I just bought the se yesterday.. I really can’t afford the new iPhones so I have always been models behind when I purchased one. Didn’t know that I was getting a decent iPhone for the money and not having to settle for a 6 or 7 just to get away from android.

@@hollywoodthedj1673 My first Iphone I got from an AT&T Store which was a original SE but only 32 GB's, I sold it and got a like new 6s from Amazon which had 126 GB storage, when the new one came out I sold that one to Deculttr, and found out it was locked to AT&T and got 85 dollars. I bought an new Iphone SE 2020 with 256 GB storage which I have only halfway used so far.

I have SE and now i ordered 12 MINI.I have 2 phone numbers . I LOVE MY SE and it keep allmost 1,5 days battery. I use it only for few emails ,i am not gamer and just ocassionally some youtube.

You do know the the SE can run (2) phone numbers, right? It has a digital SIM and a physical SIM card. I ran my SE like that for a while but in the end, went with a second phone too.

Bought a SE2020 in Red with charger etc, to replace my ageing 6s, the 12 mini is nice but too expensive as I am a light user of a phone.

The Iris scanner on my Samsung gave me headaches. It was literally uncomfortable to have a laser shined in your eye every time you unlock your phone.
As a carpenter I started hating touch id because your fingers keep damaging and it wont recognize my fingerprint. Using galaxy s10e
Picked up the SE. Coming off a 6S. No regrets. Had it for a couple of weeks now. Mine still came with the buds and a brick which was an unexpected surprise. Camera in a slightly different position so my old 6S case doesn’t line up perfectly with the SE camera. Will have to pick up a new case eventually. But outside of that, totally happy and satisfied with the purchase

the video quality looks more natural in SE for me, in Mini it's so bright.
Currently using a regular iPhone 11 after coming from the iPhone 8, and very much hating the bigger screen size. I’m likely going to trade it in for the SE, I don’t see a big enough difference in the camera for the 12 mini. Also, Touch ID is clutch these days!
I feel you on this I have a XR got it after my 8 had gotten stolen hated the size from the jump so once the iPhone Se 2020 came out & I seen how affordable it was I added a second line on my plan and brought it just because & been using it ever since it’s time to turn my XR back in I was going to get the 12 mini just to have and try out but I don’t know what I’m going to do but one thing I’m not doing is getting rid of my SE 2020 my only regret is that I didn’t get the 128 gig SE I got the 64 but it’s not that much of a problem!
Have an SE, I’m using it right now. In love with it. The only thing I don’t like it that using the camera at night to record something is basically impossible. The quality sucks! That’s an easy fix though with a ring light or a clip on light to the phone. But during the day , camera quality is damn near perfect! Other than that one minor draw back , the SE was a great buy. Happy with my purchase .☺️

Same here. I went from a 4s to a 5 to a 1st gen SE. The 2nd gen SE seems like a good deal but my current phone still works fine so I'm still considering whether I should wait.
I actually upgraded to an iPhone SE (2020) from the original SE and loved it but that battery life was not so great. Phone was dead by 4pm. Plus the battery health was down to 99% within 1 week which freaked me out. I had to return it and now have the iPhone 12. I think the mini is going to have the same battery issues as the SE.

I have an iPhone 8 plus and have been wanting to downgrade in size. I was in-between the SE and 12 mini but ended up buying the mini. I only upgrade my phone every 3-4 years, so I want my phone to be future proof and be a pleasure to use. I would be making too many compromises with the SE (smaller screensize, losing camera features), whereas on the mini I get almost the same size display as what I'm coming from, a much faster phone, better display, better camera, and probably better battery life than what I have on my 8 plus. I'd rather have a great phone for 4 years then having an average phone for 2 years and then having to upgrade again.
I have an iPhone 8 plus just like you and have been wanting to downgrade but I chose SE over 12 mini. Biggest reason is money 🤣 if I compare the features I used then 12 mini would be overpriced for me. I bought SE 2 days ago and been in love with it so far. The battery is great 👍 much better then my 3 years old 8 plus
The screen size isn’t so clear cut. 16:9 content will appear bigger on the older plus size models due to the much wider screen. But, that extra space on the screen of the mini compared to the older small models is nice. Typing will still be on the smaller side.
I sold away my iPhone 12 and bought a SE 2020 few weeks ago. Love the Touch ID, the most important feature nowadays as we need to wear mask, at least for a few years

The notch and high screen to body ratio is useless and impractical,the iphone se look's more practical with a proper rectangular display and honestly I love top and bottom chins on smartphones with little bit of Bezels
I bought the SE with 128 gigs at the beginning of November to replace my 5S. It came with charger and earbuds. It does everything I need it to do and saved money for other things. Added a glass screen protector and UBPro case (removed the plastic screen protector)
It doesn’t come with a screen protector
@@TCHFTZ Every iPhone has that plastic wrapping on it you remove. That’s a screen protector to protect the phone while in the packaging
I did ask Tim Cook on an email to work on smaller sized phone back in
2019 over an email when he launched Iphone 11. I didn't get any reply to my email back
then. But he did work on it on priority and the result is in your hand
right now. So I don't have to worry about my next upgrade. :-)

Dude I upgraded my iPhone XS to the 12 mini. The XS was still so big in the hand and pocket. I love my 12 mini, feels like home when I can hold my phone on one hand without it falling on my face when watching RUclips videos in bed. Lol I have the apple leather case it’s so perfect. It’s a heavy puncher. Lol
I would get an X if I found a good deal the X was ahead of its time that phone did and has almost everything they doing with these new iPhones that’s why they discontinued it because it would have hurt the newer phone sales

Next year’s mini will either be unchanged or get a processor/camera spec improvement, but I doubt anything else.
@@Sashazur The mini doesn’t seem to be their cheaper phone though like the SE. Still seems to be apart of their flagship line. I doubt they would keep the same chip and do minor adjustments. If they do then they do. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Great job on the video but I think the MIni screen size is more like 5 because that little are next to Face ID is worthless ... the screen size of the SE is 4.7 so I think there really not that different screen size .

I just got the SE despite seeing examples of a darker screen with muddy colors (Flossy). I was glad to see that going into options and disabling True Tone made the screen look as bright and colorful as other phones with more nits, I'm mostly an LG phone owner but I like to have an Apple on the side. The SE also supports back tap with iOS 14. The SE is a lot of phone for the $240 new that I paid (Newegg). I like the smaller and lighter size when I have it paired with my Garmin Watch when I bike, walk, hike etc. My big LGs make my pants sag lol.

The video difference in 4K 30 will be the Dolby vision hdr being turned on with the 12 mini and it doesn’t convert well without a lot of work

I run the iPhone se. I use it for filming short docs and it’s never disappointed. All I did was add a shotgun mic. Day to day it’s also an overall fabulous phone

Im with Tmobile and the use of 5g puts me with the mini all the way. I am going to regret not getting the mini when 5g is rockin a year or two from now
After one year of SE 2020. it was a nice introduction to Apple smartphone world. Also with facial mask time. The home button was a bargain. Now i want more and upgrade to the 12 mini already. 5g, oled and longer battery life. The drawback of the SE is the battery. It's a small battery with iPhone 11 pro power and you feel it with heavy use. Now evening activities start again. I felt tired to see friend with 20-30% battery
I had an iPhone XS but it broke and I actually got the new SE. I thought I would hate it but I honestly love the size and using the move button again- it’s still really good. And I honestly like this phone a lot

There is not much of a price difference between a iPhone 7 and SE 2020 online...and with SE we are getting a 4 years newer phone .I think this is such a nice price for a iPhone. Battery is good because of nice optimisation in IOS 14.

I’m having XR and I’m thinking of getting the SE. This phone is all okay in all performance. But it’s kinda heavy. I still have the 6s and it’s more comfortable on my hands.
question about the screen aspect ratio. the mini has 19.5:9 while the se has a 16:9 screen. most youtube videos are 16:9 so they would actually fill the entire screen of the SE while leaving black bars on the mini. however, I noticed when you played the videos, the mini also has the entire screen filled. is this because the video was zoomed?
It is strange that u don't find differences between LCD and LED. I have use the best Super LCD display by HTC but still I find huge difference between LCD and LED display.

We switched to xfinity mobile and I got the SE for free! I had a xr for 2 and a half years but I have to say the SE is more comfortable and a lighter. I don’t need all the gimmicks with more expensive flag ships. This phone is a pocket rocket. It all the things I need it to. Love it!

Wdym??? The iPhone 12 mini has a way better battery life than the iPhone SE 2020. The SE tops out at like 6 hours MAX and the 12 mini can get to like 8 hours. lol
I had the se 2 since launch, and just upgraded to the 12 mini, and I can tell you it is 100% worth the extra price if you have the money!

Camera I felt SE is definitely better, looks more natural and great balance with saturation, mini may look bit sharper and contrast with bright/dark color, of course mini has wide angle so may do better but deep effect of SEbis better in my opinion. I choose SE and love that lit red color

Regarding this video, i try to love this iPhone SE but coming from XS Max, the screen is too small for me and battery is not that good.
I have a SE for my work phone and Mini as my personal phone and battery life is not great but a lot better on the mini. Not even close mini is a much better phone.

The mini is a better phone--as it should be for $300 more--but the SE's red is way better.
I'd go with the SE unless the price premium for the iPhone mini is less than $200 over the SE. In other words, the iPhone mini is $100 too expensive.
I think people just don’t get what the SE truly is:
Most updated specs (as possible) with the old iPhone body.
That is why the 1st gen had the 5s body. And the 2nd gen the 8 body.
So no, the 12 mini is not “the real SE”.

Your battery comparison wasn't accurate at slightest tbh. Mini still gives you more Screen time. SE's battery is really bad. you can be on %30 and go to bed and wake up with a dead phone. Mini's battery is superior.

I 3D printed a model of the 12 mini and for my hands the few extra mm really does affect the one handed reachability. May as well get a 12 Pro Max if I have to use both hands XD
iPhone 12 mini absolutely KILLS the iPhone SE when it comes down to battery life. I upgraded from an SE to a 12 mini a week ago and I haven’t had to carry an external battery with me when I went out. The SE’s health was only at 91%…

Just got the Mini. Have the SE 2020 also. I like some things on the SE better and some things better on the mini. IF you are already rocking the SE 2020 I’d say save the $300 and don’t “upgrade”. I got my SE for free so I’m out nothing but yeah, I’d be fine if I stayed with the SE.

The Se is the exact same size as the 6,7,8.
The mini is a little smaller, but has a bigger screen because of no home button. So if you get the Mini, you’re getting a slightly smaller phone , with a bigger screen. You can find a size comparison on RUclips next to the original se.
J D S i used to have an SE but hesitantly upgraded to an iphone 7 and actually think it’s a good size now, kinda scared reaching the corners will be uncomfortable but i think the mini will be my next phone

iPhone SE no longer comes with a brick or the earpods. Kinda feel like Apple needs to reduce the price when they do stuff like this.
My brother just got an SE today for his birthday and I'm getting one for mine next month, but when he got his it had the normal apple package (like everything before the 12) but the 12 has no brick or the regular charging port like I'm previous generations of iphone. That kinda upset me but it's a tad upsetting that the 12 has no brick or earpods because lets me honest here, the size of the box isn't gonna kill someone so it wasn't my favorite thing apple has done with the packaging. And I'm still waiting for my headphone jack to come back✨

@@Therealpeter10 yes, I think SE is special edition: some of the newest features in a small body. The SE is built to last, while the mini does have the newest features, next year it will miss some of the newest features too.

@@WillFuI yeah that’s a fair point but you have to sacrifice something, so if Apple included the iPhone 12 mini display in the se, maybe they’d use the A11 or A12 chip instead of the A13 for example

Well let's face it when it comes right down to it, they are both comparable when you are looking at them both I choose the iPhone SE, and hear is why first of all I don't like face Id/and the speakers on the SE has two one on the front and bottom/, in my opinion, the SE is the beast of the two! [I LOVE my SE for all of these reasons] It's your choice
Sorry but I disagree, the Iphone 12 mini caemra looks washed out, the SE is much clearer, and video no comparison, the video colors for SE are much better.
That’s because the 12 exports the video using Dolby vision. If it was exported directly or if you saw the photos in person, the 12 mini’s quality is significantly better
