How did you get your bell to work? Ijust got a td-11kv and I'm really frustrated that I can't get the bell to work after the extra cash I spent. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.

Press the link button and that will separate the zones then hit a zone and dial in your sound, continue with the other two zones without hitting the other zone !

Also make sure under System/Pad Settings that RD is set to CY-13R so it will utilize both jacks instead of just one input for the CY-8 that the kit comes with

the td-11module has a 'link' function in the instrument edit section - you should 'unlink' in order to get three not two trigger areas

Hi! can I use this cymbal with a TD-07 KVS kit?

  • @mainakdutta8588

I just got myself a TD17 KVX. When I plug in the ride cymbal connections in the correct order that is the RDB jack to the bell input and the RD jack to the edge input of the CY13R, the cymbal seems to get self chocked. The entire cymbal sounds chocked and like a piece of rubber with minimum cymbal like sound. But when I reverse the input jacks in the incorrect order, the cymbal sounds fine but the edge and bell zones are reversed. Almost the entire cymbal triggers the bell and only a tiny portion of it triggers the edge. Even in the assignment section when I hit the bell of the cymbal, the Cymbal assignment screen shows RDE making it even impossible to correct the assignment.
Has anyone faced this weird issue before? Can someone help to find a way out?

Hello Mainak, I just bought my TD17-KVX last month and I'm also facing the same issue you had with the CY-13R ride cymbal. Have you managed to resolve it?

@@damien9869 Hi... I did write about this issue in a few Roland forums but didn't receive much help there. But the issue miraculously disappeared. 😀😀😀 All I did was, I stopped using the sounds from TD17 as there were issues like the ride cymbal's bell & edge zones inversion plus I didn't like any of the snare or kick tones provided in the module. So I started using GGD tones using MIDI and there I could map and play the ride cymbals the proper way. This went for a few months, then one fine day I just thought of creating a tone in TD17 itself and while doing that I just tried to test my luck and re-plugged the ride cymbal jacks in their correct order and to my wonder I found that the issue has disappeared and I could correctly assign my ride bell and edge. Although it sounds way better using GGD while playing via MIDI.

@@mainakdutta8588 Thanks Mainak! In the end, it turned out to be a manufacturing defect & since it was still under warranty, i got my local Roland distributor to fix it. Fortunately it's been working well since.

Hi Richie. I have a question for you. I recently purchased a used TD11KV kit. It came with a CY13R ride. I do not like the sound of the crash/edge when struck, too harsh for me. Is it possible to program the crash sound of the ride? If so, how? I'd like it be like a 18" fast crash, or something along those lines? Thanks, Ron.

    Hello,
I'm from Brazil, and I have a td 11 k in my church, and I bought a cy 13 r but I can not configure the bell mode of it, I only get the edge and the blow. Would you be able to guide me on this? I was scared to have bought wrong, because in the specification does not say that it is for the td 11k. And now?
The cy 13 r has 3 zones but in the module I can not configure the 3 zones. I only get two zones, the bell I can not.

Yes it should work perfectly with your td-11 module. Make sure under System/Pad Settings that RD is set to CY-13R so it will utilize both jacks instead of just one input for the CY-8 that the kit comes with

Hey Richie. I just bought this cymbal and I’m using it with a TD6V module. However, when I have both cables plugged in and working, the bell seems to take over. It’s like there’s no separation from then triggers inside. Am I doing something wrong? Seems like this should work pretty well right outta the box. It seems like my cymbal is screwed up somehow. It was used when I bought it.
