Big fan of Citra VR it's been a lot of fun tinkering and playing some of these games. I could just sit and play Donkey Kong Country till the battery goes. That said, I've played this version with this game, and it's something else. Really good stuff, and we're just at the beginning. Great vid, keep 'em coming! 👊🍺
Watched so many of your videos through my recommended tab throughout the past year until I realized I haven’t been subscribed this entire time. Just did, quality work!
Been trying out this emulator and it's awesome. I also heard rumbling that the dolphin XR project might be gaining traction again. That would be amazing
Yeah I think the aspect ratio may have a few inconsistencies but I think Beardo had the video cropped. A couple of times he looked down a bit and you could see the wheel.
When you set the Quest 3 to record in 1080p landscape, it records higher than it probably should. You can rarely see what your hands were doing. Square video is pretty good, but unfortunately vertical 1080p is probably the best option. You don't miss much of what you saw to the left and right as you were playing, it still records too high, but it goes low enough to still see your hands at least. We have to wait for meta themselves to make the cropping be more centered instead of too high when recording natively.
You gotta try it out with your steering wheel. Quest should be able to support a USB device with an alternative power source. I did it in dolphin VR with MK Wii, heck I think it was your video that inspired me to buy a wheel with pedals and shifter and for good measure I got a HOTAS as well LOL 😅
We go from Dolphin VR requiring a PC playing Mario Kart Wii and needing a headless patch to see properly to Citra with every character, fully native, running great, and you don't need a PC to even install if you use mpbile VR station.
Many people don't know, but you can play in 1st person on the 3ds nativly. If I remember right, you just press up on the D-pad. It defaults to gyroscopic steering, but can be changed back to the stick in the settings.
@gregorydominick4008 If that d-pad thing is true, using the d-pad on citra VR is done by putting one thumb on a thumb rest pad and using the opposite hands joystick temporarily as the d-pad.
I have citraVR (Beta) installed and I have Mario Kart 7 but I don't know where to put those settings. Nothing like Super Immersive Mode Profile 2 and the others.

How do you get rid of the black bars at the top and bottom? The vr view doesn’t show everything, just a really wide screen in the middle which moves with you but with a giant black area above and below the screen
@@BigscreenMetaverseVR what os is your quest on? I thought that the person who made citra vr gave up on updating it and the newest version didn’t work on v68 when I tried. I had to find an older version that would actually work without crashing
In Dolphin VR, the scale is user controllable. But in Citra VR, so far they just have a list of dialed in settings for each supported game, so you won't be able to choose other scales, but they likely picked settings that would be "real scale" by default. You can play around with the settings yourself if you want to try other scales though. But you'll be playing with raw numbers that might make the game pretty barfy if you guess wrong. So I would only experiment if you are fully immune to VR sickness.
if anyone could help me with this issue.. how the heck do you bypass the whole "you have to make a mii" thing when entering mario kart 7? I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how to get mii data on the citra vr emulator. help plz
Quest 3 can handle about 4x or 5x internal render res on most games, the 3ds was 400x240, so 4x and 5x are on either side of 1080p and in 3d. You'll definitely notice some of the more well-optimized games have pretty aggressive LoD(level of detail) models, since the original low pixel count would hide low poly models much sooner than 1080p would. LoD models are lower quality replacement models the game replaces stuff with once it's far enough away from camera that the lower detail wouldn't be noticeable. It saves on processing the vertexes and also has fewer surfaces to texture, and generally lower resolution textures as well.
You’re still not getting it. CitraVR no longer works. Ive used the newest version (2/17/24 Playtest build) and it no longer works. None of this matters anymore since CitraVR isnt a thing anymore
