jemi was right about how sometimes you wont like how your locs look and youll want to get rid of em, but if you wait youll be appreciative. when my locs were only 4-5 inches i debated getting rid of them many times. now they are much longer and im glad i kept with it.
@@kounijiamba7454 yes I sure am 11, thanks for noting. You had to take 3 fucking comments to reply, you literally have the common sense of a kinder-gardener .
J.T. Morgan this has 54k views lol he has the attention. I’m just saying keep doing the videos and record it as a podcast at the same time. Like Ryan Higa has been doing. I mean that’s if he’s into it is his content at the end of the day I just think it would do really well. Especially because there’s not much if any podcasts about dreads or Afro hair. Just an idea and Ik Gunther doesn’t necessarily do it for the money but that’s just adding another thing to profit off of as well. Just a thought tho. 🤷🏾♀️
Im 3 months in😊 im somewhat satisfied. Some days i just get up and look in the mirror and say” yo, i gotta take these out”😂but now they’re pretty decent
man when i started watching your channel i didn’t have any dreads now i’m like 8 months in, keep doing your thing 👍🏾 i’ve thought about cutting it a couple times but wen i watch ur videos it inspires me to stick to the journey
I started my dread journey 2 weeks ago,im Sri Lankan and my jamaican sister inlaw did them for me.I cant believe how neat they are after watching and reading alot of things online!Ive seen so many techniques and the best for straight hair is to section, back comb, roll then attack with a crochet needle from all angles!Hope this helps anyone
I started my freeform dreads in around January when I was in college(I’m 19 by the way)and I didn’t even realize I was making dreads for myself😂. I always wondered how to get dreads and everytime I thought I was doing it, I never went through with it but I finally did😂I used the sponge for mines. But yes it does takes time and patience💯
I didn't think that my hair was never gana grow then I get rid of my dreads, then went to braids. It's been 4 years since 5 grade - 8. I still got them
The funny thing is I already subbed to her!😀I’m glad to see her on this series. Who else was just observing the people in the background?! LoL I was. My attention span is too short! I could barely even pay attention to the conversation.🤷🏿♂️HAHA!😁
Thats Jemi! Its her and..they really in a same video! This is ironman and spiderman crossover level shit! What..when...how? Im geeking out rn holy shit man!! I been watching her videos since she was in 3 digit number of suscribers!
My daughter started her dreadlocks before going to college it hasn't been 2 months yet, she doesn't know how to do her hair at home I'm the one doing her hair, braids, conrow, etc...same as her short hair, now first week of college she feels like she's not cute because the short dreadlocks. I send her this video I wish she get she's not alone and is a process.
I felt everything they said my 2 year anniversary just past and I love my locs I was skeptical about them at first but fast forward 2 years and I’m glad I started them the confidence and patience I’ve acquired is astronomical if you’re thinking about getting dreads just get them try it out you might just surprise yourself ✊🏾
Hey Gunther quick question how long does it take for new growth to lock up after you retwist your dreads btw you know encourage me to get dreads I’ve always wanted them since I was 14 I’m 17 now and you encourage me to actually do it so thank you vro
Basically alot of people do not cover this but retwisting does not make your new growth lock up, your hair does that by itself over time, retwisting just keeps your hair in its respected sections and neat temporarily. I'd say itll take about 2 months max for you to notice any kind of locking if your hair is somewhat coarse, it can take alot longer depending on your hair type. I talk about it in some of my youtube vids, hope this helps
@@VRALLSTARS17 oooh the braidloc method is by far the longest, I have a mate who also started off with that route, 4 years down the the line you can still vaguely see where the braids were, I'd say give it 3-4 for the extra new growth to come in and you'll start to notice some lockage 💪🏿
DreadEd Fem Ik I’m a dreadlock expert and with braidlocks you will still see the pattern of the braid in your dreadlocks cuz it’s only the surface of the hair that’ll be able to lock it’s actually a fact and I’ve had them in for one month and already I’m getting really good results plus I’m using a crochet hook to speed up the process and the longest method is twisting with gel cuz I had a friend that’s been doing that for a full year and his hair is still barley locked up
ツMizushi that's just a natural part of the starting process. give it some more time and it'll start locking up. my hair only started locking after 10 or so months into it. stick with the process and good luck!!
This my first time seeing this channel but I got my starter starter locs already and I can’t lie I’ve been gettin hella complements I’ve always wanted dreds since I was a teen but I never had the patience, money nor the help at ,that time to keep em up so I stuck with having waves and temp fades
I gave up on my dreads they didn’t turn out the way I wanted to had them in for about a year and barley grew and I wanted high top dreads and they grew towards my shoulder😐
It would be so cool if you could get knot nation on here!

I've gotten patience by just letting the hair grow first before I lock it. Shits been a year and half.
