I was going to do the one with a video from the clifford ball in 1996 but it was BLOCKED... so here we are. But, this one is 8 minutes longer so it's all good ;)

If you’d like to donate to the channel or just show your appreciation, all the details are below. I created this channel for my daughter, so she has videos of her father talking and doing something he enjoys(listening to music and talking about it) since I don’t have any of those of my father. :) thank you again for your generosity guys, I appreciate you all more then you will ever know.

Leave me a suggestion for next week! I’m game for anything 90s. I’m gonna stick to that for a bit 😊
Dude, great job! It’s infectious. Try this 1992 Maze
ruclips.net/video/C5cz_wCnQX8/видео.htmlsi=lmRyzUJ00Z49KZrY
'94 is a crowd-pleasing vintage, but '97 is for connoisseurs. Try the 11/17/97 "Ghost" on Live Phish Vol. 11 that others have suggested. For a while the band played the tape in the tour bus when they partied.
Bathtub gin from the great went. Limestone Maine August 1997.
Do a "Reba" from the 90s!
Your recognition and appreciation of the Zappa influence throughout your Phish reactions and love of Zappa makes me think a '90s "Reba" would be a great choice. Here's an excellent one with archival video from 06/19/95: ruclips.net/video/8Q-UvuKH030/видео.html
Relisten to "Inca Roads" off-air before doing Reba for a Phish Fry Saturday sometime. If you haven't seen a video of Zappa performing it live, that would be an incredible 1-2 reaction-video sequence.
"Inca Roads" Live '74: ruclips.net/video/wqp71DOJ3aY/видео.html
That version of "Reba" might get blocked, though, as a band archive release. Your willingness to do no-video Phish is great, BTW. That is less likely to get blocked and getting to pick based on quality of audio and performance only frees you up to do some amazing performances that just aren't on video, like a lot of "A Live One." There is some great recent stuff on RUclips, but if you want to focus on the 90s, "video optional" is absolutely the way to do it. The light show is great, but it's about the music in the end.
Please, please do Mike's Song from Slip stiches and pass. Please. I'm their fan from 1993, and I'm from Slovenia...I know them thanks to a basketball team mate from Vermont that was going to college with them, saw them live first time in Denmark in 1998, when we met Trey, asked him to sign postcrads we were sending to friends, of course he did it and on top of it he put us on the VIP list for the next concert, he was surprised that some freaks from Slovenia knew them...but I believe the main reason he did it was my beutiful girlfriend from that magic period of our unbelievable lives. Peace
The funny thing is that you can keep watching bowies and they'll all blow your mind. Bowie, run like an antelope, and possum are their most playful songs.
Divided Sky from the Clifford Ball to watch an epic moment.
The little 4 note progression based intro jam is called Mind Left Body and is something the Grateful Dead used to play, it isn't actually part of David Bowie the song. They toy around during the high hat intro and insert bits of weird stuff sometimes (moreso back in the day).
Speaking of which, he should 100% do the Dead from 5/19/74 Truckin > Mind Left Body > NFA > GDTRFB
Their tension and release is as good as it gets.
You do need to get some visuals of them on stage, cause they are so nonchalant about just melting your face off.
Alright, now you’re ready for the 11/6/98 Split Open & Melt
Mind Left Body Jam in the opening. Hendrix teases to close. This is a masterclass.
Peaches is the real beginning lol!
Purple Haze tease at the end
@@ledhed5553 and voodoo chile
@@alexanderednie1205 thanks, I didn’t catch that…I gotta reListen to it again.
This is the first song of theirs that ive liked. I love it.
Great react to a great jam.
Divided Sky or Reba or Fluffhead has to be next. And keep it in 94. Their live videos from that time aren't the greatest though, so just kinda gotta deal lol.
Thanks again for taking the time to do the longer selections, and we are loving seeing you discover our favorite band and now yours!
So, listened 3 times on the treadmill, bout ready to start it again. Wow!
Perfect song for the treadmill playlist, Barry!
Phish has you hooked...
A whole reaction vid could be done just for the Mind Left Body opening section of this Bowie. Pure phish magic.
There's a handful (ok more than a handful) of what I could consider "magical Trey moments" and this MLB jam is 100% one of them. Just absolutely gorgeous playing.
I'm Phish Hooked!!!....Excellent
Providence Bowie, 12/29/94. Lassie. That's the 35 minute one and YES you gotta do it. One for the ages, I was lucky enough to be there. Do it!!!
Yo -- been absolutely loving joining you as you fall in love with Phish as so many of us have. You're in for a treat when you go see them live. You mention seeing Fishman in action -- who is a real wonder of nature -- but something I find so remarkable is his utter efficiency. His movements are never more than what's needed. They really need to be to pull off all that he does. Seeing him play though -- you need to look very carefully at his finesse, because he's the opposite of a showy drummer. Peace, Broseph ❤
The eyes rolling back at the end and mentioning thats where you Nut was great.
What blows the mind is about half of what hou heard was totally improvised. The intro here was totally different to any other Bowie version you will listen to.
Haha when I watched that replay it made me laugh so hard. I didn’t realize I made that face until this morning lol
It’s wild what this band pulls off. Absolutely wild.
@@L33Reacts I posted it over on Twitter 😂. Same handle.
@@AndrewJDuddyhaha I appreciate you sharing it bro 😎
Sorry I just missed the live stream L33!!!
Can't wait to ⌚ now ..🎶🎸💃🐠🕊️
It’s all good bro! Glad to see you! Enjoy the ride
Great reaction!! You've made it to some of Phish's deeper improvisational work, they were exploring all over the place in this one, whereas some of the songs like YEM or Slave to the Traffic Light are much more in the box of the composition. I recommend 8/16/97 Bathtub Gin for some beautiful anthemic blissy improvisation, or 12/6/97 Tweezer > Izabella for deep psychedelic funk (there's video of that one too).
The theme that starts roughly around 11:05 is Simple before Simple. One of my favorite songs that got words later on... So David Bowie > Simple jam > David Bowie. Nice!! 1st hearing of this version for me, or it's been over 20 years since...🤷♀️🎶🎸🐠🕊️
commenting around 9 minutes in here when you comment on recognizing Page and Mike more in this one. This is really one of those bands that is so good because of all 4 of them. You really can't replace any of them, and the band wouldnt be Phish without the 4 of those weirdo virtuosos. Their ability to introduce a theme in the middle of a long improvisation, and then have the other band members cling on and move together is what makes them so special. So glad to have seen them as many times as I have and glad to see youre digging the good shit!
Pretty much any 1993/1994 Reba, Divided Sky, or Fluffhead will be the next classics you wanna check next
First time hearing this too.... just wow!🎉❤
This is from my first Phish show! It's an all-timer
I will never forget the moment I became came completely hooked. It was in the first set of the show during the song Maze. 30 years and 200+ shows later, I'm still just as hooked as I was in that moment.
OK you can tell by the thumbnail that this is crazy 😂❤
What a journey this one is!
I had suggested the Clifford Ball version of this song because it has video. You were talking about seeing them play. This will have no video but pound for pound, it is a better version of the song. The 94 Chicago Bowie is legendary. The only version that eclipses it is from 12/29/94 at the Providence Civic Center. 30+ minutes of insanity.
I tried the one with video from Clifford ball but it was blocked when I tried to upload test it. So I just went with this one…. And damn am I glad or what lol
@@L33Reactsa lot of phish reaction live videos get blocked if you don’t pause several times during the tune ( sometimes hard to do). Give that a try on your next live video reaction 🤘🏼
Another solid one. 12.31.99 split open and melt should be next. Its a perfect one for you! Keep it up man love these videos!
Chalkdust Torture. Camden 1999. Trey hits THAT tone. Check it out! It may he their best jam. Fishman has said about it something along the lines of 'this is some of our best work. Here's all you to know about us.'
Loving the these reactions! Look forward to ever single one! Love it!
Glad to hear it brother… I look forward to EVERY Friday night when I record these now. It’s a highlight of the week for sure. I will keep that one in mind cuz I loved the one from a live one.
A great David Bowie that stretches way out from the core song. The more material you hear, the deeper the amazement becomes from hearing them stretching the songs. Such a pleasure to watch you discover this ridiculously talented and refined, always forward moving band. Impossible to choose the best from 40 years of music. As far as youtube videos in the 90s theme... Ghost - 7/6/98 - Prague, Cze. Should have video here. A big insane intense version and they almost never play outside the USA. This version is widely revered by phans. The pool is so vast, I look forward to seeing what you react to next 🤘
You need to do a maze at some point too. Im sure you will enjoy it.
Not sure where you live but phish doing MSG around NYE. Get a seat close to or behind the stage. You will see fish in all his glory.
I was at this show. One of the best ever.
Dude that is fucking awesome! I bet it was incredible…
That was a proper Mind Left Body themed jam into a David Bowie. F.W.I. Mind Left Body Jam is a theme the Dead would slip into occasionally in 1973-1974.
This gonbe gud
Bowie from portland 92 maybe 93 with the arerosmith dream on teases. That show was in my tape deck forever
masters of tension release....love phish fry sat!
They are so locked in to each other.
Can’t wait for the next one. Any chance you can do two Phish reactions per Saturday?
No need to apologize for the language bro. 👊
If you're sticking to the 90s, the Bathtub Gin from their festival called The Great Went, aka "The Went Gin", is absolutely essential. Trey falls into this ridiculous ear worm of a riff and the band rides an improvisitional wave through the end. While there is never any consensus on the "best Phish" as you've no doubt seen in these comments weekly, many of us consider this a Mount Rushmore jam.
ruclips.net/video/iFiDu-rNZrI/видео.htmlsi=VDn9biSk5FYCCt55
Lots of teases to start the Bowie😅
This song should be called “Tease” lol
And a coupla Jimi teases at the end!
Rowdy intro on this version , love it
I hope you listen to the peaches en regalia that precedes this too. It’s a whole thing
I saw it when the video started basically but I didn’t know they went together :( Woops. I even say I want to listen to it in the video 😂😂
The trio of Peaches>the jam that starts this>David Bowie is an all time epic phish segment, love that you picked this one!
@@JRJigsawyer I’m glad you enjoyed, my friend. That was one helluva ride lol
Listen to a hundred bowies and they will all be different and all blow your mind
P.S. Watch the Clifford Ball Bowie. Now that you broke your Bowie -cherry. Not for a video -for you. It was an amazing show. My 9-month-old son was with me and my wife.
That's a top 10 version of the greatest band to ever do it. My top 4 are Phish>Zappa>Dan>Dead. The fact that I was wicked young and they were in their prime and I was privileged enough to get some clean LSD to consume while watching them play......... The Dead were good but Phish was amazing.
Caught a little Three Blind Mice reference in their.
Video is a distraction. Of course there’s parts to like, but the BEST phish jams (like the one you just experienced) don’t really have great video.
The goal should be to find the BEST jams (including segues, like you should’ve done Peaches into Bowie for this one) and keep listening to those. Don’t get distracted with average jams. Those are what have been the demise of other reactors.
Since you like the chaos psychedelic metal jams, do an antelope from 1993-1995 next.
Thank you for the tip, my friend. I’m definitely gonna keep digging for jams like this but I definitely have to see them work their magic live at some point. But i get what you’re saying. Thank you for the suggestions as well 🙏
@@L33Reacts yep, fluffhead 3/6/2009 fan video was magical and has good video of lights. YEM 2011 or 2012 official phish release for band closeups.
19:30 🎉

“Really kind of grabs you by the boo boo”
Correction this is Halloween Chicago rosemont horizon.
Clifford ball was first large festival aug 1996 at a former airforce base in Plattsburgh NY. Whole thing was incredible.
This isn't Halloween.
@@fluffhead14not even close
Reba new years 93
The whole 93 NYE show should be memorized by all Phish fans.
@@floooobzdagget3734 my favorite all time show. For me, it's their Cornell 77
Punch You In The Eye or Run Like an Antelope or Guyute or Wilson or Carini or AC DC Bag........ or 12/31/23 The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday full rock opera with a stage play to match it.
Try and take on the 40-minute 2/23/2024 Chalk Dust Torture, it’s a modern Phish masterpiece
David live lp you gotta play whole lp much better than this! Blast you off yer feet!!
Week 6 of saying Fluffhead
Fluff is cool but this dude likes that hard stuff. The composed section or "fluffs travels" is a great complex piece of music but I'm not sure if he's ready for it loll
Dive into some December 95 and fall 97
Maybe a Antelope from 97 or 98 would be good for next
10/31/94 Reba would be a great listen.
Yeah, he'll definitely need to hit a good Reba. Maybe their finest composition.
Do a live video reaction next my man
Big Black Furry Creature From Mars or It’s Ice would be a nice choice for a future Saturday Fry...
7/29/98 Bathtub Gin
Try a Run Like an Antelope from '92-'95. Someone will give you specific ones but I'd say random find one and listen.
Divided Sky
Mike’s Song>>Weekapaugh
Down with Disease
Guyote
It's hard to believe you wouldn't listen to any Phish in the interim between these videos.
It’s very hard. I’m not gonna lie lol but I like to save the first listens for the channel. No one wants to see my third time reaction to a song it probably wouldn’t be fun lol
But I have been jamming chalkdust and stash a lot
@@L33ReactsHave you been listening to different versions of these songs you already heard? You should!
You would have enjoyed the Peaches en Regalia more
Can anyone help, please, I can't find anymore a David that was my favorite in the nineties, the one that sounds like the soundtrack of the Exorcist, Trey wispering like a demon hunting naughty virgins...although this one might be the best I've ever heard
Providence 12/29/94
This is the one. Evil Phish FTW
