@@wilfriedvomacka1783mark also did Twister. I remember one night, on probably my 50th viewing of Twister, that I kept hearing the Speed theme, but not. So I looked it up. And whaddya know? Absolutely outstanding composer.
But I don't get goosebumps from this. I love it to no end, but from this movie, only the opening riff. Those opening twelve notes... 😍

Whatever happened to action movies with scores like this one? I just saw Hobbs and Shaw nothing but hip-hop music every 20 minutes. I couldn’t tell if I was watching an action movie, comedy, or a rap music video

Not only will we never see movies like that again, but I find it so crazy how certain premises for movies or TV shows won't even work anymore think about George Costanza sneaking into the girls' house to get the tape out of the answering machine it doesn't even make sense anymore

I agree. Even Trevor Rabin’s score in gone in 60 seconds really made the movie great, especially the opening theme the throb. The music score makes the movie. I will say Lorne balfe is as good as mark mancina was or still is. I hope his score in Beverly Hills cop 4 will incorporate Harold faltermeyer’s music from the first two. After watching bad boys 3 and 4, Lorne balfe did a great job. And top gun maverick with Harold faltermeyer and Hans zimmer.

The real tragedy is finding OST after so many years, this was one of my faves when I was a kid, VHS 📼 version, and the OST isn’t on Apple Music! 😭

Mark Mancina was the composer for the movie Speed. That is why you hear similarities on the songs. each composers usually has a "catch" sound that you can identify who the composer is. if you listen to John Goodman and hanz Zimmer. and you listen to all of their works they have a "catch" sound in all of their movies they've composed

Yeah... variations of this motif occur throughout _Bad_ _Boys_ and it's a shame the sequel didn't have any such "signature" theme... I'd not have reused this one necessarily but I'd have gotten Mark Mancina back. Surely, if they could get Marco Beltrami on board for the entirety of the _Scream_ franchise they could have rehired Mancina for _Bad_ _Boys_ _II_ ...

@@edwardcatt2399 Mark Mancina was actually suppose to be brought back for the second movie, but the Studio decided right before editing that they were gonna go for a more Hip-Hop/Rap soundtrack approach since it was big back in the mid 2000's.
This soundtrack is just epicness 🔥🔥 fits the movie perfectly

This score is very similar to Mancina's early work on Speed, some parts are even completely identical. I'm not complaining though, a very good score!

This movie score is one of my all-time favorites. Such a travesty that Mancina was not involved in scoring the sequel (which was one of the worst ever in my opinion, a complete ruining of a classic).
Dude, BBII is one of the greatest action films of all time, imo. [Although, yes, it was pointless, but still awesome and intense.]
