Watching this video is my reward for having taken care of some tasks screaming my name...fresh pot of coffee and a comfortable chair are ready. This bellyband is stunning! flower sparkle is definitely catching my appreciative eyes. There is so much to learn from this video! Thank you, Kathy, for all the details and tips contained in your narrative. Love hearing your satisfied utterance at having found the right placement for an element. I so enjoy creating my own flowers...love knowing that they will always match my project. Well done! I always make extra flowers, keeping them in color labeled storage boxes...makes last minute orders easy to create.
I love thinking of you in your comfy chair with your feet up, enjoying a coffee and this video. I'm honored that it felt like a reward to you! I love a card with a belly band, and I don't know why I haven't done more wide belly bands in the past. I have piles of poinsettias in little fruit baskets all around the studio, so it feels quite festive in here. Thanks for the sweet words, my friend! xo
Truly beautiful I love this weekly series so much and everytime I think I can't learn anything new you show me how to make mother of pearl paper with Novo Mousse, Thank you so much
Beautiful, beautiful Kathy ....I must go dig out my never used mousse and try this! As always your flowers are just gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial! Hugs, Suzy Q
Hi Kathy! Thank you for this beautiful flower tutorial. I have made those Spellbinder Poinsettias before. But you taught me something new to do to the Heartfelt Creations flower shaping paper with all the Tim Holtz inks. That is something I want to try in my flower making. I need to get some new sprays. I had made my own mica mists year before last. But the ones you have look so beautiful. This makes me want to go to my craft room and die cut out those Spellbinder Poinsettias. But I am not going to have much time this week. We leave again for Rochester, MN for Mayo Clinic Monday to get settled in at the Hyatt House Hotel which is a ten minute walk to Mayo Methodist Hospital. John has early appointments on Tuesday, October 29th for bloodwork and a Nurse Practitioner consultation and check over. He gets admitted to Mayo Methodist Hospital at 10:15 Tuesday morning for his last month of treatments with the high dose Cytarabine chemotherapy. He will be infused every twelve hours until 4 big bags are all used up. He will have his immunotherapy infused first before they start the chemo. He has done really well with all of his immunotherapy and high dose chemo all these last 5-1/2 months. He will get a Pegfilgrastrin shot early Friday morning at the Mayo Gonda building. Then we have an appointment with the stem cell transplant doctor to go over the protocol for stem cell transplantation should he need one. We will going back to Mayo again at the end of November or early December for John to have another PET scan, bone marrow biopsies and the MRD test to see if there are any hidden cancer cells left in his body. The MRD test can detect one cancer cell out of millions. We are praying that this turns out to be negative so that he won’t need the stem cell transplant. Have you ever known anyone who has had to have a stem cell transplant? Once again, I ask that you pray that the Lord will continue to protect John from all the harm this high dose chemo can do to his organs. The nurses are very attentive to John when he is in the hospital. So he does get excellent care. And we praise the Lord for how He has protected him thus far. The only side effects he has had are the low blood and platelet counts and feeling tired. He feels more tired when he gets the high dose chemo. Thank you so much Kathy for praying for John and for our family and I. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers and your wonderful tutorials that help take my mind off of all of this. Tell Dale I appreciate his musical and singing talents. I enjoy hearing him sing on your videos. Thank you for sharing your talents with us too dear Kathy. You are a blessing! Love and hugs, Marla
Thank you so much, Marla! I really like creating the inky papers for flower making. Somehow it makes them look more realistic, I think. Praying for you and John...may you be strengthened and encouraged every step of this journey! Blessings and hugs!
Hi Kathy! That was an excellent tutorial, my friend!! I usually make my poinsettias in pink and use white embossing powder to make it look like snow on the edges. I think that if I make red ones, I'm going to try your method. Hugs! 🤗🥰❤🎄
Hi, Doris! Thanks so much for the lovely comment. We live in an area with lots of pines, so it's fairly easy to find the little ones. But you can order mini pine cones on Amazon. I have not done bow tutorials as I don't think my camera set up would work well for that type of tutorial. If you look for Really Reasonable Ribbon on RUclips, you'll find a lot of bow tutorials there. That's how I learned to tie my bows. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much! I use Heartfelt Creations Specialty Paper for flower making. I have a nice supply from when I was on their design team. Sadly, they have gone out of business, so I will have to find a new source when I run out.

Beautiful and so helpful, where do you get the little pinecones? Could you show us how you tie your bows?
