Ectrodinary beautiful thought provoking music, l enter into a different place a good place within my mind every time I listen to The Blue Nile. Thank you.
There is only one Blue Nile no other band comes close to for uplifting heartbreaking music that brings joy and sadness at the same time, thank God they never sold out and stuck to recording and playing their own style of Music
Thanks for taking the time to comment. At a little over 10 minutes, I originally thought that people would shy away from investing such a long time in one song, But I am delighted to see from peoples responses that the mix of images along with my edit, has resonated so deeply.
Thanks Chris, perhaps for some, it's too long.. Also, some things are best left untouched, however I am pleased with how many people have enjoyed this as I did vit mostly for my own pleasure and the challenge. I also did a remix of Heatwave
It's moments like this you just love You tube. An underrated group that would have vanished without a trace other than for a few of us with worn out cassettes that we drag out every so often. It's new it's fresh and it's great, better than ever.
Love this piece of music........when the world turned a whole lot slower and people really embraced love more than ever......with nothing but pure heart.
stunning .. . heart-breaking . . . wonderful . . . what more can I say? I'm almost 58, and this extended version - coupled with these images - moved me to tears. And it takes a lot to do that to me these days . . . Thank you for a GREAT posting !!
Many thanks, I adore the Blue Nile - i have thought about mixing other pieces of their music, buut in many ways what they have created seems to be perfect
This is beautiful. You made a wonderful song more lush and emotional. Love what you have done. I would love to have this version for myself somehow. Beautifully done.
Hi, Glad you liked my mix - found the instrumental of the bands website - then merged it with the album version - a friend sent me the pics of the American depression and I thought they went pretty well together.
Paul Strachan they do mix brilliant images and this stunning song one of my favourite songs off the album always reminds me of my mum as I held her as she passed away in my arms from cancer it hurts every time I hear it
Wonderful combination. I just received the remastered cd of High. An additional cd contans some remixes and additional unreleased tracks. I saw them in the early 90s in NYC - still have my ticket stub and got them to autograph my Walk Across CD.
SCTM - one of my fav TBN tracks - has absolutely everything you need to get taken to wherever TBN should be - I privately / family gatherings sing a few of their songs but would love to do this one at my daughters wedding as its so evocative of that moment - I've always felt anyway - Patrick McGleenan Co Westmeath
Six hundred and one seconds of heaven. Absolutely sublime. Paradise and perfection paired. The acoustic guitar on this mix sings almost as serenely as Paul Buchanan himself. Well done tatuke on posting this.
Superlative stuff Paul - I can tell you as a lifetime fan of the band (saw them twice) - I nearly crapped my Dubliner's Shamrock-shaped Y-fronts when I found something new by them. Does the band known of your version - they should - it's utterly wonderful. Well done and all the best from sunny Awesomestow. PS: I've reviewed the Deluxe Editions of "A Walk Across The Rooftops", "Hats" and "Peace At Last" on Amazon and my Blog 'Sounds Good Looks Good'... Regards. Mark
Thanks Mark, yeah they hold a very special place for me. I too have seen them live a few times. Last time was in Glasgow ( i now live in Thailand) when they sang Family Man...well...it was simply amazing, the space of the music, those lyrics, Pauls voice...I was in tears and I was not alone.
Thanks for the remix. It's one of their truly great songs and sharing an extended mix with us fans is inspired. We get another version of it. Brilliant!
Hey Paul! Thank you for the toe stretching moment. I do love this arrangement. The guitar almost moans a beautiful sadness. Thanks! It's been almost a year since I came across this.
I do not know if this is available on CD, or download, but this is a song that is so beautiful, and it was made even better, via extended remix. It's One of Those moments you do not want to end. Paul's voice, and the guitar really make this work. Thanks for sharing this!
+Jim E - thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed my remix. this is not on a cd - I remixed it for my personal use as I too adore the song and when i found the instrumental version on the Blue Nile Website - i decided to remix it. you can easily download it by opening Videograbby - www.videograbby.com/ and then paste in the link.

@iainpd1963 . As you say just 4 albums in 30 years but with the blue nile it is definitely a case of quality rather than quantity. 4 albums of astonishing music, i was lucky enough to see them all of 20 years ago in manchester, still have visions of the audiences ecstatic reaction with the band looking utterly bemused by the level of appreciation shown by the audience, a superb track, even by the nile standards, backed up with some powerful images. all 4 albums are essential listening
@gothamguys Thanks so much, I have been fortunate to have seen them live a few times, just an incredible band with degrees of emotion that many cant begin to emulate. If you cannot download from the vid and rip the music, send me your email and I will compress the file and send it to you - very happy that you liked it - it is a belter of a track. I would love to remix more of their material however in a way i dont like touching that that is perfect.
Thanks very much, I really appreciate your comment, its a great track no doubt, I just finished reading 'Nileism' The Strange Course of the Blue Nile by Allan Brown, a great book that really helps you understand a little of what the band were striving for and what they went through to get it, it also cements their connection to Glasgow.
Hi I meant to reply to you long ago. sorry, thanks for your comment, yeah moves me to tears as well, although Family Life especially when you hear it live, would soften the heart of anybody.
I shouldn’t have listened to this today. We may be homeless by Christmas which would mean splitting our family up, not by natural choice but by bureaucracy. 11am tomorrow morning we’ll know. We’ve been here for 20 years. It’s where the kids grew up, where we brought our second son home to. I’m so scared. I’ve failed as a mother. We have two wonderful sons but we can’t guarantee a roof over our heads.
RICKIE WHEN YOU WILL RELEASE THEM IN YELLOW KRYPTONIYTE!!!??????VYNIL FORMAT FOR THAT MASTERPIECE?NOT FOR SURE!!!!!!?IT WOULD BE THE SAME THING IF THIS BEATIFUL SONG WANT BE RELEASE IN PAPERBACK FORMAT.THANK YOU FOR SHARE.MARCELLO CASU"/VETTTORAZZZI...;;;;::ALESSANDRO E SAMANDA CASU/VETTORAZZI AND OBVIOUSLY FUCK OFFFFF!!!!

@@tatuke классное видео! отменная работа! :))
Probably the best concert I have ever attended was The Blue Nile. The sound of this band was incredible.
There is only one Blue Nile no other band comes close to for uplifting heartbreaking music that brings joy and sadness at the same time, thank God they never sold out and stuck to recording and playing their own style of Music
Indeed Graham, some of their songs seem to resonate so deeply. I am still quite moved by what they created.
Pictures of people who have nothing. But probably have a heart full of lovee. The most touching song I have heard kn years 😢😢
Thanks for taking the time to comment. At a little over 10 minutes, I originally thought that people would shy away from investing such a long time in one song, But I am delighted to see from peoples responses that the mix of images along with my edit, has resonated so deeply.
Incredible combination of music and photography.
Thanks so much
Beautiful .....i cannot comprehend why anyone would do a thumbs down ..... ?

'It's moments like this you just love You tube' absolutely Ian.
I love this song and it is so apropos to what is happening now. Thank you for sharing this as I listen to it all of the time.
Hi Karen, thanks for your comment. Yes it's simply stunning and indeed it certainly makes you think about the current situation. Stay safe.

Such a gentle, poignant melody...reminding us of the power of staying connected.
Beautiful arrangement and images really make u think... Of a time long gone or still to come.
such an underrated band... every album's a winner.
Totally agree, but then the world knows the cost of everything, and the value of nothing!
The music and photos compliment each other magnificently. A time when both recorded images in depth.
Many thanks, I adore the Blue Nile - i have thought about mixing other pieces of their music, buut in many ways what they have created seems to be perfect
10 minutes flew like magic.
This track is a prayer, a hym, it’s both healing yet heartbreaking, for it asks ‘ what’s it mean to be human? ‘
This is beautiful. You made a wonderful song more lush and emotional. Love what you have done. I would love to have this version for myself somehow. Beautifully done.

let's hope with all these great musical artists passing away this year and all the old bands reforming the blue nile might be next for a final tour
