She knew he loved another woman and stayed because she also knew he would do the right thing which was working on their marriage for the kids. I love this comment because that's exactly how I see it too. Kathy knew Elliot is a righteous man who'd always do right by her and their children, no matter what. It was obvious to most that he loved Liv but he never acted on it because he loved Kathy too and she and the kids were always his priority. That's also why his children accept and trust Liv too, because they know their father did the right thing and Liv never tried to get in the way.

I know some people may have a problem with what Wheatley is saying but this is honestly how I always saw the situation. Elliot loved both Kathy and Olivia, but he married Kathy very young, and perhaps older Elliot would not have, and he met his true love in Olivia and she in him. However, no matter how he felt about Olivia, Kathy and the kids were his life and he would always choose them, and like he said when she died, they were truly very happy the last 10 years, probably the happiest they’d ever been. That’s not wasting Kathy’s time, that’s honoring the life they built together and honoring their love and commitment, even though he had strong feelings for someone else.

What a scene. I absolutely loved it. He went from saying to the love of his life maybe but then he said his one true love. Damn. Kathy was the love of his life cuz he had kids with her. But he said that other woman is his one true love. We all know it's Olivia Benson. Elliot can't live without her. And vice versa.
I actually like that Wheatley is making Stabler confront his feelings for Benson. This is going to be a great topic moving forward in the show. Also, I can definitely see the ex-wife making up the story about how she just was talking out of emotion when it came to killing Kathy. She seems like she could have that kind of ruthlessness in her.
Agree. With Wheatley putting that out into the universe, it makes it real and El will have to face those feelings. When he said it, my head almost exploded! I can't believe they finally verbalized what we've known forever. You can't bottle that up again. I hope they explore their feelings with each other and we get to see them easing into a romantic relationship.

I totally see Wheatley being a Heel-Face Revolving Door-type in the next season. Not a good guy, but definitely giving the heroes help at some time or another.
I dont think they'll let him make it to trial... just cuz the court case would take years and I dont see them going down that road, I think they're looking to wrap it up in the finale and then Elliot will be left to deal with the aftermath of his trauma. Though if they did go the court route, I'd love to see Novak or Cabot return to try the case.

The moment they showed Stabler, a part of me wanted to see Cragen, Huang, Munch, Finn, Cabot Novak, etc. Obviously I knew it wasn't going to have the same feel as things change. However, it got better and better. Nonstop action and suspense. It's a great show that stands on its own. I still watch SVU when I can, but the stories have gotten so stale imo. Then again, it's 22 years old...Every conceivable type of case has been done. Regardless, one of the best franchises ever.

Elliott's kids know... You can tell... But they don't resent Liv or act hostile. You have to think that on some level Kathy knew as well. I remember in one of the seasons, I'm thinking 5 or maybe 6, Kathy tells Liv that she sometimes felt threatened by how close she and Elliott were. Also, when Kathy wanted a divorce and Elliott wouldn't sign the papers, Kathy went to Liv to get her to convince him it was for the best. I can't remember why they didn't get divorced... Was it because Kathy got pregnant again?

I loved this. I think we all know he’s talking about Olivia and that’s always been something we’ve low key known... that they had feelings for each other and a deep love but didn’t go there because he was married. I actually think it would be a beautiful story if they repaired their friendship and them one day eventually ended up together.
That is the thing, their friendship is a mess. They still love each other; however, Olivia is still mad and Elliott is living guilt hell. Left Olivia hurt, just her hurt her again by coming back. Left Cathy to be put in an ambulance alone to stare at Olivia for minutes on end. Guilt.

I would to see like to how this pans out. My prediction is that Wheatley knew about Stabler and Benson the whole time. After seeing the Wheatley character, he is like a grandmaster in chess and waiting to strike at the right moment. I think Wheatley was focused on both of them because I believed it was case from the past that Wheatley could have been involved and vowed revenge because Benson and Stabler ruined it for him. Another prediction for season 2 is that Wheatley would entered an alliance with a past SVU villain that could either held a grudge on Benson or Stabler or both. My gut tells me it would be Rob Miller or Anne Gillette

No, Angela didn't know Elliot before Kathy died. Richard manipulated Angela into thinking that Elliot had killed Rafi. He did it for two reasons. He didn't want to take the fall for Rafi's murder and risk losing Angela as he was still in love with her. Two, Elliot was taking down his organization over in Rome (it's part of the reason why Elliot came back to testify in a trial about Richard's goons). So of course Angela wants revenge against the man that killed her son. She wanted Elliot to suffer in the worst way possible. Then after she meets Elliot she realizes that he didn't kill Rafi as she was led to believe and falls for him. I don't know why she thinks that Elliot would still want to be with her after learning she had a part in Kathy's death. But unfortunately for her she learns here that there's someone else he's more in love with than even his wife.

I totally see Wheatley being a Heel-Face Revolving Door-type in the next season. Not a good guy, but definitely giving the heroes help at some time or another.
I dont think they'll let him make it to trial... just cuz the court case would take years and I dont see them going down that road, I think they're looking to wrap it up in the finale and then Elliot will be left to deal with the aftermath of his trauma. Though if they did go the court route, I'd love to see Novak or Cabot return to try the case.

The moment they showed Stabler, a part of me wanted to see Cragen, Huang, Munch, Finn, Cabot Novak, etc. Obviously I knew it wasn't going to have the same feel as things change. However, it got better and better. Nonstop action and suspense. It's a great show that stands on its own.
I still watch SVU when I can, but the stories have gotten so stale imo. Then again, it's 22 years old...Every conceivable type of case has been done.
Regardless, one of the best franchises ever.

Elliott's kids know... You can tell... But they don't resent Liv or act hostile. You have to think that on some level Kathy knew as well. I remember in one of the seasons, I'm thinking 5 or maybe 6, Kathy tells Liv that she sometimes felt threatened by how close she and Elliott were. Also, when Kathy wanted a divorce and Elliott wouldn't sign the papers, Kathy went to Liv to get her to convince him it was for the best. I can't remember why they didn't get divorced... Was it because Kathy got pregnant again?

I actually think it would be a beautiful story if they repaired their friendship and them one day eventually ended up together.
That is the thing, their friendship is a mess. They still love each other; however, Olivia is still mad and Elliott is living guilt hell. Left Olivia hurt, just her hurt her again by coming back. Left Cathy to be put in an ambulance alone to stare at Olivia for minutes on end. Guilt.

I would to see like to how this pans out. My prediction is that Wheatley knew about Stabler and Benson the whole time. After seeing the Wheatley character, he is like a grandmaster in chess and waiting to strike at the right moment. I think Wheatley was focused on both of them because I believed it was case from the past that Wheatley could have been involved and vowed revenge because Benson and Stabler ruined it for him. Another prediction for season 2 is that Wheatley would entered an alliance with a past SVU villain that could either held a grudge on Benson or Stabler or both. My gut tells me it would be Rob Miller or Anne Gillette

No, Angela didn't know Elliot before Kathy died. Richard manipulated Angela into thinking that Elliot had killed Rafi. He did it for two reasons. He didn't want to take the fall for Rafi's murder and risk losing Angela as he was still in love with her. Two, Elliot was taking down his organization over in Rome (it's part of the reason why Elliot came back to testify in a trial about Richard's goons).
So of course Angela wants revenge against the man that killed her son. She wanted Elliot to suffer in the worst way possible. Then after she meets Elliot she realizes that he didn't kill Rafi as she was led to believe and falls for him.
I don't know why she thinks that Elliot would still want to be with her after learning she had a part in Kathy's death. But unfortunately for her she learns here that there's someone else he's more in love with than even his wife.

@@leewright1209 coming after stabler first doesn't seem to be his style.Wheatley gives me the impression that he is far more methodical and calculating than that. He doesn't just want to do him in he wants him to suffer to hurt him. He wants him to watch in agony as is helpless to stop him. He knows that if he hurts Benson it accomplishes that. See stables children are to obvious. His wife is already dead. So that leaves her.

Dylan McDermott did an excellent job as Wheatley in this episode amazing as the Villain and plays so good you love to hate but hot at the same time can’t resist! I was shocked he knew about Olivia omg! That expression Stabler looking at him leaving when Wheatley ask what is her name again Elliot? That look in his eye ready to kill him if he goes near Olivia! You got give it to Wheatley even he knows the truth about Elliot relationship with Olivia! I love that line both a hot mess so funny love it!

This is McDermott's finest acting ...I've always thought him a little stiff and generic...but he showed me something here...just terrific...I didn't want the scene to end...and some of the best writing I've EVER seen on any Law & Order

I loved this scene! Elliot wouldn't keep eye contact with Wheatley until he started talking about Liv. Then in realization that Wheatley knows who Liv is he stares him down! Only looks away when he realizes what Wheatley is saying is right! That was a taunting threat from Wheatley but he's lucky he didn't say her name..... I hope there is recording of Angela!
