Honestly, I see little point in rushing shifts, the revs decay so slowly it's just added wear if I go any quicker. Until I'm 100% confident I've extracted all the performance I can from the consumables, I'll go easier on the expensive mechanical bits.
Hey Another Manual m140 owner here, like can you do a video for newbies like me in regards to going for your first track day, like what things to do before, insurance, brakes, tyres, service? Etc would be a nice video
Your superior driving was all that was needed here. You can have the fastest car in the world but as you've just proved, if you can't drive it properly on a track then its pointless. Your driving was spot on mark 👍 smooth and tidy lines
Another excellent session 👍 notice you feather the throttle a lot in medium corners. Remember Anthony Reid took a Mondeo out for a session for EVO magazine a few years ago standard car can't remember what circuit but only after a few laps the car was knackered. What the journalist couldn't get over was how late and hard he braked and mashed the throttle. I know he was a professional racing driver but try his method and no heel and toe that wastes time brake and gear well before apex. And yes I've done plenty of track days no criticism at all just help to get faster😀
All comments and criticisms are welcomed here. There's no way I could ever drop the H&T rev-matching when I think of what that would be doing to the clutch, the drivetrain, the weight transfer, not to mention the likelihood of locking the rear wheels. My problem is I try to be too smooth...but in return I get a car that survives the day without distress.
Driving beautifully, Mark. Excellent video but I did miss the usual shot of rev counter and speedo and is the car sounding different these days, a little harsher, or is that track surface or microphone or just my imagination? Came away wondering how much more the car has to give. Do you have a sense of how much untapped potential remains?
Yet again quality mate. But u need to do a senna and wear brown moccasins and white socks like when he ragged the old NSX on track 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. All the best.
What tyres are these 3 cars equipped with? OEM Michelin PSS should be a lot better on track than your PS4?! ...with this PS4 disadvantage your speed is even more remarkable 👍
Just a thought , have you any photos or footage of you when you were young , say 13 //17 years , perhaps in a gocart or the first time you drove or got behind a wheel . You could do a post on this , about your early years , you could then call it MARKPUP70 !
The zf cars definitely seem a bit quicker. The white m140i what bilstein dampers is it on is it b12s? It seems pretty quick it left the black stage 2 m140i
Fun.there in November with my st.cant see any gain with left foot braking.youre off the throttle ,and you keep swapping.is car not fitted with rev matching on downshift.dont think we need that screen.again for average stuff like tracking heel and toe is hardly worth it.car should be balanced by time you enter a turn.I never heel and toe.microphone very harsh to listen too.guessing outside.maybe a nicer soundtrack from inside.new rear tyres at this rate.remember what tiff said.sliding is not fast.smooth is the key.

100% a genuine error on my part creating the thumbnail. Having said that I honestly don't think of my car as modified, it just happens to have a rare BMW option fitted.
Chris Murphy guessing a typical stage 1 type tune would take a couple of seconds off that. It’s a long track with a lot of straights, power makes a lot of difference there
Erm, I think this is my favourite video you’ve ever made looool what a wicked day with the lads!
Honestly Tim, best trackday I've ever had. Here's to the next one 👍
MarkCup70 and here’s to you in your standard car whooping tim in his stage 2 beast 👏
I feel like I could make a sandwich in the time it takes you to change gear sometimes Mark 😂
Great driving otherwise!

Your driving is getting smooth as f Mark, impressive !
Lovely foot work keep these videos coming best one yet, any chance we'll see some fwd again soon?

Great driving !!
Nice bit of heel and toe and left foot braking there Mark! Looks like the LSD is working a treat coming out of the bends
It's super slow doing that but so much fun. Helps me get a feel for it, for when it happens and I'm not doing it on purpose.

Goes well Mark! Nice to see you playing around with the rear end a bit too 😂
Track days look fun when you have equivalent cars to run with. I never seem to have that lol.

Great stuff as always. How did you find Bedford on your brakes? I toasted a new set there last month...
I didn't test them hard enough to find out. There was a lot of lift and coast to make sure they survived the day.

B8 damper probably
@@vollcare4076 I was wondering if it was on b12s as they're raved about but they don't drop the car very much
Blueblood B12 = Bilstein B8 damper + Eibach „pro-kit“ springs
Bro watching your gear change I thought I had the RUclips speed on .25%.
😂 I should change gear quicker?
Haha your down shifts are on point a little quicker on the up haha
Mechanical sympathy and a proper sh*t shift feel are my excuse!
6:22 now that's what I'm talking about :D
He was rapid, nicely setup, good rubber, quick!
Hopefully this will persuade my mate to buy one! 👍😂
Mark, when you feel the moment to sell it, let me know 😉
Will do, but you'll be waiting a very very very long time 😆

With grammar like that I don't think you're in a position to criticise anything 😂

I thought you had fitted the LSD? So not standard then. Looks very rolly-polly in the corners, a bit like sailing. Still good laps.👍
The diff is an optional extra from standard.

Any times ?
No clear laps, and I spent too much time just trying to stay close to others in our group while playing with the LSD.
I didn’t get any clear laps but think around 2.45 would be possible with fresh tyres and pads 🤞
