Thanks for posting this. Can actually recognise more players from the French side than the Irish. Recognise Rocheteau and Bathenay, Both beautiful players and the latter certainly did not deserve to be on the losing side in the legendary Liverpool V St Etienne tie which concluded 2 weeks earlier. Steve Heighway a beautiful player too as he proved in that year’s European cup final
I was in the crowd that day - never will forget it. No doubt a brilliant French team who went on to Argentina 78 and surprised the world. But a wonderful Irish victory nonetheless. Brady was far and away our most skilful midfielder of all time.
The Brady goal is one of my favourite goals of all time. Sheer class. Like all things class, it was so good that most people didn't notice.
The original Lansdowne Rd stadium was the best.
Good night. Thank you so much for the superb video. Of course like from me. Country Azerbaijan
i really love what you upload. thank you very much! a football-romantic who's against modern football!
My 2nd Ireland game to attend probably still my favourite

Mick Kearns the 'keeper?
John Giles is the only player-manager ever existed in international football.
Beautiful👍👍
And to think Brady was expelled from school for playing for Ireland schools team instead of the school GAA team☹️⚽️☘️
Was gerry daly playing in this
Yes he was 😁.
Ireland could have won that World Cup with a little luck and more aggression!Well done for beating France.
Won it - you've been on the Guinness.
