Lover’s Tale is very polarizing. The castoreum puts a lot of people off. On my skin, the peach and the rose blends so well with the leather to where the overly animalic notes are toned down. Bought a full bottle at ZGO last week.
Favorite animalic fragrances: both indies. The first from an indie house on Etsy called Alkemia. The fragrance is Hellcat. Black oud, black musk, labdanum, spiced pipe tobacco, and black opium. The second is You Complicate Things from Darling Clandestine (also on Etsy). Jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood. That jasmine is... whew! Amazing. Favorite "After Love" story: the first third of Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson.
I just purchased the sample set and took a minute to appreciate Lovers Tale. As it dried down I liked it! No smashing of bees! Thank God I don’t get the urine. I get the leather and tar right away. I do get the fruit at the end. I agree with Dalya 100%. I was more enamored with Sex and the Sea initially but I think the neroli twist would be even more up my alley. Love iris, rose and cherries. Sounds amazing. Don’t have Etruscan Water in my set but would love to try it if it’s not too animatic. Can’t thing of one post love story I can share publically! LOL

Sebastian and Dana, great review of Francesca Bianchi the Lover's Tale. I am a fan of Animalic Fragrances, but I don't have a favorite one at this time...my collection is very limited in Niche Fragrances in general so I would like to acquire some more. Lover's Tale sounds good because it has unique notes and is very sweet with the honey, that iris butter note, and the oily fried Brazilian food that Dana described. I also really enjoy fragrances with a strong leather presence. I am from the USA.

Have Def not tried it. It sounds very intriguing. Post love story huh? TX More than a decade ago, I was seriously dating someone. This person never really was into fragrances. I'm all for them. I have one for the home, car, work, parties etc.... I love trying new fragrances. Well we took the time to try fragrances on her. We would go to perfumeries and have her try one on each arm. While we would test them out we would get into all sorts of trouble. Once, got caught trying to get into a free mason meeting. Did not get very far. We were escorted in golf carts to maybe 5 blocks away from where we had parked and had to walk all the way back. The whole time I couldn't help but notice how amazing one of the fragrances was smelling even when running and sweating. Needless to say, we narrowed it down to one fragrance that day. We did not make it as a couple. We worked much better as friends and we went our seperate ways. Though now for both of us, that fragrance reminds us of each other and the times when we didn't have a care in the world. To this day, she still uses it. Maybe the feeling and meaning of the scent has changed for her, though everytime I smell it on someone, I am instantly transported back to when I was head over heels. Though it's been so long ago and the heart has found roots elsewhere, the beautiful memories come rushing back and my nose smiles.... If that makes any sense, I imagine it makes sense to you two.
This is an intense, overwhelmingly animalic, metalic scent. Totally unbearable on my skin. Great review guys, agree with every single word. Unfortunately, I couldn't smell any peach on my skin.
Post love memory: at glorious dawn butterflies in the stomach as love's perpetual fuel engulfs the bedroom; the essence of sunshine extracted from fresh, white, linen sheets, warmed, translated into the ethereal where it joins the birdsong-filled air flowing in through an open window, these two spirits filling the room with early morning promise. I can still feel that air today. Such as you two describe this bottle of fragrance, I'd love to experience.
I sampled this and was torn between it and the dark side. The dark side slightly edged it out so....I’d love to win this one here in NJ. Btw I get the peachiness on my skin too. My favorite animalic fragrance is Memo Paris Irish Leather. An after sex story....hmmmmm usually a nap or a snack....I know sounds boring but after an intense encounter those two options are my fave.

The animalic notes are what I am most interested in for The Lover's Tale. I am a fan of a good animalic fragrance. My favorite animalic fragrance is Papillon Artison Perfumes 'Salome'. I don't actually have a personal favorite post-love story as I have Schizoid Personality Disorder and one of the hallmark 'symptoms' is basically zero interest in romance and sex LOL That said, I do love a good romance story (books, movies, etc). I love the almost-tragedy of Marianne and Willoughby's love story in Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility'. Luckily, Colonel Brandon was there to swoop in and save Marianne from herself and show her what real love was. I am a sucker for a good time period story. BTW, I live in Lexington, Kentucky USA.

Though now for both of us, that fragrance reminds us of each other and the times when we didn't have a care in the world. To this day, she still uses it. Maybe the feeling and meaning of the scent has changed for her, though everytime I smell it on someone, I am instantly transported back to when I was head over heels. Though it's been so long ago and the heart has found roots elsewhere, the beautiful memories come rushing back and my nose smiles.... If that makes any sense, I imagine it makes sense to you two.

This is an intense, overwhelmingly animalic, metalic scent. Totally unbearable on my skin. Great review guys, agree with every single word. Unfortunately, I couldn't smell any peach on my skin.

I sampled this and was torn between it and the dark side. The dark side slightly edged it out so....I’d love to win this one here in NJ. Btw I get the peachiness on my skin too. My favorite animalic fragrance is Memo Paris Irish Leather. An after sex story....hmmmmm usually a nap or a snack....I know sounds boring but after an intense encounter those two options are my fave.

The animalic notes are what I am most interested in for The Lover's Tale. I am a fan of a good animalic fragrance. My favorite animalic fragrance is Papillon Artison Perfumes 'Salome'. I don't actually have a personal favorite post-love story as I have Schizoid Personality Disorder and one of the hallmark 'symptoms' is basically zero interest in romance and sex LOL That said, I do love a good romance story (books, movies, etc). I love the almost-tragedy of Marianne and Willoughby's love story in Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility'. Luckily, Colonel Brandon was there to swoop in and save Marianne from herself and show her what real love was. I am a sucker for a good time period story. BTW, I live in Lexington, Kentucky USA.

I heard you huffing and wanted to huff with you!!!! Sour grass! She is so great with her descriptions and facial expressions. Make a hyena blush. LOL. I have not tried this house at all. Fave animalic? Probably Roja Enslaved. Post-love story? As in post-coitus or after you break up? I will go with after the breakup. They always seem to come back. Years later. I even had a guy move to England and fly back two years later and show up on my doorstep trying to win me back because he couldn't stop dreaming about me. I was in a relationship with someone else and not about to go back to someone who abandoned me and broke my heart. I am in Ohio.
