I'm loving the relaxed, mature guys hiking vibe whilst looking out for the ladies. The age of chivalry is not dead. Making great miles, but you are seasoned hikers, so well done irregardless.
🎉 you guys are AMAZING!! I’m addicted after discovering your vids- they could never be tooooo long! What an increase journey so far - and I’m watching this from Israel in a severe heatwave. Thank you for taking the time to share and to give such wonderful insights . This will be my daily viewing time for however long you traversed for !!
Im pretty sure the Professor maintains that water cache, along with the one at scissors crossing. I could be wrong but this is what the trail grapevine told me LOL... Good luck guys!
Hello editor. Our son hiked the PCT -- beginning to end -- in 2018. I did a few tiny, tiny sections with him. My husband and I have a cabin in Big Bear and like to pay it forward as a thank you to all the trail angels that helped our son. If you and/or your hikers (or any trail family they pick up along the way) want a respite in Big Bear let me know and I can email with you privately.
Is your son "Irish Exit"? jus curious as I followed Elina "Tip Tap" on her journey as she did an award winning Vlog in my opinion. Richy "Wood-Mon" PCT88
@@pismorichy He was Houdini and he hiked with Turtle. He didn't vlog while on the PCT, but was a journalist both before and after his hike. He went to work for Outside Magazine when he was done and was their resident PCT/hiking expert for a turn. He's abandoned journalism though and is now a law student. He claims that hiking is overrated, but as we speak he is headed for a long week hike in the Grand Canyon over spring break. He may protest -- but he's still a hiker. He took me on a 50+ mile backpack trek from Mammoth to Yosemite in summer 2021. I think a 6-day 5-night hike is this 60+ year old's limit.
Go Codgers! Here's hoping the San Bernardino NF re-opens from tomorrow. As we say here in Japan: 安全第一で頑張って下さい! Stay safe and keep at it! Thank you for the wonderful videos.
I’ve been dreaming of doing the pct for years but life (aka one baby and one more on the way) seems to get in the way! Love to see that I have many more years to live my dream!
That water stash is amazing. Some good people looking out for hikers. In a world gone crazy, it is very nice to see the good side of folks. Any snakes yet? Love these desert views.
I've had my drinking legs for quite some time, even when I'm just getting on trail, though I find that I enjoy a flavorful rye whiskey. My taste buds seem to get kind of deadened at elevation.
Gate 3 is where I hooked up with my Tramily....what a great group of people I was able to spend around 700 miles with them.....everyone of them except the married couple (Gretel broke her foot) made it all the way to the end Alex, LostNFound, Lil Stone, Reds, Patrick, Zeb ...they made it
You guys are doing great keep it up. If all goes well I well be finishing up my Appalachian section hike. This will be my 14 year. I am hoping to retire in 2026 and hike the PCT in 2027. I’ll be an old fart out there on the trail Also take care guys. Praying for your safety. Your friend that got of the trail what part of Ohio is he from?
I’m guessing there are coyotes, bobcats and maybe mountain lions passing by in the night. You would be lucky to see them but it isn’t likely. You don’t have to concern yourself about cooking in your tents for quite a long time.
Their Columbia sun hats but I’m not crazy about the brim of the hat. It’s not too stiff such that wind will blow it up or into your eyes. Might be looking for a different one soon
Hey. It is a Versalite. I do like it. It packs down real well. I have the large. Jus a tiny bit more snug but in a week or so that won’t be a problem. I’m 5’10 and 185 right now. I do recommend it.

Thank you for these videos! I'm about a month behind you (April 8 start) and they're very helpful. Happy hiking!
That's quite the water cache! The trail angels who maintain that are amazing!

14 miles, very good! I liked the codger quips at Julian. So funny. Carry on!
You codgers are doing an awesome adventure!!! “Codger patrol “! Hee Hee!
Awesome water cache, Thanks trail angels.
Nice job. I’m pretty far behind. Thanks for sharing.
looks like the desert is nice and cool and with a lot of water too! Hopefully it's still there mid April! have fun guys!
Making good time. Keep trekking. 😀

@@pismorichy I just finished watching Tip Tap's vlogs. I agree. Her vlogs are amazing. It was a privilege to watch them.

Great video, I did the first 500 in 2022. Love reliving it with you guys. It is an amazing experience.

No snakes yet. In fact not much wildlife yet.
No snakes yet. A couple bunnies, a deer, birds, a lizard and some bugs. That will all change soon.

Way to go guys! 🌻💛

wondering where you guys are now? Big Bear?
Which sun hats are you both wearing in this video? I'm getting ready to ditch my sun umbrella for a better sun hat. Thank you.

@@hikingwiththecodgers4086 Thank you for the reply…I’ll skip the Columbia then. You guys are doing great…love your videos.
Hey Codger Joe, how do you like you Mont-bell? Which jacket is it? Looking to get a rain jacket for when I jump on the PCT in about three weeks.
Looks like a versalite

Is Mr Freeze back on trail yet?
No. Not sure he’ll be able to rejoin us :(
The wind really kills videos should try and plug some music in there.
