Warren, I really enjoyed watching you replace that large chunk. Reminds me of my 78 Datsun that I removed and had the chunk bearings replaced and I put it back in with a floor jack and a piece of 3/4 in plywood for a platform on top of the jack of course my chunk was much small that that trucks. Fairly tough job for a 80 year old fellow. Don't think I will attempt another such job. (Ha)

Another Great Video, Warren. I don’t care what your doing, I hit the like button and sit back and watch what’s going on. I wonder where the GoPro Camera went, I normally find the item after I open the new one. Interesting that the glow plug light is not coming on when it’s being commanded. Thanks for going through the extra work to video your jobs, so we can try to learn something. I’m working on another 1500 Ton Trane Chiller Overhaul, had to setup a 3 Ton Steel Gantry to get ready to disassemble, I don’t like the steel as much as aluminum gantries. I should probably video some of this, but it seems like a bunch of extra work.

You can easily check to see if that ford has modified software by taking you autel and pulling up the vehicle information and what you need to look for is calid and cvn checksums. You can compare that to official ford calid checksum numbers and if they match it's unmodified software in the controller.
If the glow plug indicator is not coming on you may not be getting a signal from the pcm to the ipc. When you did the lamp test you were probably communicating directly to the ipc. On the 7.3 power stroke the indicator light was controlled by the glow plug controller and there was a fused link inline with the wire going to the cluster.

warren I was a crane operator all my adult life. I would go that extra mile to make sure that my machine was in good working order I would be right there with the mechanic to fix the machine helping him.
one day I check my crane out was good. went back to do a job with it , it would not start . started to look for the problem. I found the problem. someone had cut the the wire to the fuel injector solenoid shut off valve. have you found anything like that . seen the rear end in your truck and you said that the drain plugs were loose. not blaming anybody but there are people out there that do not want to work so they damage equipment so they do not have to work.
