    Jillian is totally right about this. I did it by accident and had two cheat days of around 3000 calories....took 3 days off weight lifting and wala! I lost 5 pounds after like a month of lingering around the same weight!

    Shes right on, I was cutting back on calories, eating clean and killing it in the gym, my weight actually stabilized, and I was like WTF is going on, I should be dropping weight like a heavy rain, the problem was, I wasn't taking enough time off or eating enough and my body adjusted to keep my weight right where it was. She knows what she is talking about.

    I been eating 1200 calories a day, scale and all. Being 100% honest with myself, no cheats. Been working out every day & I can't lose any more weight ..... based off this video I probably need a break and a nice well deserved high calorie day 👏 finally someone explained it well.

    I weigh myself every day so I noticed I’ve been between 127-128 for over a month now. I workout daily, no breaks ( realized this is a mistake). I eat in a calorie deficit too.. yesterday I ate about 2300 calories and didn’t work out. I’ll take 2 more days off. I’ll be back to report on my progress!
    Hi guys! I’m here to give my report back. So after two weeks of doing what she said, now my scale number is finally dropping down again. I tried to take breaks whenever my body didn’t feel like it, changed some workouts here and there, I was eating two meals a day but I started eating three meals but still healthy and with the required calories. So it worked for me guys and I’m happy! If you’re reading this , don’t be afraid to take that break, your body needs it more than you can imagine. Also get 8 hours of sleep and drink your water! Please update us. I'm in the same boat. I workout without breaks (knowing it's a mistake as well) I weight lift and HIIT workouts. I eat high protein and low carb low sugar. I ate around 2,500 calories yesterday. I gained 4lbs 😞 now I'm second guessing myself. I ate healthy calories. Most all of them were healthy. Nuts, yogurt, grilled chicken sandwich (600 calories) steamed broccoli, and 5 homemade cookies 😐, and half a bag of "healthy" popcorn. Idk what to today. I'm back to the comments looking for hope. I think I'm going to workout again today.

    I'm doing intermittent fasting and got stressed from a knee injury this spring. I rehabbed the knee but I believe the stress really affected my overall sense of well-being as I have had very little weight loss since. I feel it's a plateau as I'm eating the same. So I'll try to be patient and move my eating and exercise schedules around a bit. For me, I think it's very hard to lose weight if I am stressed or unhappy. It has to be a joyous thing! 😊

      @@nytrisha8851 It worked wonders!!! I was stuck at 68kg for ages and am now at 58kg 5 months later :) slow and steady weight loss but this trick has helped me push past many plateaus! I ate 2500-3000 calories for one day and then upped calories by 10-15% each time and I’m actually eating more calories now and losing more 👏🏼😍
      Just have to be patient with it as it’s scary as you’ll see the scale go up for 2-3 days after the higher calorie day but don’t worry it is NOT fat it’s just water etc from the food and then your metabolism kicks back into gear and the weight dropped fast after that.

    • @FruityLiana
      @FruityLiana Год назад +6

      @@hannahkocher9198 So for example (this will be different for each person but for me personally) I was at a plateau eating about 1200-1300 so I then had a very high calorie day (about 3000 calories) and the next day I added 10-15% of extra calories to what I was eating previously (so it was 1200-1300 so I upped the calories to about 1450 total) and just kept the calories as that, when I hit another plateau I reduced calories by 50 per week until I got back to 1200 ish and then did the same process again, high calorie day and adding calories.
      I am aware that 1200 is way too low but I’ve been dieting for over 6 months and lost over 15kg so it’s normal weight loss is slower. I am now upping calories in reverse diet style very slowly by 50 calories every week or every 2 weeks to try and be eating a minimum of 1500 to continue my fat loss journey!
      I hope this helps 💖

    I tried her suggestion and it worked! My weight stall was about a month long. I was eating at 1600 and exercising 30-45 min of low impact workouts 5x a week. I was weighing my food and technically should have had a 500-600 calorie deficit. But like I said I had not lost weight for an entire month. So I did her suggestion and had a high calorie day. I upped my calories to 1750-1900 for 2 weeks and did no workouts. Which is longer than she suggested. And after 2 weeks I was down 1.5 lbs. Today I am back on my weight loss plan and will eat 1500 5x a week and 2 higher calorie days of 1800. This is why I am taking my weight loss super slow. I exercise 4 to 6 days a week. 1200to 1500 caloroes a day but I eat whatever I want. My exercises aren't super high intensity. I am toning but scale isn't budging much. But I think inches are coming off. I don't feel overly tired or hungry either.

    I've been doing IF for the past 3 months with GREAT results. I have NOT been tracking my caloric intake. Just knowing that I eat smaller portions as compared to my pre IF period. I'm very active, as I work out 4x a week, so I know I expend a lot of energy regularly. I've now hit a plateau.
    My question is this: How long should I eat at an increased caloric amount before switching back to my reduced portions?

    I feel like I've been stuck on a plateau for quite some time now. I have been eating around 1200-1400 cal for a while (jumping from dietician to dietician). I workout out a lot and still see nothing. I want to start increasing my calories but I just do not know how to do it properly. I am taking about 1 week of rest (no exercise). I am kind of scared to gain some fat if I increase my calories, but I feel like this is the only way I'll break my plateau.

    Wow thats kinda what I just did. I wasn't on a plateau but I had been craving a bunch of junk food and I gave myself 1 day to eat anything I want. I then did a 1 day fast the next day and was suprised that I felt energized and good all the way up to like 8pm which is when I started to feel it. Now I'm not craving junk food, I feel energized by all the carbs, and lost a little bit of weight. I'm going to do this every 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see how it will work when I really hit that plateau.

    Jillian I have a question for you. I've been physically active the majority of my adult life. I have been involved in sports of some kind since I was 4 years old. I ran track and cross country in high school. I started weight training at 19. I did some bodybuilding into my 20's. I am 44 years old. I've never had a weight problem. I run anywhere from 30 to 50 plus miles a week. I get to the gym at least 2 to 3 times a week. I basically exercise everyday-7 days a week. I never eat junk food with the exception of some desert during holidays with family. I eat a clean diet of lean meats and vegetables. My Dad comes in to town every once in a while. Last time he came he bought a package of chocolate chip cookies for himself that he never ate. I put them in the freezer to keep them from going bad in case he wants them when he comes back. Well last night I decided to try one. I ended up binging on about 5 cookies. I woke up this morning and ran almost 11 miles at a FASTER pace than I normally run. Is it possible my body stored that sugar as energy I used today? I just found it kind of strange that I ran so well this morning.
