Tragic she lost her daughter but she really needs therapy for her trauma much more than a world record 🙁 the nails are an unhealthy attachment/seems debilitating.. she acknowledged out loud "I didn't go get help"

I love her smile so much when the gentleman gave her her certificate. Her giant nails are there for a reason, and they help her to cope with the loss of her daughter, most probably more than anything else. I also love the support of her family, they understand the meaning of her nails and help her to further grow and keep them. Hope that many many more people are also supportive of her and her nailgrowth, she devserves it so much :) :)

Pfff to each their own way of dealing with losses, but this doesn't seem healthy at all. You shouldn't sacrifice your own life to remember someone, no person would want to pass that burden on their relatives. In the end a lost relative is as close to you as you keep him/her in your mind.
If you want to use a token of remembrance to keep your memory of your relatives close by all means go for it, but don't mistake the token for your actual memories. In the end nails are just nails.

How is this an accomplishment? She obviously has to have others do things for her, too numerous to detail, which is basically enabling her to continue to relive the grief of losing her daughter. I can’t imagine such a tragic loss, and I feel for the family. However, growing one’s nails, hair, etc., is passive. Anyone can do it, perhaps not to that extreme length. The award should go to the people who went above and beyond to assist her daily with life and continue to do so. I do hope she can learn to deal with her grief in healthier ways.

Is a very sad story and very unfortunate for the loss of her daughter. However didn't she have other children as well? So her grieving process has taking such control that the other children don't exist and her physical and mental health declined for the sake of grieving? I don't think that I would want my mother to grieve in a way that was so detrimental to the family and to herself. Even though there is no right or wrong way to grieve nor a length of time necessary to do so one must question priorities. One may be gone but what happens to the ones that are living

I’m sorry but nails that have been artificially built up and repaired should not be the winner? Longest nails used to be awards to naturally grown nails, not nails that have been strengthened and repeatedly repaired with acrylic. That’s bogus. A straight nail the thickness of a pool cue isn’t a real nail.

@@slugintub634 you adapt ..the nails have grown same as she has.. they're something you get used to & if she has problems doing anything she uses an alternate method, just like you would ..
