@@wanderingwhere I haven't been there in 10 years. I used to rent out the old school cottage on the beach. Lots of wine and watch the storms come in. Now apparently there is a zip line to the beach.

@@wanderingwhere had chilli and stovies as the evening offerings at my back garden wedding in Edinburgh, round about end of covid summer 2021.
Stovies got demolished. Big debates over whether there should be beef chunks, corned beef chunks or sausage. Its all good. Especially with salt, pepper maybe brown sauce.
Also laughed at the haddock. Took my daughter down to West Sussex to meet family and went to a chippy.

Mostly haddock in all Scottish chippies. Cod, Plaice you're ooooh fancy dan. Also did not know about Edinburgh chippy sauce (Brown sauce & Vinegar) too funny. Confusion on both their faces.😆
Haddock got sooo much more flavour than cod, but each to their own....trip is looking good, have fun!

The ferry goes over to Stornaway. Home of Peat n Diesel, although Boydie does have a pint in Ullapool.

Where you went after Ullapool is known as Assynt. Got to be one of my most favourite areas of Scotland. Stunning landscape. You should’ve went up a smaller hill in that area called Stac Pollaidh ,pronounced Stack polly. The views from atop are out of this world

@@wanderingwhere once you’re up at the bealach there’s the option of going further on to a westerly summit,which is a bit of a tough scramble. But you can either admire the views from the bealach or head up to an eastern point which is no problem at all.
The views from such a small mountain are absolutely stunning. Even just the drive through Assynt is a different level 👌
Last time l left Ullapool bloody satnave got lost it sent me hear there and every where ended up in fort Augustus 😅 on my way to fort William 😂😂
Great pub at the end of the road had my dog in live music but I used the camp site behind the pub

You're right, Scottish don't eat prepacked stovies, we make our own. Very easy and can use various ingredients sausages, roast beef, corned beef, whatever you fancy. Usually served with oatcakes and beetroot
i need to look into it ... i need it again in my life bit like mince beef and onions but oatcake and beety sounds great

You can get the ferry over to Dunoon. Its Amazing. Then get the ferry over to portavadie . Go for a coffee at the hotel. The owner is a nice guy.

If you go over to Dunoon go to Pucks Glen waterfalls I was there last year it’s absolutely beautiful Adam.

@@wanderingwhere try avoid public holidays and sunny days as it’s always absolutely heaving with people. They actually had to double yellow line the surrounding roads due to the large influx of new outdoorsy folk just abandoning cars nearby to go see it
Its a little hidden gem. To get to the stairs you need to walk from the small carpark walk down the road cross the little bridge walk to the end of the brick wall on your left amd head In 😎👍
Done that last year it was amazing iam sure you will have fab time mate

I remember driving from Torridon to Ullapool one time in order to go to the chippy. Well worth it. It was a wet and windy day so no going up the mountains. Stunning scenery to drive through.

Wow now thats a waterfall looks like a great place to explore and visit. The drone footage was amazing flying up the gorge that was pretty impressive and brave of you doing that. Looking up at the bridge from the drone really did show it off. The sandy beaches are just so clean and the water looks so clear. Enjoy the week and stay stealthy.

Again keep up the good work! West, North west and the north coast are by far the most stunning parts, east coast has some good parts but more historical rather than scenic.

Adam, to avoid getting burnt each time, use a long-spouted gas lighter to light the stove instead of a fag lighter. They are really cheap to buy and available just about everywhere.
You are such a food philistine - almost always haddock with chips in Scotland and much of the north of England.
BTW, The haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus) is a member of the cod family. It is found in the North Atlantic Ocean and associated seas, where it is an important species for fisheries, especially in northern Europe, where it is marketed fresh, frozen and smoked; smoked varieties include the Finnan haddie and the Arbroath smokie.
