Assalaamualykum, Untill Islam gains the importance of necessity till then it will be either done for self satisfaction, social pressure, respect, honor in society etc. Islam when becomes utmost necessity then it will be pure. Pure from self satisfaction and people's applause and appreciation. Certainly Sahaba Qibla was Aaqirah, Razah r Rabb. Not for fame or self satisfaction. They followed Islam like Duty. Like a Soldier. Living for Islam, Happy for being Muslim, Nothing else... Untill then these stories will only make us imitate them for either fame or social glory. As you can see in our society today.
