I saw them in a small club in the '90's in Pasadena, Ca. Fantastic!

I saw them live November 22, 1993 in the theater of sittard. It felt like a steamroller ran over you! One of the most legendary concerts I've ever seen with the heaviest crowd ever. Never to be forgotten, what a band !

One of the best concerts I ever saw, I will never forget this one. Just a pity it's all close up, while I remeber it from in the crowd, and it felt like a train coming right at you, and there was no way to get away from it.

Lester was a good guy, and great musician. He asked me to rate his "Juke", real modest. Bruce Willis used to come to the King King and jam with them, and they played at his wedding. They did a blues album with Mick Jagger.

Unbelievable band. There is no denying greatness. The Red Devils with Lester Butler aced it.

Almost got to see them at Hootenany but they broke up just prior to the gig. Their live album King King is one of the best albums, live or not, I've ever heard. Legendary band, God-children of The Blasters, Lester Butler gone too soon.

Just spoke to Michael Katon. I uploaded his Leverkusen 2001 video onto you tube last week. I asked him if this was his first televised gig, and he said it would probably have been Moulin Blues 1993. He also said he went on straight after the Red Devils. So, I search You Tube, and I see it's only been up for 4 months, yet Katons 2008 performance has been up for 12 years. Please please upload Michael Katons 1993 gig, and other early gems. I have just subscribed, and wait impatiently :) I also saw Red Devils a couple of times in London in 93 once in a Tower Records showcase gig. Sorely missed

I think of this slammin’ band as the evolutionary step between The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Black Crowes.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way.

You miss the point , whatever happened or how he looked , and he doesn`t look bloated or drugged out , the music was up there with the best . RIP Lester a real talented musician. Now best you go off and listen to Harry Styles because he dresses and looks nice...

Totally agree. Always pitiful when one self-absorbed addict drags the whole show down. What a waste. Just sad, as it was really an incredible band.
