When I was a child we watched and waited, dreaming, imagining, what ending we would witness and cry as we slowly understood a chapter was closing in our lives. Now we who witnessed the golden age of anime are growing old. But we were young once like all of you now. One thing I can pass on to you young ones is hold on to your youth and follow your dreams. One day you will wake up older and help youths like I’ve and others have helped you, it’s a cycle that we must not let die.
Talking to my daughter this past weekend. She turns 23 this year. And telling her she should really try to get the Tenchi OAV DVDs if she can find them. She was just a tiny baby when Tenchi was airing on the cartoon network everyday after work.
Well sadly, it's now in the hands of NBC-UNIVERSAL, all because of Pioneer Animation and Geneon selling out to Universal Studios, en route to the 2010 merger with the National Broadcasting Company, NBC, one of America's Big 4 TV Networks and the first to broadcast in Color, plus the record holder of the most tuned into year of American television... the 1985-86 season, where these show's made their mark that season: Knight Rider, Miami Vice, The A Team, Remington Steele, St. Elsewhere, Punky Brewster, The Cosby Show, 227, The Golden Girls, Family Ties, Highway To Heaven, Misfits of Science, Hunter, Riptide, Hot Pursuit, Night Court, Cheers, Alfred Hitchcock Presents..., The Smurfs, The Chipmunks, The Last Precinct, Cannell's Stingray, MLB Game of the Week, Super Bowl 20 and to cap it all off, the summer 1986 debut of L.A. Law and a brand spanking new logo for the 60th Anniversary of NBC... the 6 feathered Peacock that would be associated with the network throughout the rest of the century, and it's still in use with a few modern tweaks like new outlines and lettering.
@@shaneharrisnj3484 This is actually because the US stopped enforcing fair competition and antitrust laws. Back in the day, the US was very strict about maintaining fair competition and preventing monopolies from forming (or oligopolies, where 2-4 giant companies control 85-90% of the market, and can easily act as a cartel). Reagan admin saw a bunch of laissez-faire free market economists, who had basically no evidence, but had a lot of _theoretical_ arguments, saying these antitrust laws were bad, and we should stop enforcing them, since they're a drag on the economy. Wall street loved this idea. So, we stopped blocking mergers, we stopped enforcing fair competition, and we just let giant companies do whatever they want. And we've been doing for ever since, 40 years, both republican and democrat administrations. The result is every important industry today is dominated by a monopoly (Boeing, Google, Amazon, etc), or an oligopoly (airlines, health insurance, grocery stores, meatpacking, insurance, pharmacies, defense, oil, pharmaceuticals, etc). Contrary to Reagan era economists that this would result in a fat and wealthy middle class, in reality, it's just leeched wealth out of the middle class, and created extreme concentrations of capital at the highest levels, resulting in worsening inequality. We use to have 30 or so media companies in the US. Now there are 5 giant conglomerates, and there's talk about someone buying ABC and merging down into 4. If you want to know why TV sucks, and media today is so lame and homogenous, this is why. There's just a few giant, inefficient, and calcified companies behind everything. And there is no pressure to innovate, compete, or deliverer a good product. That's because these media companies have market share, and they can use their size to remain dominant, no matter how awful their product is. It's true for all oligopolies.
@@tetsuyatsurugi9250 Thats also a catchy one from Sonia. But I find that this song has a catchier beat thanks to Sharyn Scott. She also sings Talent for love for the ending credit rolls.
naw. Good song, no doubt. But lonely moon is better, IMHO. Pioneer is so upbeat (which is a good thing) but the melancholy of lonely moon fits the series so much better.
I always wished they had dubbed the tenchi in Tokyo opening but it never happened :( some of these old pioneer opening song dubs are nice the one for tenchi TV was amazing!
This takes me back and makes me feel hecka old at the same time. I was, like, 14 or so when Tenchi Muyo was on TV. Not even sure how I found the CD online and IDEK if the site is still up. I'm 98% my CD had been played so much it now no longer works. (May have to stick into the PS4 and check later. That thing's so new (ok, a year old) I haven't even tried to play CD's on it. Anway, I don't have an ipod, so I still have a TON of my childhood CDs. That's how ancient I am. Like Washu. :3 ^_^ Edit: No, the PS4 can't play CDs. Cue my heartbreak in an a dramatic anime fashion!! Edit: Or maybe it does? Just read another thing that says they updated it. Well, will just have to try and find out!
I have a feeling that you enjoy Tenchi series as you uploaded a lot of the songs from the soundtrack - all I gotta say is thanks!! Reason I decided to subscribe to your channel! Great job! More songs from anime series ;) A great opening to the second act of this series.
Best English anime opening ever. Sharyn puts her entire being into her performance and you can tell she just loves singing it.
I'm usally all about original Japanese versions when it comes to anime but... Yeah. This version is probably better than the Japanese one.

Hi I'm here a year later to say that including Tenchii Muyo in the "golden age of anime" is basically a crime. Please go to nostalgia jail.

You know what's really funny? This show was localized by _PIONEER_ Entertainment. Almost makes you wonder if that was intentional.

SO many great memories; Tenchi Muyo OVA episodes are the best!
truly
I really miss those days when anime theme songs got dubbed. There are so many good catchy J-pop that never get to shine outside of Japan.
I love this song. It feels inspiring and I can't help but smile every time I listen to this.
A nice sativa strain makes all tenchi muyo songs better.
Tenchi and me go way back.
Love this song
Best song of the series!
What about Univerese theme?

Who’s here because of Cosmic Wonders and its wonderful moon elf singer?
yehe :)
Me!!
Me too!
Where can I buy or download this song?
Probably iTunes or the website that allows you to buy off from the soundtrack digitally. Otherwise, use a website that converts youtube to mp3.
