I believe the distributor might be AquaPremium these days (this video was from a while ago), you should be able to find it at Majestic Aquariums in Sydney
Great kit, used a lot here in South Africa. Bud how's about a sump update and if you have any regrets now that your setup is running and if you plan to add or remove any future equipment
Great video Sam, looks like this is a great start point for someone just starting out on testing. Would love to know the resolution of the copper test to know if it is useful for quarantine copper dosing levels.
Must be nice having everything consolidated into one kit. I primarily use Red Sea test kits - I've considered making a case that places everything into one easy storage solution.
I'd get slammed so bad for uploading an hour long video of me testing every element :P If you have any specific questions - fire away here and I'll help you out
Salifert versus aquaforest for kh, calc and mag? I like salifert for kh but colour changes for calcium and mag are really subtle, so thinking of switching to aquaforest or Red Sea?
Do individual vials have a expiry date? I would guess I would test things like copper extremely rarely so it's possible they could go out of date. How many tests roughly? Information: €98.53 from Amazon in Germany.
Correct. I don’t have the knowledge, time, facilities or patience to do it properly, therefore it’s not worth me doing (in my opinion) I purchase healthy fish, lower risk fish and run a large UV. My LFS will WT a fish for me if I deem it to be a higher risk. Has worked for me, but it’s not for everyone :)
Great video, again. I'm such a lazy goof when it comes to water testing. Usually miss no more than a week, but still - I was looking at the Mastertronic for automatic testing.
Great review and something I'll definitely look into - The ability to buy the reagents as needed is indeed a major selling point for this... P.S. You're the experienced reefer with the Dream Reef Tank, and I"m just the "noob" flailing all over the place with my first tank, but the OCD side of me cant get over the fact that your 4 x MP60's aren't in a straight line across the back of your tank!

$280 ain't bad...take 12 Hanna checkers at ~$90 each, and the economics are pretty obvious... Beyond that, I guess it comes down to comparable accuracy. Nice review, Sam. Will need to look further into this 👍👍
So good to see a review on the JBL kit Sam! I've been using their kits for years now since I had the old fish room running, I also had them for testing water for customers when I ran an aquarium maintenance business, & they were much more reliable than other brands. even helped me troubleshooting issues when other tests were giving bad readings. I've trusted them for years, so glad Australia finally has a distributor & I dont have to keep importing them from Germany! 😁
Not a huge fan of hanna checkers, too many historical problems. I do like their phosphate one (the martini is the same as they larger phos device), alk works but it's such an easy manual test and all the others are just way to complicated
I don’t make it a habit to diss products but this is the most inaccurate test kit on the market, icp test blew every test out the water, the magnesium was 400ppm out, it’s been available in uk for a longtime, its £80 for the whole test kit, I also had it checked with a friend with Hanna test kit and had other people do the tests with this kit, it’s a bad choice.
@@ParkersReef try sending an icp test of the same water you’ve used mate, mag for instance showed at 900ppm virtually every time I tested it with the jbl kit, in reality the mag was 1300ppm with icp test

@@ParkersReef maybe they have improved them over the years, I used this kit about 3 years ago and it put me off jbl completely. I know there is a margin of error between users and how they complete tests and how they might read the colour change which is why I got others to test with them and read results, unless I had a bad kit and suppose I could of, but it’s strange they where all quite far out, mag was worst, I will get another jbl kit and test the kh against my alkatronic see how accurate that is now and I will test the mag one against my salifert and redsea mag kit see what result I get :)
Nice to see you don't use to much tech and still use the chemical way..keep up the good work..
