The salt that they put on the road mixes with the snow/water and becomes a brine aka an electrolyte capable of carrying current. You had lots of exposed wiring and components under the van, if the salt water got on/in those components it could cause a short because the salt water can carry current just like a wire. Hoping for a good result tomorrow once everything is dried out. Stay strong!
That weather in winter in estonia is warm or normal rather than something wild :D the snowstorm we had in -20 degrees was a bit wild :D got half a meter snow next to my car. One thing I learned is to clean your car and windows, especially on minuses because if you just use your window wipers then you might brake them..
What happened next, Louis? Did you make it? Greetings from Bulgaria!
No more videos of the road? Do you have a recap video of the VW trip?
We were thinking & praying for you with this monster storm knowing you were on the road….back to the video!! 😊~Cara
This was an edge of the seat watch. So glad you guys are safe. I know it's all done in real time now, but I am wishing you had a Christmas miracle. I love the Volts Wagon.
I had a similar van in the '80s, ice of course. Actually I had quite a number of Volkswagen campers that I traveled around the country and Mexico in. This probably sounds crazy but I used to have a little propane heater that I kept between the front seats for days and nights like you experienced !
Really should have strapped a generator to the back of the van. Would have meant a overnight emergency charge+heat
Haven't seen any new videos, I hope all is ok and well..hope u made it safe and sound. .....
Hi Louis, I hope you and Raya are oké. Bit worried now without any news from the both of you.
Strange I wonder what’s going on
In hindsight....I would have checked into that hotel for the night, driven the next day. Cold+snow+night+damp+battery sounds a bad mix!
Why no follwing video about what happend. I was checking every day if you posted any update...I hope you are well.
Longest cliff hanger ever
Riiight. Can't wait for the next vid!
This episode was so good! the editing too! can see your getting into a proper flow and rhythm with the van, really cool to see!
I need the next video !
Thank you Tyler, you are a Human Angel!
I’m so happy this series is still going
