I really appreciate you explaining the time it took for the plant to Adjust and setting in, and even how it didn’t pitcher... it feels like all people see are greenhouses with immaculate pitchers and thriving collections.. but there isn’t enough people showing how these plants aren’t in their prime 24/7 365 days.. so I really appreciate you going into that side of it.
You’re welcome! Omg, Nepenthes definitely go through the motions like people lol. They don’t always look this great. Some plants are better at looking good all the time, but most species seem to go through the changes. I’m glad this brought you comfort and insight:) Thanks, Dom
@@redleafexotics4722 same here! I’ve observed after one year cultivating nepenthes that my highlands look great in a cold basement until last august, when two or three don’t pitchered. Anyways one month is not so terrible. Any recommendations for descending temperature of a big big terrarium?
OK Now I need a Lingulata!!!!.... Your Knowledge base is HUGE!! and your delivery is positively infectious!! I am ALWAYS hungry for more From RedLeaf Exotics!!!!
I’ve got the lingulata x truncate EP and it’s a beautiful specimen plant. The colour and body traits from the lingulata are awesome. Nice to see more about this species and it’s hybrids 👍
Hahah, it’s very possible to have the appearance of fangs with the addition of a lid appendage from ling. 3 full fangs but be over reaching haha but time will tell!
As the titles suggest, highland plants require cool days 70-83F with a 15-20f temp drop at night. They will not flourish in hot temps with no night time drops. Lowland like it warm all The time with no temp drops. Hybrids are easy and fall Right in between depending on the parents:) all Nepenthes from seed, prefer warmer temps like most plants. Hope that helps! Dom
This pitcher was the first in my care, so it was a little deformed. The next one is normal. Fluctuations in temp and humidity can also cause this. Thanks!
@@redleafexotics4722 thanks! I had this happen on a maxima and most recently, a spathulata x hamata, but the other pitchers on those plants were normal. I just think it looks funny. Looked kinda AWESOME on a a juvie maxima, tho!
The fact that you can make hybrids and the hybrids look like their parents and it's actually a practice does something for nepenthes that philodendron alocasia and anthurium can't fill. You can cross and divide these plants like no other, ya know
Oh, I know! And Nepenthes haven’t even skimmed the service of breeding potential! Always something to look forward too and so many traits to be worked on!😎 Thanks Brandon!

It’s now a must-have! Enjoy it:) Thanks Chris!
If you crossed lingulata with bical and then crossed the offspring back and forth with more bical/lingulata, could you end up with a nep with 3 fangs?

Thank you Dominique for making such nice Nepenthes SPECIES video among the hybrid hype... Will enjoy seeing more species videos 😁
More coming:)
Love it, so dark, thanks Dom can understand why it's one of your faves ❤
And I thought ‘Candy Dreams’ was my favorite...!!😍
It is definitely a cool species. What is the plant hanging on the upper right at six minutes 40 seconds in?
Amazing species!!
Love my lings bro especially my ling x trunk (hmmm wear did i get that one oh yaa you)great vid as always
Does Highland or Lowland pitchers requires specific temperature? Because I wanna try Highland pitcher plants from seeds

@@redleafexotics4722 ooh... I see, glad I didn't bought the seeds else it will suffer... Thank you
Beautiful Nepenthes 👍
Man, any ideas what causes some pitchers to curve like that on the lingulata x truncata? I see it sometimes on mine.

Thanks!..... Now theres another nep i need
You’re welcome! Sorry not sorry! Have to collect them all😆
The lid appendage gang is lingulata and bicalcurata
very similar! Bicals fangs are actually a part of the peristome and very sharp, ling is a part of the lid and very soft!
@@redleafexotics4722 Thanks for the reply :)
Do you have a hybrid between lingulata and bicalcarata 😅
Can you do a mars hydro grow tent update video
Yes! :)
Thank you

Is this retail
next do Nepenthes Raflesiana or Nepenthes Andrianii
Raff should be ready to go:) thanks!
I'm so jealous, I live in New Zealand and we don't have nearly as many cool Nepenthes like you
Aw I’m sure they will make their way there eventually:) wish we could help!
@@redleafexotics4722 is there a way I could contact you? I'd be interested in importing some seeds of the ones that are allowed in if possible?

We have some pretty good sellers over here now man. Lots of hybrids on the market 😎
Nepenthes lingulata is my Favorite hybrid but I have a nepenthes vetricosa
Cross it with bicalc and you got a snake.
