I was a child when 8 is enough was on but I had an celebrity crush on him. Good actor & singer. I talked to him earlier this year & he was so sweet. I wish I could send him a FB request but I can just follow him cause he reached his limit of friends. He told me about another page but I forgot what that was.
Thank you for posting these. Always liked Willie Aames, very humble man who never sought to pass any blame to others. Owned his mistakes. He deserves our respect.
I agree 🥰 my dad was the drummer of this band and it is very cool to have these videos. I lost him last year to COVID, and have since been connected to Willie and a few other members of the band.. I’m very glad I’m able to share their memories with those who remember and loved them 😊
@@rileybaker6622 - Thank you for posting this video as I have not seen it since 1979 and thought I never would see it again. I just wish your dad was still here so I could thank him too. Hopefully he is reading from above.
ABdancers you’re welcome! My dad is the drummer of this band and I wanted to keep these videos for as long as possible. Made it easier to share with family
ABdancers Barry only gave us a dvd with these on them.. I have 2 other videos on m page from the mike Douglas show and eight is enough. It took me FOREVER to figure out how to export these 😂 in the eight is enough clip, willie says “Pete, hit it!” My dad is pete 😅
Riley baker I watched your other Paradise band videos as well. Great to see them playing on Eight is Enough. Is "Barry" - Barry Glazer the director of American Bandstand?
Thanks for sharing this! I have the B-side (my personal fave) to the first song on my channel. I didn't realize that Willie had grown up playing several instruments before getting into acting. I think I prefer his vocal style (and general stage persona) to Scott Baio's.
I like Willie. He had a rough row to hoe but has come through. He is down to Earth, and I grew up seeing him play Tommy Bradford, and very well. He was given some pretty adult storylines for a high school character. Wishing Willie the very best.
Most actors of that era had to not only act but sing and dance. It's called 'triple threat'. Today, of course, there are no such requirements. You don't even have to have any acting skill. Notice Jamie Lee Curtis won an Oscar? There ya go!
Surprisingly even though Scott and Willie did Charles In Charge, I always think of Happy Days and Eight Is Enough when I see them. I was born in 1978 and grew up watching those shows. Unfortunately my parents had my hair cut like Nicholas from Eight is Enough bowl cut.
Like him as a actor. The singing is comical and is like a Brady Bunch Gregory Bravo quick money stint. I am surprised they let him on Bandstand! Cute but embarrassing. Let him go! .
No different from John Travolta, Leif Garrett, Shaun Cassidy, and tons of actors who perform primarily for teenage girls. Not comical or embarrassing. That's what you do to make an honest living. As if you stand on some sort of moral high ground to degrade an entertainer who makes a particular audience happy. Your role in life appears to be something much less valuable, which ironically makes you comical and embarrassing. Now you are dismissed.
I had such a crush on Willie Ames! ❤
I’m obsessed with this song.

It's was a different time. I grew up in the time. IT WAS FUN!😁
From his first movie, SCAVENGER HUNT (1979)!

Thank you great passion
A very Underrated singer
Lolol
The sleek days of high-waisted trousers and tucked-in tees. People looked really good.
I always loved that song by Cheryl Ladd, now I love it even more by Willie and his group.
Dolly Parton and Nona Hendryx also recorded this song around 1980.
Riley baker Thank you for posting this excellent American Bandstand footage from 1979 of Willie Aames and Paradise.

Riley baker That's cool your Dad was the drummer for Paradise. Do you have this complete American Bandstand episode or just the footage you posted?

Lol no Barry Hovis in the band!!
I have this 45 record. Found it on Ebay :) Good tune !
thanks for posting these, hehe this one does say the year in the title❣
Bible Man rocks out!!

He could really sing
When singers were cute and the music was easy to listen to
Got an early jump on the lip syncing though.
@@blakfloyd Hmmmm. I'm not so sure that was lip synching. But I'll email my assistant and have her look into it.

A decent song 👍
Good songs. Since Phoebe Cates sang the movie "Paradise"'s theme song, I think Willie should have sung with her in that movie.
Must of been when lots of actors tried doing it all david soul even sang so did others.

Gallagher was on base?
I didn't know Willie Aames could sing.
His 47 year old uncle Phil was on base
Had no idea he sang but i was in 4th grade don’t really remember.
2 songs and interview
Does anyone remember him performing a song called "Shadow Boxing"?
Liko Lobe I’ll ask my dad if he remembers playing it with them
Shadow dancing?
Very Andy Gibb-ish
Damn fux no
Very Underrated singer
I know him from Charles in Charge with Scott Baio.
As Buddy Lembeck! Cool sitcom.
@@jasonbertalotto2355 And Eight is Enough (1977-81) of course.
@@craigsmith157 Yes indeed. Cool show.

@@hoagie1978 I did too
I do think Willie Aames sings a little better than Scott Baio. Like them both, but just going on quality of singing.
Scott Baio can't sing for shit.
I bought both of Scott Baio's albums. I'd buy an album of Willie's, too.
Aames wasn't a bad singer at all. Remind me a bit of Andy Gibbs here.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You sound jealous
