that helps thumbs up to help me question pls?
when he talked about the graficis card i thought "nerd". but he's still cool
You tell your recruiter you want to be a Support Gunner. and they will get you that job.

whats the difference between an AT-4 and a SMAW?
Also how long is the SOI course ?
are sf and recon considered poges in your eyes devil?
i was just talkin to a marine who just came back from SOI he said the hikes and humps just fuckin kill everyone. he said by the end of the cycle more than half of the company had been dropped.

what the hell is dipp??? sounds fun!
I literly j looked up this vid to find out how to sneak shit up to the field lmfao
it's chewing tobacco you put in between your lip and gums and it gives you a nice buzz
Lol, My cousin got to fire 2 Javelins. He got lucky
Great stories, but did anyone else notice how much work he was doing in this video?
i gots a question im want ing to be a marine sniper with the light fiftyor more famously known as the barret 50 callibeer sniper rifle i would like to be a marine sniper with a spotter i know that the us doesnt send lone snipers they send spotters with them any thing that u know about it type back
Where do you go after you graduate from SOI ?
damn you say you dont do it often but you do it well
What year were you in Lejeune?
Are the soi hikes worse than the ones at bootcamp ?
Yes sir !
+Ivan Young well fuck lol
riseagainst816 yes and no. At boot camp they make you scream which is gay but at ITB the hikes are longer and heavier
Around what time of the year do they usually open up waviers boxes for juvenile records and does scoring high on asvab help wavier process ?
Well.. MCT is part of SOI. (yes i am a POG). Infantry attend Infantry Training Battalion (ITB) which is part of SOI as well. But you know that of course obviously because you attended that.
I'm not a marine (yet hopefully) so correct me if I'm wrong but I could have changed remember he was in around 2005
I know that. He just was doing work whenever he filmed that
I just ask you, what's this name of game?
how do u become a saw gunber
When you become a lancecorp. you can apply
do you get to talk to family like wives alot?
What is boot camp like? I'm about to leave for MCRD San Diego.
+Kevin Frazier You'll find out
Hell
I get a pack of newports for 5 bucks here on the central coast, california
I just enlisted last month, but my MOS is "infantry security forces" do I still go to SOI after Bootcamp?
SAVAGEGRUNT21 yes
hit his c/o in the nuts😂
How did you get selected to be a 0313?
that just means every Marine is a qualified marksman
