I've been a fan of electronic music since Prodigy and Fatboy Slim hit American radio in 1997, but it was only after I attended my first DEMF this past year that I really, truly, felt like I understood the culture and history surrounding the music. Maybe understood isn't even the word. I FELT it. From now on, I will make the sojourn to Hart Plaza every year until I die.
Movement is such a GREAT music festival for TRUE music fans. If you've been there you know Detroit isn't the s#!$hole the rest of America describes it as. Truly an amazing city with great people and the best music festival I attend year after year. I would say don't waste your money on some non-sense like Electric Daisy...but then again if you even consider that over this you probably don't deserve to be here in the first place. Keep it up Detroit...I'm a fan for life!
It sucks whats happening in Detroit but it takes a city like that to have such an amazing music festival. TV Bar was rocking from 10pm to 2pm in the middle of the city. But there isn't anyone to complain about noise as every building around it looked abandoned. Great art is born out of suffering and Detroit has had its share for some time now
I'll disagree with U on this all day. This is a person who literally grew up in the throes of this music. Sure, his dad is who he is, but his mother is also a part of the musical landscape, and both of the Saunderson boys are capable musicians in their own right. When U have legend after legend after legend in your living room, at your family events, showing U things all of your life, U either come in succeeding or U come in sucking. His set was one of the highlights of the festival.
Went for my first time this year and I will be back the next! Thank you for staying true to your roots!!!
And then god said.. Give em drum machines. beautiful.

I wish there was something as good as this here in the West Coast.
